Enjoyable review. I can tell from your reaction that the car must be good. Is the higher driving postion noticeable. My wife and I are retiring soon and we would prefer an estate car to a suv , and a higher driving position makes getting in and out easier.
Yes, its abit more comfortable to get in and out. I did like driving it like mosh Seats..Take a test drive amd let me know your thoughts, Peter!
Very nice review. No Seat in New Zealand either, and I hope they come here as it a nice and cheaper alternative to the Golf.

+TheGetawayer Hope you get the new Seat Ateca SUV on test, I saw it a few weeks ago at an auto show, really good in person, feels like an Audi, especially at the back. Funny thing, Audi had their stand next to SEAT, and their exhibited Q3 wasn't nearly as exciting or roomy ;-)
Hi I have my eyes on this model but a 1.6 4WD and i wonder if i will have to change the four tyres at the same time

Great review. You did a good job about this car. It is not the kind of car I would personally consider but after watching your review, I can see your point about value for money and yet getting a car that not only is 4x4 but is agile on the road when taking corners... I hope you will review soon E63 Amg as I would be interested to hear your views on this car (both if possible the 6.2 and 5.5 and maybe the new 4 litre engine when it comes out...)
+Nick Regnier Thanks Nick ! That's all I wanted to achieve: Showing people that this car is fun...About the E63: I don't think I can get one of those any time soon. AMG keeps its fleet on winter sleep now until Spring. However you can check out my C63 507 and SL63 reviews and the new C63 S so get my thoughts on those engines :)

Leider sind die VW-Diesel Motoren eine absolute Katastrophe. Kaputte AGR Kühler und Zylinderkopfrisse inklusive.... Die einschlägigen Kfz-Foren sind voll mit der Problematik. Egal ob Skoda oder Golf gtd mit dem bekannten CUNA 184ps Motor. Aber auch die 150ps Variante ist extrem anfällig. FAZIT Auto schön, Motor Schrott!!!
Sicherlich gibt es diese Fälle. In der Fläche allerdings muss man es anders beurteilen, weil es ja dennoch hunderttausende Fahrzeuge gibt, die ohne Mängel auf unseren Straßen unterwegs sind. Ich habe die Leserbriefe bei einem Magazin der Auto Bild betreut und bin deshalb ganz gut im Bild. Hoffe Du hast einen besseren Motor / Wagen für Dich gefunden. Unser Diesel-Touran (190 PS) lief über 150.000 km Dauertest ohne Motorschaden und wurde wirklich sehr sehr hart rangenommen

Very nice review. I always avoided those panoramic roofs, because of security in a roll-over situation. Maybe it is very safe, I don't know..what do you think Guido?
+E39ENTHUSIAST 90 Thanks ! Well, I think they test these roofs to very high standards. Not sure about the name of it, but the type of glass used is constructed so that it doesn't break in the same way as the side windows. Similar to the windshield, you get what I mean ? So I like the added light alot and would propably get it :)

I know that passing the US safety regs and emissions laws is expensive, but maybe offering SEAT in the US maybe a relatively quick Band Aid for VW brand woes here. Plus maybe SEAT could set an aggressive price point if these SEATs were assembled in Mexico and Tennessee.
+93455Driver They are on a very good way here in europe and for cheaper cars there's already Skoda. But who knows what the future will bring :)
Hi Guido.. What was the overall consumption in your 2 week "eperience" experience? the 180 hp petrol seams to be a nice engine for my driving kind..... Is it possible to keep it under 9 liter in (everyday use) on normal Streets (not offroad) ? Thx 4 this Review. cu
+Heisen Berg Well like I said this car had only 500 kilometers on the clock when I picked it up and was brand new. I'd say 8 liters should be possible without too much suffering, maybe even less. But you have to keep in mind that its abit taller and has awd. A normal Leon estate would always be a bit more frugal :) Glad you enjoyed the review !
I love this wagon! It's gorgeous. Such a well thought out design while being distinctive. And as you pointed out Guido, not available in Canada. It's your fault Guido. Thanks for rubbing the salt in our collective wounds.
I agree, this would do very well in Canada. I suspect the b9 allroad will come next year. The only issue I have with these type of cars is that they are jacked up all of the time. I live in Toronto and only maybe 20% of the year do I want or need this car to be jacked up like this. Otherwise I'd rather have hotter version with AWD like the VW golf R wagon...which you decided to not give to us in Canada either. ;) Thanks Guido.

I like the "mode" options, It really looks as though you can set the car up just how you want it.Something other manufacturers could learn from.

I used to dislike such cars as I thought they were completely pointless. Why would anyone want his estate to have any offroad capabilities, I reckoned. However, this Guido's review made me rethink my first impressions and he really seemed so honestly excited while driving it that I believe this car has to be great!
+Nik Brudar That's great ! I guess most people would enjoy this car, given the chance to drive it on different roads. That little bit of ' Rallye ' driving I did was fun for sure :)

Perhaps after the trade agreement with the EU gets ratified.
We can't even get VW to import the Scirocco any longer!! I owned a 86 Scirocco. After putting on 300K km I was able to sell it in one week.
The cable clutch was a helluva workout too for my left leg. I loved that car!
