I‘m a Nara citizen. I appreciate you sharing information about Nara. ☺️ Now, I would like to write about what tourists should know about the food of the deer in Nara.🦌 The deer usually eat the brush grass and leaves in Nara Park, but the "deer crackers" that people give them are the equivalent of a snack. In order to protect the health of the deer, this "deer cracker" contains no other ingredients than wheat flour, rice bran, and water. ☝️ However, some tourists feed human food to the deer, which can make the deer sick. This is because human food contains sugar, salt, oils, fats, spices, etc., which deer do not naturally eat. There have also been reported cases where deer have eaten rubbish such as food packaging or plastic bags left in Nara Park, causing stomach blockages and death from lack of nutrition. We would appreciate it if all wise travelers reading this article would remember these two points when interacting with the deer in Nara Park: "Do not feed them human food" and "Do not litter in the park, but take your trash home and dispose of it." Finally, 1,300 deer are waiting for your visit. Thank you. 🦌🥰🍀
Oh thank you for the guide, I have a full day at Nara in December and I only had the park, the mochi shop and Todaiji as mi visits but with your guide I can add more places to visit during my day.
Thanks for making these videos. You used to include a google maps representation of your walks/travel to places, I thought those were really helpful too.
The room with the lit lanterns is year round. The lanterns outside the room are only lit three days a year, for two different holidays during those two months.
Generally no, though a lot of bikes here come with locks built in. So then you just take the key out and the bike's wheel locks. Usually it's a day rental!
Thank you! And yes, that's fine! Just consider the time it takes to get there from your hotel. But that's definitely enough time to do a fairly unrushed visit to all the essentials. :)
I should add that you'll wanna check the times everything opens. Not everything is open at 8, so you'll want to think about that when you make your itinerary.
I‘m a Nara citizen. ☺️ In the 19th century, when Japan was forced to open its ports to Western countries, a civil war broke out between conservatives and reformists in Japan, and after a reformist government was established, a government order was issued to change old customs and strictly separate Japanese Buddhist temples and shrines. (In Nara, Kofuku-ji Temple and Kasuga Taisha Shrine had been "fused" religiously since the Middle Ages.) However, those who took the government order too seriously placed more importance on shrines and tried to destroy temple buildings and important Buddha statues, but the Buddha statues were protected by kind people and are now carefully kept in museums. 🙏 However, since the temple buildings were destroyed, most of the site was developed into "Nara Park."🌿🦌😌🍀
it called that these architechures and products are made forcely from emperror to people reructantly at the time. but, if it is we already knew that there are no way it can kept until now. it because at the time of people genueine respect to Emperror, were eager to participate in budda project, want to preserve it forever that it has keep until this day. mostly people beleives new products is cool but finally, we are the same which has become awere that at the time of people has the respected for the older.
Hey, you mentioned that the lanterns are lighted in February and August. When did you visit there exactly? I love dried persimmons and will get some of those.
@@heythaveさん I'm a Nara resident.☺️ Dried persimmons are mainly sold in winter (around December to February in Japan). They are sold at fruit stores and supermarkets, and high-end products may also be sold at famous department stores. Japanese sweets made with dried persimmons are also sold throughout the year. In Nara, there is a store called "Kaki no Senmon(柿の専門)" in the "VIERRA Nara" shopping district in front of the ticket gates of JR Nara Station, which sells dried persimmons as well as jams and Japanese sweets.🤗🍀
Thank you for the info! I will be in the Kawazu area for the cherry blossom next month and I will see if I can stop by Nara also. I do see Vierra at the station on google maps. Last year I went to Japan for the first time and I was in Kochi for the Sunday Market. They had such delicious sweet potato fries! Any restaurant recommendations in the area?
@@heythaveさん Hi❣️Thank you for your reply. ☺️ Depending on your preferences, there are many types of restaurants, including Japanese, Western, Chinese, Indian, and vegetarian. Restaurants are dotted around “JR Nara Station”, “Sanjo-dori(三条通)”which extends east from there, around “Kintetsu Nara Station”, “Higashimuki Shopping Street(東向商店街)”which was also introduced in the video, “Mochidono Shopping Street(餅飯殿商店街)” which runs south from “Nakatani-do(中谷堂)”, a mochi-pounding shop, and further south into the area called “Nara-machi(ならまち)”. For more details, please check Google Maps, and I think it will be displayed. 🍽️👍🤗🍀
Pocket 3! Definitely worth the upgrade from the 2, which I also have. Love them all tho. A lot of places in Japan don't allow tripods, so the Pocket is so easy.
We are going to stay 1 day in Osaka on arrival then move to 2 days in Nara before heading to Kyoto Any recommendations for vegetarian/ vegan food options in Nara? Another incredible vlog 👍🏼I feel that I’m going to love it in Japan 🇯🇵 Thanks Aby Sabrina
Would you recommend getting there earlier in the morning like 0800-0900, or is it more like other cities where the buildings only start waking up around 1000?
Hi! You'd definitely want to just check the times for everything you want to see, as each place opens at different times. Generally, I'd say arriving at 8 or 9 is perfectly fine though.
I just arrive in shinjuku tokyo, in one of your video u say show where is the best place to exchange my foreign currency, but I forgot. Can please tell me again where is the place again so I can put into google map
You can usually find a currency exchange place at any major train station. The place I recommended was specifically by Kyoto Station, so it wouldn't be of much help to you.
Usually SBJ bank kiosk (there’s one at Haneda terminal 2) have decent rates or you can try Remitly which may take a week if you have it drawn from your bank account and you go to pick it up at one of their centers.
I can't wait to taste all this delicious Japanese food. Also the fresh venison at Nara Deer Park😂 Anyway, I'd love to give the deer some good scratches.
I lived in Japan for 3 years and Germany for 2. I'm guessing your a German girl teaching English and /or German and living in Japan for the first or second year. 😊

Your videos are so informative, entertaining and helpful for tourists. You deserve more views ❤
Love your videos thank you so much.
Nara is probably my favorite place. I hope you will do a video about Ine or Hachiman in the future :)
uk here , going to watch the whole video

I'm glad you liked those, I might bring them back in future videos!
Cute Nara! Thanks! Fyi.
Thanks for the vid abby.. added kasuga taisha on my itinerary, it feels like an old school Team labs borderless..hehe 😅
Hahah I love it! Kasuga Taisha is much smaller but definitely the OG light-up experience....
So the room with the lit lanterns only happens in Feb and august?
The room with the lit lanterns is year round. The lanterns outside the room are only lit three days a year, for two different holidays during those two months.
for bike rental, do you have to lock them up? Do they rent by hours or per day? Thank you so much. I love your video.

Going this December. Thanks for this video. Helps so much in the planning

Vegan Cafe Ramuna and Naramachi Vegan Nabi! Nara has a lot of vegan/veggie options, surprisingly. :)

Haha we're gonna have to agree to disagree on that one, I love the rice grown in the area I live 😋
