I’m Japanese. Thank you for this lovely video. so lovely!! I’m a member of the deer protection in Nara and I have one thing I’d like to ask every tourist. If you found the baby deer with mom or being left alone, please do not touch them. It’s the peak season for deer giving birth in the park. Once human gets to close and touch baby deer the mom deer stop feeding the baby deer because of the human smell.
Please keep distance from the baby deer. Thank you. 👋🌸

Be careful with the deer. My friend and I were feeding them and the deer got too pushy. I shoved the crackers in my hip pocket. Some deer snuck up and bit my butt to get the food. The right cheek was black and blue for quite awhile. Of course it has been a good story for decades.

I was so close to visiting Japan at one point. I'm a Motion Capture actor and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity. That would've been a real dream come true to visit and work in Japan. Great video. Best of luck on your travels.

Oskar, what you say about the peaceful, spiritual effects of gardens is quite right. The environment affects our moods, spirituality, even our mental health. That is why planning laws should forbid brutalist architecture, mandate plans to replace it with human -friendly living spaces and even increase taxes on construction firms that fail to meet human-friendly building standards. Love this video!

I've lived in Japan for 30 years (in Kagoshima... much further south). I 100% have the same feeling about Nara and have since I arrived in Japan. If I were to live anywhere else in Japan (that I've visited) it would be Nara. I feel a level of natural comfort there. My personal Goldilocks zone.
I actually like Kyoto as well. Big but not imposing the way I feel with Osaka and Tokyo. And... you can actually get along just using buses. My favorite large city in Japan.
I'm guessing that you were there around the first week of April. I was visiting Osaka and Kyoto with my daughter the same week.
The eye test probably wasn't Japanese letters. It's usually just a round letter "C" that is almost closed. You have to tell the direction it points... which you can do with your fingers. BUT you'd also need to understand when asked which is better etc.

Hey boys always as ever a pleasure to see the pair of you having fun I think I too have fallen in love with Nara. It’s home,To2 of my son’s godfather;I watch the video when you first posted it and then called them because I recognise from the photographs they’re covered front door/gate which they confirmed and thought very funny. Such a shame they're able to be officially marriage in Jappan, but, tada, duel nations. They had a lovely wedding in London.
The deer were one of the first facts I learnt about Japan at school when I was seven obviously because of my friends I’ve always wanted to go and see them so we were making provisional plans for maybe next year, At about the time you guys are there, now.
Always so sweet to see the two of you together and loving each other’s company ;such wonderful role models something that wasn’t there when I was your age, Kufos.
As ever sending my very best regards/wishes to you and yours, safe journeys ❤️💯👏👏👏💥👊💙💙👌💯👋🌟’s💯✌️

Yes and no. We don't have an official capital city. Wherever the Emperor is, historically functions as the capital. So there were places like Naniwa-no-miya (Osaka), Ohtsu (Shiga), or Fujiwara-kyo. Heijyo-kyo is only one of many "capitals" within Nara prefecture.
