@@ade63dug Glad to hear it. The video has been a bit slow to be honest. Im sure it will pick up once i made some cuts with it. Not everyone is that keen on watching the details. Hopefully get a few more views coming your way once its cutting wood.
Out of all the things people use the internet for...this "collaboration" is one of the more enriching examples. I was a little lost following what Ade's was building and why.. outside of knowing Kris posted this link on one of his sawmill (build) videos. When Ade, was finished I understood what he had built. Ade, it's so cool to see how "boss" your trade is! It seems that you'll be indispensable to Kris and his "Homestead" off grid aims. You should have gave a brief description of the "Sawmill" Kris has been working on and explained what is the purpose of the parts you had fabricated for him. This being said, I watched it all the way through and was glade I did. Ade, thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Ade. I paused Kris’s update and popped over. Your video took me on quite the journey. Back to metal shop class in 1981- your narration through your videoed process pulled memories of my time at the lathe and meaning to long unused words. Also, I thought of my grandfather, a machinist, who passed before I was born. ~Bendithion
Brought me right back to my days in a machine shop, always loved doing the custom stuff rather than running the same part for weeks on end, great job and hope there are more collaborations with future project Kris has going.
Great 👍 Work had watched Kris’s Video stopped by because I do enjoy machining Videos. Gave you my Subscription. Very pleasing explanations of what you are doing. 🇺🇸🦅🌏⚓️🇺🇸
A collaboration between two of my favourite channels....great way to start the weekend! Lovely job as always Ade, thanks for helping Kris out with the sawmill project....somehow I think he is going to be very busy with that machine when complete lol
Glad you enjoyed it! it is surprising that many of my subs follow Kris and vice versa although my channel is on a much lower level . it was great to work with Kris . Cheers Ade.
So cool you were able to help out Kris. Add, I have been watching your channel for sometime. Love see how much you can accomplish is such a little shed. All the best..... 👍👍😎👍👍
Hi there, visiting from Chris. Turning by a skilled operator always seems like some kind of magic to me. Had to look up the Pembrokeshire flag, as it has the Swedish colors going. I had no idea there was such a thing, cool. This Swede has learned something new today.
Came across from Chris's channel for a nose and im glad I did. You explained your work wonderfully - a pleasure to watch a craftsman at work ! . Regards Phil, a new subscriber from Manchester.
@@ade63dug Without making comparisons; and as much as I await Robin's and Stefan's uploads with anticipation, I've got to say you've got a great touch, great simple shots of the piece and a clarity of explanation that puts a lot of the monetised US channels to shame. Here's hoping your channel will bring you some of that you seek.
I came from Kris's channel. What a pleasure to watch you work. I'm not a machinist if any type and I really appreciate you talking through the operations in detail. I did get a bit anxious as your hands seemed to get a bit close to that spinning chuck.
Hi Matt . The camera can make it look that way . not a problem and I have been doing this for 40 years . I do have a huge respect still for the dangers though . I intend to keep it that way and keep my fingers . after all it is difficult to hold a well earned beer with a duff hand . Cheers Ade.
Really enjoyed your video. You have a great way of explaining what you're doing. I'm a long time (40+ years) machinist. I've used lathes, mills, drills, grinders, and machining centers. You're a very good hand at the lathe.
I'd always wondered how pulleys were made. The whole process is marvelous. Have been watching Kris since he started the round house. If he says you're good, you are GOOD! I subscribed. From the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul in Minnesota USA
I'm a massive fan of both your channels Ade (and Kris) - so this is amazing to see. I don't have many subscriptions in my youtube channel, and they are quite disparate, so the chances of two of you both coming together from different areas is slim - but here we are - you're working on something very awesome. Thanks for sharing! :-)
Hi Craig . yes it does seem a small world . Kris is about an hour from me but we do have a mutual friend . This was a fun project that was great to be a part of . Cheers Ade.
Coming over frim Kris's channel. Beautiful work. It takes me back to my apprenticeship at the RTB training centre at Brierley Hill. I loved turning and milling. Gong to watch some more now, pure nostalgia . Greetings from Hay on Wye area.
Found your channel after recommendation from Kris and I'm glad to subscribe. I did a one year EITB mechanical engineering apprenticeship in the early 80s but then went into a careerk as a cartographer so this is very evocative for me. I remember enough to appreciate your innovative approach to avoid being hampered by limited machines, we had a fully equipped workshop to choose from! Wish we'd had DROs though
Hi Ade, Just found your channel ! Starting to work through your playlist and already found some interesting projects! Good to find Taff on here doing engineering, I'm in Newport and began to think that I'm the only person with a workshop. Keep it coming !!
I've just subscribed to your channel. I watch Kris Harbour on his channel and got your name there. your work and the quality of your videos is excellent......
Thank you, Ade. I also paused Kris’s video to come see how you made the parts. Extremely informative, the combination of your skill with your competent use of your tools made this very enjoyable. New Subscriber. Excellent collaboration!
Some very nice work Ade. I have a Harrison L5 lathe from the 1950s and Myford Super 7 of the same vintage. Unfortunately niether have DRO - I see that you make great use of yours - perhaps I'll get round to fitting one on each of my lathes some day. Thanks for the video.
Hi Ade, greetings from Naples Florida. Per Kris’s suggestion I just watched your video before watching his. You’ve got me hooked, I just subscribed. Maybe one day we can do a collaboration too but I don’t know how we can mix a cooking channel with a machine shop channel. Hahaha. Great work, I’m so happy to have found your channel. Cheers.
Welcome aboard! I see what you mean , I did do a cooking video on making a veggie chilli a few years back but it bombed. Probably my least viewed video . I guess I am a rubbish cook but I have not poisoned anyone yet . lol. Cheers Ade.
Hi Ade, clicking the link you provided does nothing for me. Enjoyed the turning any chance you could give lathe speeds on these operations for us beginners, thanks.
A quick question Ade. Do you have a merchandise link? I have many doubleboost polo shirts and hoodies. How do we get the green jumper WITH holes? Also, a wardrobe change mid video! Great video as usual mate. All the best👍
Thanks 👍Kris is well worth following . He makes some great stuff in timber as well . A really clever guy who always has "a cunning plan" I enjoy it . Cheers Ade.
