I hope ATK keeps making "At Home" shows. It's great seeing each host's personality and hearing their anecdotes. It's also really helpful seeing how they riff on recipes and techniques (see 19:01). Overall a wonderful companion to the studio shows.
Can't wait until l make Julia's delicious chili with rice and these Pork chops and butternut squash. I love her presentation regarding cooking...she makes it fun !
“zone out, forget the day and just cook a good dinner!” Amen! My sentiments exactly! That said, butternut squash is one of the things I ALWAYS buy pre-cut or even cut in half and sold in halves in plastic wrap. It’s just too cumbersome and potentially dangerous if you’re not perfectly steady with a razor sharp knife. It’a just not a risk I’m willing to take!! But this meal looks absolutely delicious!!! Yummy! Thank you, Julia!
I love that Julia's pots, pans, and cookie sheets aren't shiny and new. Those cookie sheets look like the ones that we've had for over 20 years and they've seen many a good meal cooked on them.
As a senior I've cooked a many pork chop and in the later years butternut squash meal. But after seeing this it's a must try this for me. Sounds and looks so delicious. I've watched America's test kitchen for so many years love it as well and your channel as well.
I love pork chops and with that coating combination and roasted squash, my mouth is drooling. Love your cooking and presentation style I'm copying the recipe for dinner next week!
You ma’am are an excellent teacher! Thank you so much. My Mother in law use to make cornflake pork chops and they were my favorite, thanks so much for this video.
I've often had a plate of roasted butternut squash as a snack. My mum makes a lovely roasted butternut squash soup, what's lovely with some of her home made bread.
Julia, I would like to try this recipe using extra firm tofu! I am a vegetarian and this seems interesting and intriguing to try! Many thanks. I would serve this with your roasted butternut squash but instead of using pomegranate seeds, I would use candied craisins! MANY THANKS! :)
I must try this recipe. I always get the very thick pork chop at Costco the price is amazing. I can probably get three pork chops out of one of the very thick chops. The recipes from America’s test kitchen are the very best. ❤️
This looks delicious. I’ve only had pork chops once and didn’t like it, would definitely try these! And I love salt and pepper on a salad, most people don’t put the salt.
Watching you prepare this squash makes me feel as if I’m sitting on your kitchen stool at your counter, talking and laughing with you. I wish I were your neighbor. I think we could be good friends. Happy Thanksgiving! And merry Christmas to you and your family.
I'm also not an applesauce and pork person. I love home made applesauce. Chunky, with cinnamon. But I also love cornflakes breading. I would eat my porkchop plain, cut to bite size pieces. This is a beautiful, enticing meal.
growing up my mother made pork chops and chicken this way. Only difference was that she baked them on the wire rack you set them on. We’re really good and brought back good memories….😁😘
Julia, love your pork chops , will be making them this weekend.l enjoy your cooking shows. You make a mess an clean after, love that. You make me feel like your my next door neighbor.Thank you.😊 26:28
Just made this and froze some. I used pork tenderloin instead because that is what I had. It was so good it was moist and crunch. 100% recommend people try this recipe. The dijon paird so well with the pork!
When I was in 2nd grade we were asked to imitate a commercial and I did "shake and bake"...and I helped. FYI mom never bought it, not once, her porch chops...never made them.
A little tip for the cornstarch coating : Put the meat and die cornstarch in a ziplockback, close it an shake it. Clean and easy way to coat all the meat at once without the mess ^^
looks amazing, I'd mix the remaining breading ingredients together and just form a meatless patty at the end. since you mentioned how you like the breading, youre gonna love it
Hey Julia great video. I can never get butternut squash to be thoroughly cooked but not mushy? How about a chicken breast and acorn squash dish? I have acorn squash and need a recipe.
Pork chops are challenging for me. If it's not coated , it is dry. Then what do you pair it with without needing high carbs ? I appreciate this Julia , this is one balanced meal my brain is not frazzled.
I LOVE Julia's down-to-earth, honest, sincere, presentations. No pretense, no shame.
Yep
@sarahdoanpeace3623 And she has a wicked sense of humor too!

Julia did much of this in real time. Impressive!
This looks amazing and I love that you can freeze the pork chops before cooking and bring them out for a weeknight dinner!
That baking sheet looks well loved and used - perfect!
I love how Julia’s “rustic” pieces are more uniform than I could even get them 😂 Such good knife skills…
She’s a pro and such a delight to watch.
Always learn so many tips and tricks from Julia. Thank you for the instructional video

Lovely meal, lovely presentation, lovely, talented presenter.
I love pork chops! And the squash and salad with it looks like perfect combination.
It's such a joy to hear about a not-so-well-known spice and the experience it brings to cooking.
My mom would love this meal! Going to make it next week for her - and slice up a loin roast to do it too!
Looks delicious! I never thought to cut my own pork chops from a tenderloin. Great idea!
Cheaper that way....plus you can make any thickness you want

Nice, this is one of the more "real" and unique recipes I've seen from the test kitchen. Probably because it has lot's of home flair.

Another great recipe and presentation! The question is, Do you have kitchen cabinets or don't you ; D
OK, Julia using a dog bowl as her 'garbage bowl' is absolutely genius and I've never even thought of it
🎉what temp are they cooked to?
If you don't have buttermilk can you use 2% milk with some vinegar in it?
Looks great. Where do I get that blue knife?! 😍
@@sandrah7512 Thank you!

I love the pink and blue knife. Where is it from?
Feder Knives.
What brand is the fish spatula?
4:50 "this is a beat up baking sheet" No, that's a well-seasoned baking sheet, Nothing wrong with that at all.
❤🥰 Julia is such an unbelievably gorgeous woman in all ways. She seems incredibly perfect in from my perspective 😍🤩
I want gravy!
Love me some Julia@Home :)
Great recipes but even better, permission to have a battleworn roasting pan.
This was 11/10
You made me laugh tossing the salad with the spoons but then I agree you agave to use your hands. Dinner looks and smells wonderful!!
