With continuing uncertainty in the world, we are choosing to take action and be prepared for whatever comes, rather than being fearful. Part of that for us is keeping a year's supply of food stocked up in our root cellar and pantry so that if supply chain issues or natural disasters happen, we'll have what we need to keep our family safe. Aldi is one of our favorite places to find inexpensive organic items and staples to keep stashed in our prepping pantry, and today we spent over $600 on a giant grocery haul!

My son works at a grocery store and he texted me saying this family did an online order for$1200. He couldn’t believe it. Then he says they told him they only come to the store 4 times a year. I explained to him they were most likely homesteaders or live on a farm. They probably grow alot of food and process their own meat. Then I showed him how much we spend. He added it up and was amazed how growing your own food and processing it can save so much money. I am a prepper and canner but we live in town so we do what we can to save. We do not go out to eat or order delivery but cook at home. I keep a plan in my head of what I’m cooking for the week. Prices have definitely gone up.
That's definitely a large order. But I completely understand.
I hope that poor deliverer got a huge tip
Becuz he didn’t get pd enough to do that backbreaking work
Your son is learning some important lessons., how to be more economic and self-sufficient.👍 My younger son got married this year and is now learning to eat more cooked from scratch meals, as opposed to eating pickup or pre-prepared foods.😀
Our local store limits qty on on online orders
I do the same
People need to stop apologizing for feeding their families because some nuts are jealous! No one’s business! You do what you feel necessary!
Also a family of 8 here, yes it's not cheap. We love Aldi. It's about 30 or so mins from us. So it's not our regular shopping place. We have Kroger and a small Walmart (not a supercenter) in our town. We went to Aldi during Nov/ Dec and got some of the special seasonal items and goodies and stocked up on some of that stuff too along with things we needed for all the holidays that were coming up.
Now we have 2 winter storms hit us within the same wk and I'm glad we had stocked up when we did 💝
I shop at Aldi love their food. If you only shop once or twice a year look at all the gas money you save and wear and tear on your vehicle!!! That also adds up!!!
@@evelyndole4618 I shop once a month. I do an inventory, make a list, and only shop for what I need…mostly. 😉
Hello. I'm a french mother of 4 and it is the same in France. Prices have increased too. We must stop to eat differents sorts of foods or eat them for specials days. Thank you some much for your differents videos. It's give me a lot of ideas. Greetings from France, Orléans.
Josh's brother lives in the Murbach area. Blessings and thank you for your support!
I doubt it was Biden’s fault that prices are rising in Europe.
Hello from Scandinavia !
Really exiting to watch how people sort their food shopping in other countries.
Regarding this massive haul ;
Don't make excuses for being thrifty and clever !
Smart shoppers plan ahead, thus avoiding expired goods going in the bin...
AND SAVING MONEY !
Now the three Scandinavian countries have the same sort of currency, the "krone" (crown). Only the value differs slightly.
So Norwegians go on shopping sprees in Sweden, as food is less costly there.
Swedes shop in Denmark, and the Danes opt for German goods, south of the border...
When I retire, I'll move across the Swedish border, going back to Värmland, where my great grandparents came from, some 130 years ago....
Love from Oslo, Norway
😊❤
It’s smart to stock up before winter. If the weather is bad or you’re not feeling well, you don’t need to worry about getting to the store. I stocked up on paper products and wellness products as well. Btw the canned fruit prices at Aldi are really good because they are much higher in other stores.
Exactly
I retired back in 2020 and my husband will be retiring in another 2 years. We have been doing bulk shopping for awhile now and the prices have gone up quite a bit over the years. I find doing a haul from Aldis is the best way to go these days. I love that they are bringing in more organic products and still managing to keep the prices lower than other stores. There are stores here in NY I will not even go into because they just to over price. We by a quarter of a cow from one of our amish neighbors and the prices are much lower then stores right now. I love that I don't have to go to the store other then for when we run out of milk or frest fruit and veggies.
First time watching from Brisbane, Australia 🇦🇺, we love Aldi as well 😊❤
That has to be a good feeling to get your pantry fully stocked
Its a good feeling to have a pantry. To have hands to pick up a fork. Taste buds to enjoy it. A mind to decide which good food to eat or not to. So many good blessings 🙌
I love Aldi. I raised my kids on Aldi & now they shop there for their families.
40 yrs ago I bought very little at Aldi. I used coupons at other stores. I now do major Aldi shopping and have found it hard to go anywhere else.
The way lots of us Germans do it is to go for basic groceries first to Aldi and then to add a supermarket for everything extra. But Aldi is pretty good. They were one of the first supermarkets for example to sell organic food for really good price. And their wine quality is incredible and cheap...that's probably more expensive in the U.S.
Been a huge fan of Aldi for years! Just went and stockpiled today!
I feed a family of 4 and do once a month to 2 month stock ups on dry goods, Aldi is definitely my first stop hands down. For this winter holiday stock up that I just finished for the next 3 months (and holiday specials) I spent nearly 1700$ over 3 trips. I wish I had the room to store more long term but we live in a travel trailer currently while saving to buy land so storage is very limited. I love channels like this that show the importance of having food ready for your family and I can’t wait to implement the homestead aspect as well when we have our own land. ❤ thank you for showing how you do food😊
❤ Brought alot of memories of how we were raised.. Good way to go when you have a big family First timer. Love your show .bread recipe buns ❤
I go to aldis 1 time every other month to restock our pantry. We are a country family so keeping food stocked is important as we do not live in town. We do every other week shopping on the important basics milk, butter etc.
I liked after u said u could took more but they had a limited supply and u wanted to be thoughtful to others. I love considerate People! Especially knowing ur just stocking up and its not like a mess city to get everything exactly then
I stock pile too. People want it but i share sometimes but i do have to say i cant always give it away because its for my 6 months prep .
Aldis shelf staples is where we go also, bulk buying is exactly the right way to go. With prices flying higher n higher its a must do.
Great job, and super awesome helpers. Bless you all.
I put my baking stuff into storage containers and store them
Very helpful daughters. God bless you all
When you mentioned your family’s ketchup “addiction” it reminded me of my own family: one time my brothers thought we were out of ketchup and one would think the world was ending the way they reacted. Luckily I thought ahead and had some extra in our pantry (seriously, they didn’t know themselves?!).
Lol 😂 it's the truth... They do enjoy the ketchup 😄
Good day! I really appreciate all of your wisdom and advice in buying in bulk and storing wisely to last for a season. Fall is definitely a time to stock up for us and ideas on making things stretch a bit further and last a bit longer are spot on during this time. As always, love to join you on your adventure and thank you for the instruction! Have a blessed season!
Thank you for sharing your expertise. Mom of five grown children here. For peaches, in NE Ohio, around mid-July, peaches from CA or elsewhere come on sale for $1/pound the last few years. I buy flats of them... about 80 lb this past summer. Spread on counter on towels. Let ripen to perfection. Rinse, cut into 1/8ths and freeze. Perfect with oats and crisps all winter long. Also, you might find Bucca EVOO... best price I've seen anywhere.
Awesome haul 😮🩷
First time I’ve come across your videos, I think you did very well at Aldi! We love Aldi although there’s only three of us, it saves us so much, take care!
I love watching a good haul. Thanks for sharing. 😊
A $45 cart at Aldi’s is now $150 It’s sickening
I cry when I go in Aldi’s now - and WM
Where else can you go ?...
I’ve found that a lot of organic items are better priced at Costco. Two things I saw you buy here were specifically diced tomatoes and organic berries.
I used to order my groceries on line when there were 6 of us at home even though i worked in a supermarket. One of the delivery drivers once commented that the delivery should last for a month. I just smiled and said I'll see you next week.
I miss living on my acreage because I raised hogs, a couple of beef steers, and chickens. We butchered them and had our own meats and vegetables.
The price of meat is outrageous right now.
I also canned my vegetables from my garden.
I miss all of that because I didn't use chemicals on my garden and I knew how we fed our animals.
Oh, how I wish our Aldi had a motorized scooter for handicap shoppers. I used to love shopping Aldi. Their braunschweiger is THE best.
I’ve found a few store with them
Maybe you could ask them if they plan on getting one or two. The majority of the population is now older, so maybe inquirying would put them in the mind to get them.
We are a 3 generation family of 10 in Australia and we spend $1,000 a fortnight to feed us all some people will never understand how much it costs to feed a large family we meal prep and also donate to homeless nothing in our house goes to waste we also feed 5 animals within that $1,000 budget
Food has definitely gone up!! I am not one to go to Aldi's, but with how prices are going up fast at WM (which I don't do much there) and at our local store 5 min away, I went to Aldi's last week. It was about a year ago that I purchased avocado's at 49c and now they are 69c. We are retired, try out best to grow what we can, and what I do not process into cans, I like to supplement our pantry.
I think, considering your family size, that was a great shopping haul.
Thanks for sharing!!
What I have found: buy peaches in the summer (I got seconds) and can. It’s cheaper than buying small cans. I think vinegar is cheaper at Sam’s and Menards. I do go shopping weekly, so I take advantage of sales.
The new Aldi ad is out - they have lowered the price on butter to $3.49, also green beans 63cents, cream of mushroom 68cents, French fried onions $1.79 and stuffing mix 75cents. Lots of other reductions too. I first shopped Aldi in Florida years ago and miraculously about 6 years ago one was built in our town. LOVE ALDI!!!
Thank you
Wish they'd build on in my town, and a trader joes, and an icepland, but HEB has the grocery store monopoly here, and they still make their profit . Sickening
Different prices for different states/cities.
I'm finishing my winter stock up later this week.
I did a lot of it earlier this month but we'll, ran out of funds.
You know how it is.
I'll be going to both Aldi's and Walmart. I already have my list made.
I forgot to tell you. I'm 71 years old and am on Social Security since I'm retired.
I have a limited income as most people on Social Security have.
I've been so blessed by God that I've been able to get stocked up for winter plus adding to my stock pile.
My daughter calls it "my food hording" cupboards.
I call it being prepared because we don't know what the prices of food is going to be.
I was lucky enough a few years ago to be able to get a large upright freezer and I'm doing my best to fill it up.
I buy in bulk and then use my seal-a-meal to break it down into packages that I will use.
I really save money that way.
I did a small garden this last year because we are pretty much empty nesters and i was being lazy. We used to be a family of 9. We are now down to a family of 3. I am kicking myself. These next 4 years at least are going to be super expensive in every way imaginable. Back to my urban homesteading ways. Slowly stocking up on bulk items and getting organized. Big garden again this year (especially for tomato products). I'm already tired.
Love shopping at aldi , their beans are good and a great price for organic 😊
Shopping at Aldi's (been shopping there for years) makes me feel so smart.
God bless you and your family. ❤
I love buying Aldi pineapple... but I buy the slices and cut them into the chunks. I feel you get way more pieces than the chunk cans 😉
That would be interesting to see a side by side comparison.
I live in NJ and all food prices are astronomical I buy sale only, they had pasta at my grocery store last week .99¢ a box so I did a pasta stock up. Oh boy did I stock up. I will be hitting Aldi for the holidays, I hope.😊 Great video.❤
Jersey here also. Insane prices. Same buying habits as you. I cook and can a lot of things on sale and in season, but just the basics are crazy. It should not be this easy to get that free turkey from ShopRite.
@cbagot I got my turkey from lidl 13lbs for $5.00 they had a sale .39¢ a lb. So that's what we went with. Works for me. ShopRite prices on turkeys are crazy too. $45.00 ahhhhh nope.😉
We went to Dollar General to get just a few things to get by on until social security check comes. Could NOT believe how high prices have gotten at DG. Spent $80 for very little.
Its easy to spend 200.00 ...and I shop for one. You did well for that price.
My 4yo is watching this with me, and she just said, "she doesn't look like a mom... She looks like a teenager." Thought I'd share that with you, because I'd love to get called a teenager. 😂
@@tamarsisneros9360 lol 🤣😆 how sweet! Thank you so much for your kind words!! 💖
Yall do alot for your community and for rude trolls yo say that your getting more then you need or others go without (which is a lie() is just the elitists playing division games. May God bless yall
No, usually those comments aren't from elitists. They are from extreme liberal leftists who are pro socialism.
Wow compared to our prices in Canada,,,,that seems like a bargain to me. I need to do another stock up soon before winter really sets in. Great haul…..I always enjoy these types of videos. Thanks 🌷🇨🇦
Thank You For Sharing Your Grocery Haul With All of Us. You Do Have Alot of People To Feed. I Am Going To Be Restocking My Pantry Soon. Aldi's Does Have Good Items And Good Quality Too.As far As Other Peoples And Their Comments Just Ignore. You Know What You Are Doing And Its Your Money. Do What Makes YOU And Your FAMILY And Any Fur Babies You Might Have Too. God Bless All Of You.👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🌟
I have found that the prices at Aldi, especially, on canned good, have gone up 30-45%.
In Norway a 12 oz can of beans will set you back
$ 4.00 !
Needless to say bacon and beans is now a luxury treat...
Love from Oslo, Norway
😊❤
I am married with 4 married sons, and we don't buy tuna. Our family has local access to a well stocked river and we enjoy the outdoors. We do a few fishing/camping weekends through the year and catch all of the bass, drum, and catfish, our "now" 5 separate households need for all year. We pressure can the bass and drum fillets to substitute for tuna, and freeze the catfish for frying. A pint of flakey white home canned fish works great in place of 2 tins of the tuna, salmon, or mackerel. This is just one more way I was able to afford the cost of feeding growing teen boys. Hunting, fishing, gardening, and raising chickens not only saves on grocery shopping, but it kept us grounded in reality and too busy to binge shop for the latest useless "it" craze.
As someone who works as a Para, I stock up on things for us to live on. Plus my freezers are full.
I've always bulked shopped. We have a large family and come from homesteaders so just use to this way.
I think food prices are so high right now , even aldi has raised their prices , but still cheaper in the long run , I remember when the brown sugar was less than 1.00 a bag, and butter was 1.99 a pound , everything has doubled , we also make decisions based on needs or wants and purchase accordingly with prices so high .
I buy powdered milk and we drink that
Thank you so much for sharing your Aldi haul. I am trying to stock enough to get us through March, and maybe one more haul will do it. Love the channel and all its content. GOD bless
I am in the NE US and keep a price book. In the last twelve months grocery prices have risen 22% to 39%. I do not calculate off package prices but rather per ounce, pound etc.as well.
Great haul! My previous town had 2 aldis but I moved so the closest store is 134 miles 1-way. We're close enough there about 2x a year so i stock up then. There are favorite items we can't find in other local stores here.
We have had to move our pantry twice in the last year, so we used things up and are restocking every chance we get. I think, we have done what we can on food now we are on the expensive part. Propane , charcoal and smoker wood refills. Next is windshield wiper blades, snow brush, automotive oil & filters and have you seen the cost of car air filters!! I can only imagine how $$$ for people with farm equipment.
Yes I agree best way to go. As a single mom I have done this for years. My family isn’t as large now, but once you’re used to shopping this way you can’t stop. I also shop Aldi’s a lot because like you I love the clean food products and low prices. I buy some paper goods from them, but most of my paper goods I stock up on at Sam’s club. Publix is behind where I work and I go for the bogo’s as much as I can. We I make out of state trips every other weekend I shop Kroger 10 for $10.
HOMEMADE KETCHUP - See MORE THAN FARMERS with Michelle and Codi so good
Thank you
Or just don't use it
We live next to a local market in Oklahoma City. And the super Walmart is less than a mile away. It was just my husband & myself, now we have 4 foster children. ( ours are grown )
I could spend that just on the two of us but that was stocking the freezer also.
I need to order another beef.
I did not know you can freeze nuts or butter? I love Aldi
I knew about freezing butter, but not nuts😮
Everything is high and going higher. We now supplement regularly with food pantry foods.
Here in uk our prices are very good going by us prices so we’re very blessed I must admit I do prep for my family as you never know what could happen we also go Costco to ❤
The way our goverment are going our price hikes are set to be through the roof ! Not to mention the farmers protest etc I started pepping a month ago and have around a 6 month supply for 4 people. Now im even stocking up on horse feed. Its getting reall scary in the uk and i doubt many people will take notice until its to late :/
I love the PL Aldi. It’s so fun to watch your channel. I found you guys because I was driving behind you one day on the backroads 😆
We don’t live on a homestead. We have no root cellar, no land to grow anything and we are older. Good to see what you do.
The prices are ridiculous. But we are blessed for what we can buy. I get the white vinegar in the case for 2 of them big bottles for $5 from Sam’s club. Just thought I would share. We have a HEB here in Texas. They run sales all the time. ❤
That really is a decent dollar amount. People look at me funny when I use 2 carts. I only shop once a month. It really saves. I stay to my list. If you go to the store more often I find you spend more on impulse buys.
I agree. I shop once per month and pick up small things in between, but the excess impulse buying is indeed diminished with fewer trips to the store. I don't use lists because I like to see what is in season and what is in stock
The people have spoken and Aldi is BACK!!! 😁Glad to see you're still single handedly keeping them in business and fueling your ketchup addiction 😜 haha, just kidding, great video
We do most our shopping at Aldi. And that ketchup is fantastic, we get it as well.
Unfortunately Aldi is not all over the states. I used to live in CO and there was none.
love Aldi, came out with 6 bags of food (veggies, fish and fruit) less than 100 dollars, Which is 2 weeks worth for 2 of us.
Started using a combination of SAMs, Aldi, and believe it or not a Restaurant Depot! You can buy Bulk at a much cheaper price. Restaurant Depot has been a game changer for us.
@@FreedomKid100 Good tip!! Have to look into it. 💯
Check the label on that butter, I think it has canola oil in it. The green label Irish butter is a cleaner pick - comparable to Kerrygold.
Thought I'd check out this video to see if there's anything new I could pick up.....but watching you shop is exactly like watching me shop! Cracked me up....we literally buy the exact same things! So weird. 🤣
It's good to stock up if you live in an area with harsh winters.
Great tips, love your channel. People underestimate the power in preparedness. You should look into Ozio Medical! My husband and I recently ordered a Basic Emergency Medical Kit from their site. Such comprehensive choices & fairly priced. Gave us peace of mind in case we don't have access to healthcare in an emergency situation.
Yes, we have reviewed this product in the past and have heard great things about the company.

I love Aldi too. Love your video. Have you thought of doing an Aldi pick up order so the large quantities are not depleting the shelves for others? Maybe they could pull cases from the back? Thank you for sharing!
Their pickers pick from the shelves, not from any backstock they may have (Aldi stores don't stock a lot in the back).
Can't wait to try Country Life Naturals! Love Aldi's also!!!
@@aj8203 Great! Check them out here

love your videos. just a suggestion, buy some molasses and use your cane sugar to make brown sugar. Also, you can use your cane sugar and blend it in a blender to make powder sugar.
I watch seasonal items at Aldi. Their store band version of Bear Creek soup is really good. Last spring I was able to get it on Spring clearance for 99 cents per bag. I bought all they had, as will not go bad. I too purchased the organic ketchup and will continue to purchase more. One thing I am no longer able to locate at Aldi is their store brand of French Dresssing for salads.
I do a lot of canning, both water bath and pressure kinds. I made ketchup and I agree with you, it’s not a good substitute for store bought brands. I think the cost of beef is crazy expensive. A roast or steaks are not everyday foods anymore. I also find Aldi’s to be the best for prices.
I worked at a restaurant and we made our own ketchup. It was delicious. We used granny smith apples in it 👍
@@laurenschwilke1334 Wonderful! Do you have the recipe for it?
That is a huge amount of food for that amount of money, actually. Many people spend $300+ a week.
What a spectacular Aldi haul!! There will be two aldis opening near me and I’ll definitely be shopping often I had only been to locations in Texas and in Georgia
I just got a freezer to buy meat in bulk. I also write monthly meal plans so that I can make the most of the ingredients that I have, and have less waste.
I wish we had those grocery prices here in Canada.....so much cheaper in the US....😢😢
The Aldis in our area of ohio has been having major stocking issues so we have been having to shop sales at other stores. Prices are higher but I seldom pay more for products claiming to be organic unless there are fewer additives. Mainly because organics across the board can be very unstandardized and subjective according to the manufacturers discretion making you pay more for the 'idea' vs actual organics. That being said, I try to choose products with ingredients I know and can pronounce!😊
I live near Seattle, and we don't have Aldi. This haul would be at least $200.00 more here, and I buy store brands and on sale. We also have dietary restrictions that require heart healthy and diabetic friendly foods.
U have Winco amd Grocery Outlet tho!
I went to Aldi's last week to pick up things that I needed and I spent as much as I usually do there but I only got a third of what I usually get that's how high they went here in Southern Illinois
I havent looked into that Buhrmans steak sauce, but if you like A1 Steak Sauce, you can make your own really clean version with Aldis Ketchup. Thats what I do.
1/4 cup Worcester sauce
2 tbs ketchup
2 tsp soy sauce
1/4 tsp salt
Good haul. That's not a bad price for all that food - you could add another 100 - 200 onto that for up here. Butter up here is 5 ish USD per pound, ketchup is 6.88 USD, canned peaches are 2.36 Usd for regular ones and red kidney beans are 2.00 USD - just a few examples why I say add another 200 ish to the bill. However, I buy case of butter when on sale, can fruit in fall and what grow and do up the beans from dried beans. Makes sense for me to do this. A container of ketchup lasts me years so not a biggy. lol. Great video.
It's amazing to hear all the comments about the variation of prices. Thank you D! 😁
Hi D
@@anniemcelroy2812 Hey!
I got the 3 gallon bucket of Bacon Up from Bass Pro, it’s 99,000 calories for $59.
I have to say that Aldi’s held the line on the prices for quite a bit longer than many of the other stores did.
We are getting a brand spanking new Aldi’s in our nearest town. We are beyond excited. It’s being built right down the street from a big grocery chain store so prices there may become more competitive.
I can remember paying 19 cents at Aldi’s for tomato paste.
Breaks my heart when I pick it up now.
I agree with the stocking up to save time. Plus the less often I am at the stores the less money I am spending!!
Since you buy your sugar from Azure, some thing I’ve been doing for many years I do not ever buy brown sugar. I just use my favorite sugar and I use molasses. I believe the ratio is one cup of sugar to a tablespoon of molasses, although I never measure, I love the flavor so much better than regular Starbucks, but brown sugar. I’ve been doing it for decades, I thought this might be beneficial to share and I do like dark brown sugar so I I just do it and when I don’t do it unless I need it to top like oatmeal, but I just put the sugar in the bowl for how you know if it’s 2 cups of sugar cause it’s cup cup And then I would just pour molasses. Stir it up and continue with the recipe or whatever I’m making. Have a blessed day.
I make my brown sugar too and really like it better. It's delicious in my morning coffee with some cream!
Yes my guess was about a year ago at Aldi that would have been about 300 and something dollars The prices have went crazy I want to know how many buggies that took lol❤❤❤
Unfortunately only 2 shopping carts.
We make the trip to Plano Aldi because the sales tax is cheaper and so are many of the prices. We love our cashier Mary too.......
Staff is great there at Plano
I love that you can still get canned goods for a dollar or less. Everything I see is no less than 1.89 and thats because it's on sale. Ill have to take a look again but from what I remember a can of anything is $2-$3. Also in Canada, and live 2+ hrs in all directions from a city which doesn't help.
Except they are mostly liquid now, not near as much vegetable
I do once a month and I get those crazy looks as well
