As someone who lived in Japan for nearly 9 years, it's so cool to see you guys have such a great first experience. Easily one of the best countries to visit!
Thank you for taking us along and allow us to discover Japan and Tokyo! It looks busy and serene at the same time! Paul must be sooooo inspired by all the buzz. Looking forward to his vlogs as well. Happy to see the two of you so happy!

It was the cutest bakery and it was delicious as well. I hope you can find some just as delicious in Germany🤍 Thank you for all your love and kindness Anette!
We just got back from Japan and we were the same as you on multiple occasions, overwhelmed. Both in great ways (the beauty) and sometimes stressful ways (we got so lost in Tokyo station 😅😂) we also noticed how well dressed and courteous the Japanese were. We absolutely loved our trip there. So much so we just booked another one !
The stations are definitely confusing 😂 but we’re starting to get used to them. Oh my goodness, how exciting that you’re planning your next one. We were talking about how we can’t wait to come back and we haven’t even left yet😂😂😂
Thanks for taking us along on your adventure! It looks amazing out there. Snag that Dodger v Yankees 63 World Series glass for me! Haha. Much love from LA 🤍
What a wonderful place, Sam. I’m so pleased you’re having fun. I expect Paul is excited too at having the opportunity to capture so many interesting things on his camera. Also, heated toilets seats….I might have to ask for one for Christmas. I can only imagine the bliss. Lovely vlog. Thank you! ❤
Loved this video. You two were like little kids, so excited! I loved seeing your excited faces. Tokyo looks super busy but beautiful, the park was so beautiful. Hearing Paul use the bidet made me laugh out loud. Looking forward to your next vlog. Thanks for taking us along. Don't forget to send me a post card😂. Bendiciones. Love you
Haha, we are like little kids. I’m loving every minute of it. I couldn’t stop laughing at him using it, I love it! I actually got you your postcard today!
Just fell upon your vlog ! I am happy you are visiting Japan. I visited Japan in 2006. It is a lovely and complex country. Looking forward to watching more your vlogs and your thoughts on Japan. Hang in there.. being in Japan can be overwhelming when you are in the city but when you are away from the chaos and noise there are places that transcend the noise into natural beauty and spiritual temples and spaces.
You are spot on! I was definitely overwhelmed my first night but after being here now for almost 2 weeks I have visited other parts in Tokyo and outside of Tokyo and have been in complete peace and alone with my thoughts with beautiful surroundings. I’ve truly been enjoying myself and can’t wait to return.
Oh the trees!🌳 ❤ your matcha 🍵 latte ❤️your donut 🍩 ❤ the people 🎎 🙏🏽 being polite goes a long way I’m so happy for you two! I’m having fun watching everything unfold. 🇯🇵 ❤
loved the video :) I will visit Tokyo soon so I am so happy to see more videos :) and thanks for sharing the vegan options too... writing them all down
You’re going to love it and there are so many delicious vegan spots. I’ve been eating so much good food here. I’m thinking of doing a vegan guide video if I have enough footage😊
Rush hour for trains in the morning is usually 7:15 to 9 am. In the evening 5:00 pm to 7:00. Regardless of the Yamanote line loop, subway or private lines
@@SamFournier also as an odd question, have you purchased an IC card (Suica or Pasmo) to get around on the trains, subway and buses? A number of people that have visited in the last month or so in their videos have continually bought paper tickets. The cards just allow you tap and go, and a someone who as a student had to do that nearly 30 years ago, just watches in amazement at buying tickets.
If you are going to go to Kyoto, side streets are interesting walks because you’ll just see some temple/shrine. Also do get the rail pass, which you can buy even after arriving. The pass basically covers JR bullet train round trip to Kyoto and back, just that you can’t take the fastest train, which is more frequent. Green car is considered business class so it costs more.
@@jeremybrahm3326 yes, we got the Suica cards right when we landed 🛬 and we’ll definitely be getting the JR pass before we head to Kyoto. Thanks for sharing all your tips, I really appreciate it!
@@SamFournier no problem on the help. I'm planning on next year, but trying to help people get around easier. Being Vegan/Vegetarian in Japan is not easy. Dashi (fish stock) is in tons of things. There is a chain called nature doughnuts (floresta) which does vegan donuts. Mister donut also has special donuts called Fuka Fuka, which are gluten free and dairy free. but have to buy a 2 pack.
What donut and drink did your husband have at the bakery? I'm taking my 16-year-old to Japan next fall and we are both vegetarians. Enjoy the rest of your stay in Japan!
Just arrived in Kyoto yesterday and am loving it, will be here for a couple days and will be sure to create some videos while I’m here. Thank you for your support!
Bonjour Kon ’ nichiwa Japan is just breathless Sam and Paul quaint tea shops matcha yum love loved the temple shrine walking beneath those trees nature washing over you both the history I so love and yes the people so respectful kind 😍👌Paul with the bidet so funny I’ve always wanted one Thankyou for sharing my loves the glow and smiles show how much fun you’re having new shoes overbag let’s catchup on sleep ready for tomorrow Have a fabulous evening morning my loves Sayonara💖💖😘😘👌👌🌟🌟
Yaaay, welcome to Japan! Looks like you have some sunny days ahead! There's a lot of travel content with insider tips coming up on our channel; maybe you can also get some inspiration from there! Have fun traveling!!
Tokyo can be a place for sensory overload just because of everything, but places like Meiji Shrine and smaller parks near rivers give a good change of pace. Even having lived in Tokyo people always seem like they are in a hurry even though, another train will be there in 3-5 minutes. Trains are always on time, so if you are traveling by bullet train, get to your train early, but take advantage of maybe being early to window show for things.
Can’t believe it is here and now! JAPAN’ here we are finally 🎉
Iam so happy for you 2 Lovelies , Paul ☺. I know how much you wanted to go there ...💃💞
Neither can I, it’s been an amazing week so far!
Welcome!!

What hotel did you stay at in shinjuku? I’m thinking of going in February
We actually stayed in Otsuka at a hotel called Mystays, bed was uncomfortable and it was a tiny room but we only paid 40 euros a night!
