  • 1 lb. ground beef
    1 small onion, diced
    1 small bell pepper, diced
    1-15 oz. can tomato sauce
    1 ½ teaspoons chili powder
    ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
    2 1/2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
    ¼teaspoon hot pepper flakes
    ¼ teaspoon black pepper
    ½ teaspoon salt
½ to ¾ lb. spaghetti, cooked
In a heavy saucepan; add the ground beef, onion and bell pepper; cook until the ground beef is browned. Drain excess fat. Add the tomato sauce, chili powder, cinnamon, worcestershire sauce, pepper flakes and black pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer. While the sauce is simmering, prepare the spaghetti.
Bring 4-6 quarts of water to a boil and add salt to taste. Add the spaghetti to the boiling water. Boil for 4 minutes for “al dente” or an additional 1 minute for tender pasta; stirring occasionally. Drain pasta and reserve ¼ cup of pasta water for the sauce.
Serve the meat sauce over an individual serving of spaghetti or mix the two before serving. If mixing together, add the drained spaghetti and reserved pasta water and stir well. Enjoy!
This is a family favorite in our household. When we had spaghetti growing up, this is what we had. We never used sauce in a jar. Mom said she got this recipe from Aunt Luella. Typically, we serve this with green beans and corn. I hope you would consider making this for your family.
    Blessings,
    Terri

Looks great. Í am a bit confused you made a double recipe on the video but on the written recipe you have 3 teaspoons of Worcester sauce for 1 lb of meat. Is this correct? You cooked 2 lbs of meat and added only 3 teaspoons of the sauce should it be 6 teaspoons?

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. When I added the additional Worcester sauce I had 4 teaspoons already measured out and added the additional teaspoon, which would make it 5 teaspoons for the 2 lbs. I will correct the recipe to reflect 2 1/2 teaspoons for the 1 lb. meat. Again, I greatly appreciate you bringing this to my attention. Also, thank you for watching my videos! Blessings, Terri
