Rome 1 had absolutely flawless main theme and I feared what would they replace it with in Rome 2. I must say, I'm surprised but this is a worthy successor in every sense of this word.
That masculine urge to form an empire and take over almost 2 continents.
That's what this gives.

There are many things wrong with the Total War series, more so than ever with Rome 2, but bad music has never been the problem of Total War.

Actually no, people should NOT stop complaining because even after 12 patches, the game is still a total mess with horrible, horrible AI bugs (and quite a few non-AI-related bugs). The only thing that makes the game somewhat enjoyable to me is the Divide et Impera mod, but even a mod can only do so much for a (not even) half-finished product.
TW has 99 problems but the music ain't one...
It was a huge issue with Rome II and Empire.

Why should people stop complaining when they were sold a faulty product? I agree that after 1+ years of patching and even a revamp (emperors edition), its a decent game. But it was a disaster at launch and to say people shouldn't complain because it became a passable product after over a year of patching is ludicrous.
You can deffinatly hear the greatness, the wonders and the tyranny of Rome in this theme... I love it!
Rome was still less tyranical than other barbaric states like the celtic and germanic ones, african ones, the best are greek states, Roman empire and carthago the most civilised places to live

@@JJaqn05 I find the Romans and their contemporaries such as Carthage, the various Diadochi, or Persia, were about equally as capable in their brutality and capacity for tyranny. The difference is that the Romans came out on top - became the biggest mark in (at least western) history, and we tend to remember their displays of both greatness and cruelty more than others as a result. History does not delegate much room for the losers.
I prefer this theme to the one in the original game. Hate on me all you like, but i absolutely love this composition.
Both themes are fucking masterpieces in their own rights.
Their both wonderufl peices of music. This one is like a nostalgia of how Rome dominated all of Europe. 1st game's theme is the glory of it

2nd is Attila theme, combination of savage and epic

One thing Ive come to appreciate about this composition specifically this Track is that it portrays the History of Rome Through instruments such as the trumpet/horns that came in midway* to signify The Imperial Call or Legions Amassing, even the transition from Rome as a Republic to an Empire is symbolized in the rise of the song to slow fading out at the end.
Kingdom of heaven Long Version 9.5/10 and my top sandal movie.

This has more serious and realistic sound to it, while Rome 1 music was over the top epicness. Personally i prefer over the top epicness, but this is a great piece of music and worthy successor imo.

Ender Karabıyık Atilla did not destroy Rome, the Marian reforms and prevention of the Gracchan land reforms had probably done enough. Atilla didn't even conquer Rome, I believe it was the Goths, but don't quote me on that.
Not to mention, Rome's seat of government had been moved to Constantinople centuries ago, and the East Roman Empire, which was very much Roman, survived for centuries after.
@@FlameofAnor-xo1ms I am afraid that Rome is still on today. Some of their political reforms are still into effect today (of course modified but inspired from them), or at least in Europe. We still have a prefect, a notary, we have roman law or civil law as we call it, plumbing, the senate, corruption :). Between 60 - 70 % of the European roads are from the Romans, we built highways over them. The EU built and build networks of highways that connect all of Europe, just like the old saying ... All roads lead to Rome. EU is in a way a continuity of Rome,

Yeah its a good theme, instantly sounds right for an RTW game, I also really like Rome 1 theme as my personal favorite though, maybe because it sounds nostalgic to me now.

I had no idea historically that Caesar was known to dismount and fight alongside his legions... and was probably one of the most skilled swordsman in the entire Republic at the time.

First time I loaded up this game... I sat there for a half hour just listening to this... I was hypnotized.
It's not the Rome I theme but It's different... in a good way too.

You do know you can turn the AI turns off, so you don't need to watch any of there moves what so ever. It more then halves the turn wait time. Only time you see AI moves is if you are attacked and you need to fight or retreat. This feature is in the settings and has been there from release. Hope this helped

I knew I should wait a week or 2 because I know that a game like this is likely to have weird fps issues as it is a massive game. It will be fixed by then because every video I have watched has had comments about this problem and they will know that by now.
i think he likes the game, and so do many others, yes it has many faults but its still amazing. he nor anyone else is a tool for liking something dude.

I used to want Medieval 3 total war, but after seeing what they did to Rome, i am afraid to see what could be done to medieval 2.

A new army appears in Westeros, they speak a language no one knows but show discipline ferocity not seen in any of the Westrosi houses. They then march south to Kings Landing for they do not like how Westeros is being run. Novous Roma Invicta they chant.

I agree it is a rather bizarre state of affairs. But I'm sure CA are working on a fix. For example I heard that there were some major bugs when Shogun 2 was released but I bought it a month after release and had no problems that weren't on my end. This is likely to be a repeat of that. Unfortunate and irritating for those experiencing it. But take it from someone who hasn't had any problems with their copy: the fix will be worth the wait.

They are releasing the first patch Friday.I just read the news.Lso I need to wait for AMD to release new drivers that support Rome 2.I heard that is a problem too.
i sure hope so. and a turn-skip for the factions you're not playing would also be nice.
Why is everyone acting like there is no hope at all? CA is doing all they can to patch it up and the beta patch they released last friday actually fixed a lot of problems the game had. Sure the release was fucked up and they know, what can they do really with Sega cracking the whip forcing them to meet their deadline. All they can do now is fixed it post-release. We'll get our game working splendidly soon enough.

@@Palman97 the slavs didnt really exist during that time the people during that time were all celts recently smashed by the germanic zerg rush coming from scandanavia and the germanic tribes were living there and the steppe nomads were taking a good chunk of the land there as well
I'm retaking my exams this week. Had one on Monday and I've got a 2nd and 3rd one on Wednesday and Friday. I can't play Rome until weekend. I hope you can put some videos out soon so that I can watch them while I take a quick breaks from studying.

Probably because the soundtrack in empire was meant for the 17 centaury so it was made like that.

Funny how the guys who can run the game without 10 frames per second run Rome 2 better than Shogun 2 and we,who get 10 frames per second could run Shogun 2 on ultra and Rome2 not even on low hahahaha
