Meeting people blating music very loud there is a very random thing, as we (cataphils) do it quite often (in group or alone for those who are autonomous). There is a lot of people gathering down there every weekend but also during the week (for graffiti session or else). So I can assure you that the rescuer WAS ABSOLUTELY NOT part of the robbery plan. He told me about this story before I saw this video (which I did only today haha). Also, the place where these guys were lost is just next to a "room" (we call this kind of place which is not a gallery a "room", a place where you can sit down and chill) called "La plage" ("The beach") because of the huge graffiti of waves on the wall. It is a very popular place where cataphils can meet quite often as it is a famous crossing point, so no surprise to finally meet someone there. :)

It’s unfortunately common for “tour guides” to abandon you in the catacombs if you are a foreigner to France, my best advice to anyone outside of Paris wanting to go to the catacombs, make sure you find a legit tour guide. Not someone off Instagram, your begging to be robbed and abandoned at that point😂 there are many legit tour guides who will take you to the illegal tunnels but they are a bit tricky to find.

I've been in there. To go in with nom map, water . or food is very naive. Next time do a bit of research first as no preparation could cost you your life. This is different to standing on the edge of buildings etc. The catacombs are a place you could very easily never come out of.
For real. People forget that what would otherwise be a trivial injury becomes a life threatening injury when the odds of being found or calling for help are slim. Even climbing a well known mountain trail in a tame winter, tumble down a side, break your leg, stuck in a ditch, no phone signal, dead.
Does it really have any use to exhaust your energy screaming like girl in there. What helps is to have good visual memory and remember exactly the path you came from. Also you can think about which people you trust and how fast. This guy found this one person from Instragram and hadent known him for that long time, but still decided to trust him anyway, while they were so new in the relationship. People who you have known for longer time become gradually more trustworthy, so you should think about before trusting somebody this fast you havent even known for that long time.

There was a group that was truly deep in the catacombs - 20 miles when they got ditched. 20 MILES! Hours and hours. They found their way back by backtracking on their video camera which thank goodness they were rolling the whole time. Glad you got out. Lots of catacomb experts will leave you there. I just can't imagine who would do that. Sick people for sure. Good thing you didn't get pictures of skulls and bones - that's hours and hours in the catacombs 14 hours and would have NEVER gotten out without a guide or camera to backtrack. Cataphiles are a community consisting of thousands of Parisians (and others) who routinely host parties and gatherings in there, as well as maintain, clean, and help to map the tunnels. They were in a frequently visited section of the tunnels. So it was highly likely for them to be found. Thank fuck they kept their cool though, and didn't venture deeper in. They'd have never been found.
That's part of the scam. These guys are in it where one guy steals the stuff and someone else goes down there and blasts a speaker on full volume to make sure they don't die and find their way out. The playlist is probably taken from somewhere else.

me and my friends decided to go down there on holiday in paris, we didn't know it was as hectic and we got lost. we came across a group of people who were blasting music, we had to use a translator to talk but it worked. thankfully me and my friend came across them people or else we'd be dead meat

Companies pay youtube to advertise so therefore youtube put the adverts on popular videos. RUclipsrs cant put ads on their own videos otherwise literally anyone could put an advert on a shitty video that no one watches and would make money.

I've been in there. To go in with nom map, water . or food is very naive. Next time do a bit of research first as no preparation could cost you your life. This is different to standing on the edge of buildings etc. The catacombs are a place you could very easily never come out of.

Also you can think about which people you trust and how fast. This guy found this one person from Instragram and hadent known him for that long time, but still decided to trust him anyway, while they were so new in the relationship. People who you have known for longer time become gradually more trustworthy, so you should think about before trusting somebody this fast you havent even known for that long time.

There was a group that was truly deep in the catacombs - 20 miles when they got ditched. 20 MILES! Hours and hours. They found their way back by backtracking on their video camera which thank goodness they were rolling the whole time. Glad you got out. Lots of catacomb experts will leave you there. I just can't imagine who would do that. Sick people for sure. Good thing you didn't get pictures of skulls and bones - that's hours and hours in the catacombs 14 hours and would have NEVER gotten out without a guide or camera to backtrack. Fishy that the cataphile didn't even tell you what to wear and bring - not a good sign. Thank goodness that guy helped you. I've seen you tubers that run into people that won't even help them. No it’s not but it’s got so many twists and turns if you aren’t paying attention like probably most youtubers aren’t they just mindlessly follow with a camera lol they got thrown off. Imagine being thrown 20-30 minutes underground in a foreign country no service you are going to end up disoriented not really knowing where to go which way is right. As you saw they tried to find a way out for 30 minutes & probably went the wrong way ending up just deciding to sit and wait so they wouldn’t get lost anymore. Luckily they did.

You can see the part they are talking about recognizing the beer cans on the way out that there is someone waiting for them around the corner with a light making 5 people total. The guy who found them is called Alfie J. Baldwin, who's actually a pretty chilled guy. He's a high profile cataphile.
Cataphiles are a community consisting of thousands of Parisians (and others) who routinely host parties and gatherings in there, as well as maintain, clean, and help to map the tunnels. They were in a frequently visited section of the tunnels. So it was highly likely for them to be found.
Thank fuck they kept their cool though, and didn't venture deeper in. They'd have never been found.
