FAQ:
Who is this lady?
Gina Petitti was born in 1935 in Faeto, Italy. It is in the province of Foggia in the Puglia region of southeast Italy. Her family ran a farm in Italy and she met her husband, Vito, in the same town. In 1970 Gina, Vito, and her 4 children immigrated to America. Gina’s husband passed away in 2012, but she is surrounded by a large family, which includes 9 grandchildren, and lives 5 minutes away from her eldest daughter in New Jersey. Gina enjoys making food for her family in the same old fashion ways as she was taught by her mother and grandmother in Italy, and also new things she has subsequently learned from family and friends in America. She also enjoys gardening, and being an active member of her local Church.
Where does Gina get her recipes?
Most of these recipes are from what she learned growing up in Italy, but some of them have evolved over time. She has also learned new recipes from friends and family in America. She is always eager to try new things.
Why is no one helping her in the video?
Grandma Gina doesn’t want help! Usually, it’s because we will slow her down or not do it “her way.” For the videos we only show her, but when the camera cuts we jump in and help form the cookies or prep for the next step.
Why don’t we buy her a new...?
Grandma Gina has a closet and garage full of new gadgets, spoons, forks, pots, etc… but she doesn’t like them because she is used to doing it with her old tools. She has fun getting her hands dirty!
Who is behind the camera and behind the scenes?
Grandma Gina’s retired son-in-law, Nick, does the filming, editing, production, and channel management. Her daughter, Maria, helps with food preparation, kitchen setup and fan support. Also, Grandma Gina usually has one or two grand-kids in the kitchen to help.
Does Gina read the comments?
We print out and show her how much love she gets from all her viewers, and she is very thankful and hopes you enjoy her cooking! Your comments bring her lots of joy, laughter, and inspiration to make more videos to share with you.
Thank you for watching, we hope you subscribe, and we will see you in our next video! - Хобби
Anyone criticizing this woman has issues. She is a home cook who is a pro. I pray to God I will still be here at her age, never mind taking care of a garden and cooking ON CAMERA. Gina is a treasure. A breath of fresh air. ❤
This lady's family is extremely blessed to have her!
I absolutely love this sweet lady. She brings back memories of my Italian Grandmothers. She puts a smile on my face everytime I watch her videos.
God Bless you sweet Gina !
I have MS and recovering from cancer. My family (still two at home) loves these recipes. I’m grateful to this lovely lady for keeping me occupied and feeling of value to my family.
You ABSOLUTELY are of GREAT value to your family and all those around you because you have great courage to overcome what you have to deal with! ❤️
I’m African American from New York. My Lord Grandma Gina reminds me of one of my Italian friends Mom from Brooklyn. I couldn’t stop watching her at 1:00 am😂❤ God bless Grandma Gina!!!! Grazie
Are you from Africa? Otherwise you're just American.
Gotta learn from someone, then we pass it on to others
@@fitzy28101of African descent still counts
Girl! I found my way here too!🤣
@@fitzy28101 tell that to the powers that be! 🤣 the term African - American is literally on official applications, medical paperwork, census questionnaires, etc.
My mom passed away 13 years ago and I regret not paying attention to her cooking. I thank god for this channel, Gina cooks exactly like my mom did. Stay strong and I thank you for helping me cook the same meals for my kids as my mom did. God bless!
Tony Mella if your mam was Italian she definitely cooks like Gina I’ve never met an Italian who can’t cook food it’s in their nature
She uses one ingredient that makes a dish great and that's LOVE. When she broke out in song I almost started crying. For a second I saw my mama.
IKRR the part when she started singing my heart went 💗💓💗💓💗
She is singing to the meatballs. Everything will come out better. ❤
This woman is EVERYONES grandma or mama. You can tell she would welcome anyone a seat at her delicious table. Oh how I love to watch her cook and sing. Gina, truly one of Gods Angels on Earth. Thank you for sharing yourself with us Gina, ive learned so much from you
My grandson is 5 yrs old, on the spectrum of Autism. He loves grandma Gina. He watches her clips everyday. When he visits me he will ask me to put Gina on. Her videos actually keep him calm. I have watched them with him and have tried a few of Grandma Ginas recipes. God bless you and keep you going. Your family is truly blessed.
Oh how wonderful! 💙💙
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Aw, that’s precious! She keeps me calm too! Makes me miss my Mom. She was a great cook.
Grandma Gina is truly an Angel unaware ❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
My daughter is 6 and considered high functioning Autistic. She loves helping me cook. Today we made beef braciole. She loves superhero’s and cooking. I wish you’re family all the best.
Hi Gina ! You Melt my heart everytime. 💗 Bless you ..
This sweet lady made my day. Her accent and her singing; her singing was adorable.
She does the number one most important thing... she lets the herbs and spices bloom for a long time before she starts cooking. That makes everything better.
The secret to great Italian food: singing a beautiful Italian love song while cooking.
Grazie, Nonna per tutto quello che fai. Che Dio benedica te e la tua famiglia.
Like Pavlov's dog as soon as I hear the words 'Hello, I'm-a Gina' I start salivating uncontrollably
Your videos are like a warm hug on a very cold day. You make people so happy
It doesn't get any more Italian than that. I love her song.
This will probably be my only comment because I hardly ever leave comments on RUclips…..but I must follow my heart now and let you know I LOVE our Italian Grandma and Buon-A-Petitti! I have also purchased her cookbook! I have cooked many of her recipes and I LOVE the results and so does everyone else in my family!….especially my Italian side of the family! What a treasure this beautiful woman is….she makes the world a better place….Thank you so very much for all you do! Tracy❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼😎
Thank you for your love and support for my channel. God Bless!
Well said ..Grandma is a legend 👏 🥰 Mike Durban South Africa
The moment she started singing...I knew there was no other recipe I would need for this meal 🥰
I am a Chef of 20+ years experience and my best recipes come from grandmother's.
I truly believe that love is the most important ingredient in cooking !
NIgerian Man watching from Japan. I enjoyed your video grandma. Keep educating us how to make it well. God bless you.
So happy to see you Nonna Gina-I was so worried about you!! Please don't ever make us wait so long again to see you! We all love you!❤️

I was worried too!
So glad to see her❤❤❤

When she said “Every problem I fix” 😩🤚🏾 I felt that granny energy 🥰
I unofficially adopted her after about 2 minutes. ❤️

Weirdo lol
I watch these just to hear her talk. Love her.
I have Gina’s cookbook but I always come back to the videos…. I learn something new each time I watch. We love you Gina🇮🇹❤️
I made these last night, using the recipe from the Sunday gravy and meatballs video. Was a huge hit. I'm a 35 year old Maori fulla living in Australia and this is my favourite channel. I visited Italy once and fell in love instantly, hope to get back after the world clocks back in. For the mean time I'm going to enjoy these videos. Love from my whanau to your famiglia.
It would be great to see Gina cook in Italy 😀 I love that Italians hold their faith so dear to their hearts. God bless you beautiful Gina.
Gina is the Nona that everyone wants and a few of us were lucky enough to have with our own.
Grazie!
Grandma Gina is my "go to" for absolutely anything Italian... what a gift to share her with the world...
This wonderful godly lady blessed herself before she started to roll her meatballs. People from Gina’s generation are truly thankful for everything they have! That’s one of the nicest things I’ve ever seen someone do on camera! God bless!
Nonna
❤️❤️
My favorite parts of this video is her humble accent talking self, singing and that little prayer she did after taking plastic wrap off.
Thank god for you Gina! My wife is Irish Sicilian, didn’t really like to cook Italian. She was a meat and potatoes girl. But after watching you on tv, with all your fabulous recipes she started cooking Italian again! After 41 years old being married, I can finally eat Italian. Thank you,
Ted M.
If only the world could be as sweet as momma Gina, what a wonderful world this would be ❤❤❤
Reminds me so much of my Greek grandma, Greeks and Italians both understand food and family are the two most important things in life, especially together.
Not only Greeks & Italians. 🤦♀️🤣
@@marieanne7569 true but Greeks and Italians have are similar in a lot of ways.
Amen
I just LOVE IT when you SING! I made your MEATBALLS tonight!! They were EXCELLENT!
I emigrated to the UK in 1987 as a VERY young American woman. I was newly married to a British man . We didn't have much money. I was used to Marinara sauce from a jar. One shopping trip I actually read the ingredients list off of an expensive jar of marinara and realised I had all of those things in my larder at home. From that moment on I made my own sauce. I have refined it over the years and Gina has been an inspiration! I now grow my own plum tomatoes and bottle them like Gina.
She is so gracious! One imagine that all Italian grandmas are like her.❤
I’m lucky to have an Italian grandma who still is alive and cooks a lot of these same recipes. This lady does an amazing job.
God Grace Congratulate to this wonderful beautiful wisdom woman of God. I just love ❤️ to hear you sing 🎶 with your medley.

Never stop singing Gina xx
I am convinced the greatest cooks on Earth are just random Italian grandmothers. Forget Michelin stars.
What a beautiful human being. ❤ We can learn from her.
I appreciate her video's because she's sharing tips that will be lost forever without her. Fortunately she is wiling to be recorded while cooking so that these recipes can survive the passage of time. These videos are priceless.
What happened to frozen meatballs
Hi
@@patrickmcfarland2610 hi

My Wife is Sicilian she makes Meatballs and sauce exactly the way you do ,The only difference is she uses Fresh Garlic in her meatballs You're an inspiration.....God bless
Yes I was quite surprised she put garlic powder in the meatballs, I would love to know why and if it makes it better.
My mother says garlic powder makes you burp and fresh garlic is better. 🤷🏻♀️
Gina has old school charm from her singing to her old school cooking methods. She’s BELLA in every way! 🍃♥️🍃🇮🇹🍃♥️🍃
My Italian Mom passed away a year ago. She was an amazing cook and her meatball recipe was almost identical to yours. She would make dozens of meatballs at a time and as kids we could not wait to have a fried meatball sandwich while she worked. Thanks for the memories.
Beautiful song Grandma Gina! 💋 You can come and cook and sing at my house anytime 🥰 The meatballs and spaghetti looks delicious! Thank you for sharing another wonderful meal sweet lady. Have a wonderful holiday weekend ❤️
I wish this lady was my grandmother!! She does say things very similar like my volva but she’s Portuguese, it does sounds similar! Your so cute grandma!! Your family is very lucky & to have such a great cook!
I love that she shares her talent for cooking. She puts a lot of love into her food making 😋
I love her singing a beautiful song in Italian, reminds me of my grandma. God Bless her ❤️
This woman is everything that is good. My Grandmother's are long gone, and my Mother too now, quite often when I'm cooking I try to remember how they did things and wish I could remember more of what I saw them doing in the kitchen. Watching you is more than just cooking some good food the way they did. It's a master class on cooking simple great old style Italian food, it's also memories of Grandmother's and Mothers, and family. I feel like I'm watching them again, and learning the things that I regretted not paying more attention to back then. Thank you so much for making these.
She make me want her food and a hug! I'm so drawn to the elders because I never knew my grandmother. She passed when I was a baby. Grandmother Gina is a blessing to watch and learn from.
LOVE,YOU GINA!!!!!!!
Gina you make our hearts feel happy God bless you 💋
I watch this lady every day she makes my day. She's a real sweetheart.
I love her accent!
I'm officially adopting grandma Gina. You are now apart of our family. Love your videos and recipes.

Grandma Gina just totally melted away any stress or anxiety I had. What a lovely woman, I'm so glad I found this channel. Thank you, Grandma Gina!
who gave this adorable woman a thumbs down? SMH
I just made your meatball recipe for my dad Mrs. Gina. He said it was amazing 😘. I little bit of Italy 🇮🇹 here in Wisconsin. Thank you for all your hard work 🙇🏽
Her hands reminded me of my mom's. Both have small, hardworking hands. Beautiful ones!
My mom is the best cook I ever met.
I have literally never trusted a RUclips cooking tutorial as much as this one
Riiiiight 😂
Love her cooking, she is thorough and a joy to watch. This is what the world needs more people like her.
WOW! Authentic recipe, being taught, and being serenaded too! How much better can life be!! THANK YOU.
I make these meatballs every few weeks and my family eats as many as I make!
“”I’m so happy to see you again, I’ve learned a lot from you, I love family traditions...”GOD BLESS YOU” love your singing!!!
I'm sitting here salivating...
But when she breaks out in song whilst cooking, I cry as well. (I'm a mess...)
What a woman!
Isn't that wonderful!
she maka me crya like my auntie cooking in the Bronx NYC
Miss my grandmother singing in Italian when she cooked, especially on Sunday.
Love this woman.
I no longer have my parents or my grandparents. I want Grandma Gina to adopt me!
God Bless you Grandma. If everybody could be as kind as you are nobody would argue. Putting the different plates of food on the table so everyone can eat like they want. What a sweetheart you are. During these really sad and scary times, you are just so happy. Thank you Grandma, and again, God Bless you.
Oh how I would love to taste that spaghetti and meats balls!
God Bless you and holy kisses grandma
This is the greatest, most wholesome cooking video I've ever seen. Molte grazie
She reminds me of my sweet grandma. To those who criticize her recipes I have learned that it depends on what part of Italy your family comes from with adaptations for family preferences. Not wrong, just different. And you don’t have to use her recipe.
Her recipe is very similar to the one Jean Paul has on his channel. His mother was Italian.
Brava,bravissima,come la mia cara,adorata nonna.😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
When noni started singing marina, my heart melted.
LOVE! Thought you were singing to me. What are the words to the song in English? Going to make this tonight!
cried thinking of my noni rest in peace.
SAME!!! I SMASHED THE LIKE BUTTON AS SOON AS SHE STARTED SINGING!
That is my niece's name, Marina. I love my niece so much!
I love her! Especially when she sings. My meatballs are marinating in the fridge for 30 minutes. It's Super Bowl Sunday!
Reminds me of my Grandmother that came from Italy . She was a good cook also. I always watch Grandma Gina who makes me happy to see her so happy when she cooks, and her singing, love it.
I love the song you always sing grandma 🥰💞
My grandma used to sing that song while cooking. Every time it makes me cry for I miss her so much. Thanks for your cooking!
Anita Oviedo my grandma used to sing too when cooking. Miss her so much 🥺
I don’t have the money nor time to make this recipe but I still watched it because life is too short to not enjoy watching a wonderful Italian grandma teach people how to cook Italian food
You are amazing grandma Gina and despite only just now finding your channel and not having the time or money to make anything you show in videos you gained a new subscriber
Greeting from Michigan!!! Hopefully it’s warm wherever you are it’s cold here in Michigan and I want it to be warm quickly😂
I Love when you sing You make me Happy TOO!!!
I love that you put the recipe right here so i don't have to click a link; i like to watch the video while i'm cooking and i love the singing! Ty
Hearing you sing is the best part of watching you cook your delicious meal. It brings me back to my childhood and makes me miss my grandparents and family so much. Oh what beautiful memories you inspire!! Can’t wait to try this recipe. God bless!
I could not have said it better! I remember my grandmother making meatballs and they would sit in a plate on the stove after frying, before they went into the sauce! And by the time they went into the sauce, there were a bunch missing! Yum! Thank you Gina for helping me relive those days while learning to cook my favorites for my family! God bless!
I haven’t had good spaghetti & meatballs since my husband passed 2 years ago. My granddaughter has been asking me to make “Papa’s meatballs”❤. Since he cooked similar to Gina (with singing Italian songs), I’m watching to refresh my memory. He liked to rinse the jars with a little red wine 🍷
She is the best. !!! God bless you Gina.

This pandemic has me feeling isolated and lonely since my area is pretty high risk, but this video helps so much with the anxiety. 😌
I like that you added the onion n garlic to the oil, that will add so much flavor , my nonna never did that and i think I’m gonna try! ricetta perfetta!! 👌🏻 🇮🇹 🍝
Same here! Gonna try it too!
Just made her meatballs.
Best I ever had or made. Kids loved it too.
Thanks grandma for elevating my cooking.
God bless you sweet lady❤
Nonna Gina - I would like to know the prayer you say before shaping your meatballs - what a wonderful way of paying homage to God for the food you are about to make. You remind me so much of my grandmother, from Borgetto, Sicily, Maddalena Cassara. I learned by watching her. Unfortunately she passed in 1963 when I was only 11. My mother has told me my meatballs are the closest to her and my gravy also. My grandmother used bread and milk in her meatballs - things have progressed and I make mine like yours, except I do add a bit of milk which really makes them tender. God Bless you Gina, I hope you continue these videos for a very long time.
Right as I am about to shape the meatballs I make the sign of the cross and in Italian I thank God for his beautiful blessings. Thank you for watching and for your kind words. God Bless.
She says: In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirt. Thank you for this beautiful day.
I’m 84 yrs old . I was moved to see this wonderful tape. I’m transported to my grandmother’s kitchen. But most of all, the accent! I was back home !
