I think this has to be one of my favorite vlogs of yours. There were so many beautiful moments. It pleases me to see you so happy. Sending much love to you Paul and Sofia.
I hope you guys went to the large temple that Nara is also famous for…I’ve heard stories about your experience with the izakaya…some have speculated it is because of the language barrier and they don’t want to have to deal with it…but it is an isolated occurrence, majority of the people in japan are absolutely amazing…enjoy the rest of your travels! I’m counting down the days until my trip in may 😊
We headed there at the end of the day and saw the outside but didn’t pay to enter, we’ll have to do it on our next visit. The people in Japan are the kindest people I’ve ever come across. Enjoy your trip in May, seems like the perfect time to go.
@jurrassitol15 Hope you have a great time in Japan! If you can visit "Kasuga Taisha" in Nara in May, 200 wisteria flowers will welcome your visit. It'll be the magnificent dreamy scenery! Deer in Nara even bow or courtesy to get their fav biscuits for deer:) Deer around there have been admired by people for more over 1,300 years as messengers of god named "Take mikazuchi" (god of swords & thunders. "Take" means Strong and divine, and "Ikazuchi" means thunders. "Mi" is a prefix which means beautiful, brilliant and divine. ). It is not just a sightseeing spot. As we all know even a road is in the sacred precincts of "Kasuga Taisha", we never harm them. As for us, they are not just deer, but the god's deer. Deer also know that people will never harm them. The only concern is roadkill, though. (But sadly, starved deer ate plastic refuge or vinyl bags to death. And last year, an evil person abused and rolled young deer's mouths up tightly with tapes not to open mouths...) To prevent them eating up buds and tree barks, people sell Biscuits for deer named Shika Sembei. These are only food they can eat. In particular, while winter when few tourists visit there, they have no food without Shika Sembei. Thus, some unlucky or weak young deer may have nothing to eat for a while... Since so many rivals for biscuits at the park, streets and "Kasuga Taisha" shrine, they not only bow, but also attack'n hit us to get any tiny pieces of Deer Biscuits. They have to do anything to survive the harsh survival. Wishing you a safe trip with full of cherished memories in Nara!
What a beautiful park! Such amazing work on creating this video. It was so soothing and felt like a meditation. My daughter is obsessed with the deer 😄❤️
