- Today was a nice day in the backyard, so what better way to spend the day than playing with antennas. In today's video, I give a real-world demonstration of how to fine-tune the Reel POTA-ble EFHW Antenna. If you just received your new Antenna, this is a good watch for you. I also included the nanovna pictures along with some FT8 operation. One of the last nanovna pictures is showing the upper end of 10 meters tuned in with about 12 turns Reeled in.
We have some more antennas in stock as of today. You can get yours today at www.reelefhw.com

You look like my buddy, Dave. In fact, I had to click on the video and watch a couple of times to make sure you weren't two people. I hope your EFHW is doing well. It's a good kit. I have an idea for your kit. If you would like to hear, let's chat sometime.
Sure, I'm good on QRZ. N5BSB
gotta love them chineezium tuners
It would be really interesting to know how the connection of the 49:1 unun to the wire on the reel is realize.
A electric contact bearing might be a potential failure point.
Maybe you could lift this mystery for us!
I totally understand, and this is what makes our antennas different. At this time, we don't have any plans to share this IP.
Just curious. Does the wire left wound up in the reel cause any negative affects? It is essentially a resistor.
It’s a really nice idea! Good job!
Please start at the beginning with us… What happens at the distant and when you start cranking. Surely this is not elastic. Do you have a weight with a pulley or something that you didn’t mention?
No, this is in a sloper configuration with slack in the wire. As long as you don't pull the wire too tight, you have room to adjust.

How about reeling it in to a sweet spot on abt 9.6 mhz that should give you a low vswr on 18mhz. My link end fed is made that way so I can get 17/12m not os worried about being good on 30m.
What tuner are you using and do you have a model number of that SWR/power/etc. meter for the FT-8X7?
How long does the wire max out at ? 130ft ? Thx
