44871 & 45407 Storm Blea Moor on The WCME 23/1/16

- LMS Black Fives were placed at the helm of the first Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express of 2016 after the late withdrawl of recently restored and booked locomotive 60103 Flying Scotsman. The tour run by The Railway Touring Company was running from Manchester to Carlisle via Wigan, Blackburn and the Settle and Carlisle railway. We see 44871 and 45407 in fine form firstly passing Selside and then attacking the climb up to Blea Moor tunnel on the outward leg of the tour on Saturday 23rd January 2016. Cracking footage Phil and Mark , the pan was spot on from Mark and what a sound from the pair . The angle at the first Blea moor shot worked superbly well with the final blast out of the short tunnel rounding it all off . Sorry Stewart and I did not arrive for the bacon buns .

Was a good trip behind those 2 that day I must say, but just a pity though that that run was to be the last trip down the S&C I will be doing for some time as it was shut shortly afterwards due to the landslip north of Appleby.
