I ❤ this. I am working through some childhood trauma, narcissist mother etc. I finally allowed myself to be open and vulnerable with someone and WOW...the healing that is taking place. Its not so lonely...everyone is suffering inside too.

    Dan,
A message filled with hope and love. A message of faith. A message that embodies interconnection. Our nation, and very possibly the world, is searching for a life without fear, a life of love and connection. Stories like yours and Brene Browns are vital puzzle pieces necessary to make sense of the world in which we live. Life is not suppose to be lived in fear. Vulnerability, I believe, is the portal to living a life of love rather than one of fear. Thank you for sharing.

It’s especially difficult if not impossible for men to show any vulnerability even more so in romantic situations. I’m not talking about being weak in front of her as no woman finds that attractive. Im talking about just acknowledging your shortcomings or insecurities. The vast majority of women judge us for it, but sometimes it’s necessary to take the risk of being negatively judged. I for one have a damn wall and barbed wire around my vulnerabilities so it’s absurdly rare that I ever reveal anything to others
