Thank you for mentioning the Cream of Mushroom recipes as I shudder when I think of them. I make my own taco seasoning. I already had all of the ingredients except cumin and I picked up a container of it for less than $2, and it's actually better than the store bought. As for the Food saver, I rescued one that had never been used from the garbage and have been using it for three years. Ended up buying a bulk supply of bags for less than $20 and only use it when we have an excess of meat. I try to keep the meat in my freezer rotated but recently found a pack of chicken breast from two years ago that was still as fresh as the day it was put in the freezer. No, I wouldn't spend the money for a new one, but I sure do appreciate the one I have.
Most of my kitchen gadgets were given to me as gifts. As if I really needed them. But truth is I didn't. I hardly ever use any of them. At least it wasn't my money that was wasted. I didn't even ask for them. The people that gave me the items thought I would like them because they did. I could care less about the new fangled things. Just give me my cast iron cookware to cook my food, an oven to do my baking in and a good set of knives along with a couple other cooking utensils and I am set. Don't need anything else.
Lot’s of preppers have their pantries full of the stuff to make that casserole. They want to continue to live and eat the same way they do now. If things go really bad they won’t survive.
I’m in late middle age and my grandmother did have green bean casserole at holidays. Cream of Mushroom may have been different then; definitely no GMO, perhaps more “real.”
Most canned or boxed food had recipes for women to try. That assured that their products would be around a long time. And yes the products have changed many are bioengineered. My mother bought canned biscuits. I know the canned biscuits of today are not the same as the ones my mother bought. Many times we end up spending a lot more on groceries because of all the extra processed stuff that we buy
I don’t have one. I don’t need it. I have a couple gadgets that my son has bought me as Christmas or birthday presents. But I only have a couple gadgets
Bread fried in a skillet is very different than bread in a toaster. I am frugal and yes...I do use gravy mixes at times and I will buy creamed soups if needed for recipe. I do not buy brand name foods...I do store brands.
I actually prefer my toast browned in my cast iron skillet. I make all of my bread and it holds up well to toasting in a skillet. I am not trying to criticize ppl who have gadgets. Just saying most frugal ppl or even ppl on a tight budget don’t buy a lot of things that I mentioned in my video.
Well said. Love it ❤ thanks for sharing

I so agree! Who even eats that green bean casserole with condensed soup? Yikes

very well spoken dear
Simple and basic, you can’t go wrong.

@ and it’s not healthful, either. Sad.
A lot of women today love gadgets but don’t know how to cook
Everyone has a toast it cost 15 dollars
