Thanks dude, glad you appreciated it even if it's a little bit different. Don't ever feel compelled though, not every game is for everybody - there'll be some game I love that don't vibe for you, and some games you love that wont gel for me and that's okay.
@@Drone_101 Absolutely! Watching you play Mechabellum made me want to play too, but I refunded it after a game (even though I won it) because I felt I didn't enjoy the "stress" of improvising each turn. The game is great though and I still love watching your games, it's just not the kind of gameplay I'm confortable with in real time.
this seems very much like an off brand version of the kingdom series (Kingdom, Kingdom new lands, Kingdom two crowns) there are a few mechanics which are different such as how you go in to raid the bandit camps, some differences regarding money generation and storage and how they are raided, but all around I see little differentiating the two games (I also personally much prefer the aesthetic of Kingdom two crowns, it feels less hectic as well) the price point too is very similar, as as a base this game costs 5 bucks less than two crowns - 20 vs 15 (not counting the cents). if you buy kingdom two crowns on mobile, it only costs _7 bucks_ despite being the same game on mobile it is not labled as early access, which either means it is not planned on being developed further/is complete or that the devs simply decided not to label it as such all around, I do not have enough information to be set in any opinion, but this game looks too much like a copy cat. I hope for them that they manage to differentiate themselves somehow, because as is you get a worse experience for more money
note: kindom two crowns can be played in singleplayer or coop. it is also something akin to a roguelite since the buildings you build and people you hire do not all expire when you die, they drop over time as you are not on a map
@@olegoleg258 Yeah this is for sure cut from the same cloth as Kingdom, will admit it's been a few years since I played it though! I like the art style of this one - think it's very approachable for a younger audience. Think Kingdom is it's own beast with massive depth and complexity too!
I definitely agree with Oleg. This game seems to just be a knockoff copycat of Kingdom. While an inspiration is one thing, this seems more akin to someone just remaking the game in a different engine without much consideration for making the game their own or innovating on the concept. Kingdom is made by about as indie of a dev as it gets (it started with three people, for music, gameplay, and art), so seeing such a blatant copy seems like it's just trying to undercut the polish and effort of the original dev's work. I can't say I support these low effort copycats and I think that many of the parts of this game that are rough around the edges have tons of thought and polish behind them within the kingdom series. If you haven't played the later versions of Kingdom, that might explain where a lot of the sense of novelty you found in this game came from, as they really pulled further away from the original game's formula and developed the progression into a broader set of mechanics in new lands and two crowns. I would recommend looking into two crowns to anyone wanting a properly polished version of a game with these mechanics, as it has much more variety and detail behind every little piece of the game. I've supported the Kingdom series since it first released, so while I would be happy to see a game take the concept and overall idea to do something novel or innovative, this is not that, unfortunately.
Does seem like an enjoyable little game. Editing drn getting a bit of work in too, even in a game not so tactically detailed as mechabellum. Keep up the good work!
@Drone_101 to be honest with you, I haven't done much ranked matches lately. I've mostly been playing 4 player ffa with friends, just running meme builds 😅 Only reason to play ranked would be to try and face you so I could be in one of your videos!
@@ebenmaynard7274 Haha, your best chance will be in the Weekend Asian cup this weekend! I'm kinda the same - mostly playing 2v2 with friends and chilling out whilst enjoying the game.
Have you played Ratropolis? Similar theme but it's also a deckbuilder. You can pause to read the cards and explain your thought process. For this reason, I think it's good for streaming/presenting.
Oh, I like some laid-back simple tests/presentations like this. If you wish to do more I won't complain!

An unexpected type of video, but a welcomed one!
Thank you kind sir! Glad it wasn't an unwelcome surprise :D

@@kingr1799 Fair enough, will admit I've only played the original Kingdom and New Lands and even that was a few years ago.
New Mechabellum update looking fire!
Hahaha, yep! The 2nd sidescrolling update :D
mechabellum? don't you mean elden ring?
Oh damn, I haven't played kingdom in a long time, but this brought back memories.
Haha, was my thought exactly when I first booted the game up! :D
Always happy to get a DRN video even if it outside the norm! Wishing you the best of luck and all the gold coins!
Hahaha, thanks dude! Good luck with the sledgehammers!

Thanks Werdna! Editing DRN sneaking in a few red arrows and movie clips so people know he's not being held hostage :D
That looks cool! 1 man games are often incredible labors of love.
Yeah - I defo have a soft spot for small dev teams! Know how hard they work and how much their projects mean to them, and how exhausting it can be.
It looks interesting, thanks for showing us!
My pleasure, how's the MMR grind in Mechabellum treating you? :D

Cool - I saw the reviews for that one and had it pegged down as a "try it on sale" game, but I'm looking forward to the day I get to give it a whirl!
Instructions unclear: im now 100%ing Kingdom classic.
Haha, good luck!
If you liked this game, you should try Thronefall!
Ooh! Nice thanks, hadn't heard of Thronefall looks fun! :D
fun fact: did you know you can heart your own messages? not only those of others :D
Would feel wrong for me to do so - sorry! :D
