The thought of being in a rough spot and having a neighbor bring over a platter like that is really heartwarming.
Exactly my thought!
if you live in poor neighborhood? pretty sure some people don't live in poor neighborhoods? but the thought is nice, IF you have poor neighbors!
@@jrx2662 The "rough spot" I'm talking about is if someone is to sick too go out for dinner or groceries, or perhaps they're grieving some sort of loss. Bringing food to someone in that situation is common practice.
It wasn't too long ago that the only food you could get delivered to most American suburbs was pizza. A big platter of spaghetti and garlic bread may not be the ritziest thing, but it's a cozy meal and a kind gesture, especially if it's homemade.
it's just my opinion!
@@jrx2662 It's even better the next day.!
I'm gonna tell you something: this is the most delightful cooking video I've ever seen! Julia makes cooking so approachable. Love her!
Totally agree! She makes me feel good.
I think the home kitchen setting instead of the test kitchen with other people around makes a huge difference too. She doesn't need a co-host
Julia is the best chef on RUclips. She should have a network TV show. 😊
Maybe two even.
My sentiments exactly! I have thought this for years. Julie is the BEST of the BEST!
Agree!
Julia and Bridget are like my aunties that made great food ALL the time!
YES…. She’s my fave!!!
I can't tell you how much you fit right into our family! Watching you is so homey...it hits all the feels
awww
She’s the best!
I thoroughly love watching Julia cook. I feel like I am right there with her. She is so nice, funny and generous. Her family is so lucky to have her cook dinner for them. Yummy!
I agree with you all the way, she has the personality that shines with sincerity, love, knowledge, in short a beautiful women that has a true God's Angel 😇 personality. What a joy to have her to teach us how nurture ourselves in the most delicious healthy way💫🌟🤗🎵🎶🥰
There is a joyous frenetic tempo whenever Julia cooks…..love it and Julia 🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦
So I'm obsessed with Julia Childs and Ina Garton but no one comes close to my obsession with Julia and Bridget on ATK. How cool would it have been to be one of your kids growing up in your household wow you guys are amazing love you bye
That looks so yummy and easy. I love watching Julia, she is so funny and interactive. Thanks for being you.
This video format - putting a family meal together - is wonderful. And that unique recipe for the meatballs. Can't wait to cook this for everyone.
Just watched this video for the third time. Made that meatball recipe 3 or 4 times. They are tremendous. Thank you Julia for what you do with food and publish it for all.
Sounds like I need to try making this!
I love Julia’s comfort with the camera! She is a great chef and a great at-home cook, and I thoroughly enjoy watching her every time. I also love the thought of bringing food to a neighbor having a tough time….lovely and sincere.
You are such a fun, down to earth teacher. So easy to learn from you!
Loved watching Julia Unplugged.
I love watching this lady cook! Especially when she’s at home, more relaxed that way. Julia explains everything very well, and I just love the little personal tidbits she throws in there.
...what a presence Julia brings to her vids.
I have to say this is one of the best videos I’ve seen with Julia maybe even ever. She seems to be more natural and less scripted. I love this video.
I never thought of adding the pesto to the meatballs and then having it meld into the sauce takes out the measuring of the herbs, great idea❣️
I’ll try this recipe tonight! A favorite tip of mine to cook meatballs and sauce is to do them low and slow in a crockpot all day. The meatballs flavor the tomato sauce as they cook and the tomato sauce helps tenderize the meatballs and adds to their flavor. Win-win and they come out amazing. I do this before I leave for work in the morning and when I get home I just need to cook the pasta, throw together a quick salad and dinner’s on!
That is a great tip. Going to try the crockpot next time I make meatballs. I usually bake mine and they sometimes come out tough.
I have made this exact recipe several times since I discovered it back in April. It's great! Sometimes I baked the meatballs instead of frying them, but they turn out delicious either way.
Good to know, thanks Louis! I'm going to bake them and spray with a bit of olive oil.
Any particular brand of cold pesto? I live in TX. Thank you!
@@janmac218 Rana is the one that's used in the video, and I'm able to find it in the better grocery stores here in the Midwest.
Is this ground Breast ?
@@louisrios5546 Thanks Louis. I'll see what Whole Foods / Central Market offers here in Dallas. I guess if I just want to experiment, I'll go with what they have.
I LOVE this at home format.
Brava, Julia! After watching you on "televison" for decades, it was a great pleasure to see you cooking at "home." My heartfelt gratitude...
This is one of all-time favorite recipes of yours, Julia! It is quick and easy to prepare and delicious! 🤗
Julia, I could watch your recipe videos all day. You’re SO relatable. You feel like “family”! ❤

Can't wait to make this garlic bread! Looks amazing.
Julia I have been watching you for a while and I love how you give the recipe ingredients and how adept you are. As one commented that would be a welcome meal when you are in need. 👍
I love these home videos Julia! Your candidness of how you truly cook at home is perfect. Sometimes TV cookery shows can be a little too much perfection 😉
Now I’m hungry. Darn you! Guess what I just HAVE to make now? ❤p. s. Absolutely love your presentation talents and genuine sense of humor!
Loved this episode. Definitely making this. Julia is so down to earth and funny.
I promise, I will be back, to tell how this entire meal worked out for me, because I trust this recipe, it’s going to work, the ingredients are perfect and she added more in this video. Thanks Again, ATK and CC❤️❤️👍🏾👍🏾🙏🏿🙏🏿😊
CAn you imagine being taught how to cook by this amazing lady? I am a total mess in the kitchen, and even I could cook after instruction from Julia.
Looks delicious!!! Can't wait to try toasting the garlic 🧄 for garlic bread! 🥖
I really enjoy your tips, tricks, recipes and joyful personality! Thank you Julia for sharing! 💗😋🍝🥖🧀🥗🍅🧄🎶
That garlic bread!! OMG my mouth is watering! Not to mention the meatballs! Thank you Julia for making this! I already had dinner and now I want this!
Julia the pesto has to make a meatball perfection!!
Thank you so much! YUM!
Especially Turkey as not as much flavor as beef.
Love your personality! Keeps us watching :))
I was able to have supper with Julia in her house in Cambridge with my then girlfriend. The meal was amazing but Julia herself was even more brilliant. Your sauce looks amazing!
My French mother made a salad every day just like that. We always ate it last after we ate dinner. She said it is good for digestion 🇫🇷
The best garlic bread I've had was at am Italian restaurant in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. I keep trying to recreate it. Maybe this garlic toasting is the magic!
Julia you should have had your own show YEARS ago! You are an absolute pleasure to watch.
but she is such a good fit for the ATK family, I have mentioned that people come & go, this crew I want around because they are just all around great people, kind, clear and concise in their delivery.
@@karentaylor2160 I agree with that, Bridget is a charmer also. No I wouldn't want her to leave ATK, I just would love to see her spread her wings a bit that's all, she has such a commanding yet warm presence.
@@karentaylor2160: I love Bridget and Julia. So fun and informative to watch.
Julia, you make me smile, how you make your meals, I bet you are a great cook..
thank you 😊
I love watching Julia and Bridget! And spaghetti & meatballs is my #1 favorite meal.😋
Love this show so much! No religion, no politics. Just friendly people making good food.
sounds like another meal worth trying in my kitchen Thanks
Great rhythm to this meal coming together
Julia, you are so fun to watch! I laughed out loud at some of your comments. Will make these meatballs soon.
My mom makes her salad the same way, uses olive oil and salt and it's delicious. That's what I snack on, romaine lettuce with OO and salt. Yum.
as an italian american boy myself- its all about the salad on the same plate!
I have been watching since you originally started on test kitchens. Hahaha. You probably won't see this but I remember when you originally did this. But enough said, your dishes have been in our home for years now. This was such a nice reminder why I love watching and seeing the new people who came around.
Love all the tricks like rubbing the bowl with garlic & quick roasting garlic in a saute pan. Wonderful recipe to save under "tried & true!" Thank u Julia! 🙋♀️❤🍽🎯
Great to bring over to someone who just moved into the neighborhood.
Sooo yummy! The dish makes my mouth watering.
Thank you so much for sharing the ingredient! 🙂
Absolutely Amazing! Much Love!
Love love love❤her energy and happy voice
I am going to make it
Looks so easy and yummy
Thank you ❤
when i drain pasta I usually put the strainer on top of the measuring cup so when i'm draining the water most of it goes into the cup
Brilliant! Thank you.
*First of all, I LOVE YOU!!! Second, Chubby is good!!! Thirdly, I love garlic and onion. Fourth, personally I prefer beef & pork for my meat sauce. (I leave the meat loose in the sauce. I also use ketchup and tomato paste. For my salad, instead of oil, I use garlic and onion powders plus a bit of cummin and paprika and salt & pepper.*
I like videos like this where a whole meal is being put together, step by step
I imagine sitting in the kitchen with Julia, sipping a glass of wine, enjoying her company as she creates this homey meal, and that’s how I go to my Happy Place. 😊 Thank you, Julia!
Julia D. I LOVE YOU TO THE MOON and BACK, you’re truly the sister I wish I had, I love almost every recipe you prepare, I am older now and for some reason, you finally made sense to me for preparing one of my favorite meals, GOD BLESS: you, your family and Everyone at both ATK and CC, I love and appreciate all the demos food, equipment & tasting of products. Thanks for such a special shows ❤️❤️👍🏾👍🏾🙏🏿🙏🏿
Great twist on meatballs I usually would eat the entire serving of what you made when I lived alone. We Sicilians like to put small chunks of garlic and onions in the meatballs. This video gave me an idea on how to cook the pasta can't wait to try it. Love you guys♥♥♥
Watching cooking programs- like this- the hosts make it look easy enough that everyone can and should try these recipes! Thank you!!
Julia is one of my favorite, favorite chefs, and she is so beautiful.
Greetings from Costa Rica ❤
My mouth is watering as I watch this!
U people r awsome...the perfect people made by God..
I like that Julia is using my favorite brand of knife -- Global -- even though ATK panned it in their review of chef's knives, (And I have spotted her using a Chicago Cutlery santoku knife ... not that there's anything wrong with that!)
I love your ATK videos and your “at home” ones. You are a joy!
Julia just love your videos Your such a wonderful lady sharing your fabulous recipes … You are a ray of sunshine with your beautiful smile and warm personality 🌺🥰🌸❤️
Julia, I love your videos. I am so hungry for your spaghetti, meatballs, garlic bread, and salad. Thanks for sharing.
We have spaghetti on Sundays or if family visits. I’m not Italian but that’s what we do for family meals. Who doesn’t love spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread!
Grass clippings.. dying over here! Another winner from my favorite gal. ❤️👍🍝

You are fantastic 👏 Love seeing you and having that warm feeling of family. Blessings to you and your family.
Well now I want Spaghetti and a ton of garlic bread. extra sauce for dipping of course
spaghetti and meatballs is such a comfort food. thanks for sharing. I like the thicker type of spaghetti noodles. you can appreciate the al dente bite to it. wish I was one of your neighbors. will try making this one day. probably a little more like a weekend meal for me.
This has become my go to recipe for meatballs when I want to make a comforting Sunday meal. Thanks!
Your roasting of a spatchcocked turkey brought me here and your pesto turkey meatballs keep me coming back for more.
Thanks to every at America's Test Kitchen who was involved in the process of creating this video.
I love this Channel for it's implied meatball humour.
Plus, it has the best recipes. Thanks!
Looks delicious

You are a great teacher. No pretense. Thankyou.
Hello homemade sauce...goodbye Prego! I always thought that spaghetti sauce was way more difficult than that. I can't hardly wait to make this for my family. Your video is awesome. I feel like I'm sitting at the counter watching you. Thank you 😊
Love garlic bread, my favorite with Pasta, thank you for sharing this recipe
Julia needs her own cooking show.
Her down to earth energy is exactly what we need.
So satisfying to watch
Garlic bread was a hit. I liked the meatballs but one kid did and one kid didn't. My wife scarfed It down so she must have liked it. thanks so much.
Julia is the best!!! Cracks me up everytime!!! Where is that white spatula!" Wash it, I just used it on the garlic spread!" - it's OK, dogs love garlic!"
Second time watching, so enjoyable! Making spaghetti now.
Love the pesto meatballs, Adam’s garlic bread, and “simple” delicious salad-Sparkles! So many great tips, thx!
I also like the ATK drop meatballs in oven .
