  • I show you how to make an End Feed Half Wave (EFHW) on bands 10 - 40. I will go over cutting and tuning the antenna for each wave. Then we will put the antenna to the test.

Excellent idea using the tent stake to secure the wire and tape measure, I will use that the next time I cut wire!!

Excellent! that long tape measure was amazing. i will be using it later for the DX commander build

You can fold over the extra wire and as long as they are parallel your tune is good. Great video to include the links instead of robbing power with a "tuner" that tunes nothing but instead matches the impedance to send reflect into components in the the device as lack of efficiency. Great work indeed!

Thank you so much. Its also at of pure laziness, not running a 40 meter antenna to just play on 20

Hi Tank. I think this might be the first one of your videos I've come across. I'm planning on putting together a linked EFHW for a portable kit to use during the upcoming Summer here in VK3, and you've helped with some great ideas on building it. Thank you, Sir.

    Hi Frank -
    Maybe you can help me...
    - Which connectors did you use between each of the element?
    - Did you do anything to prevent the segments from separating once they were under the load/strain of being up on the pole and sloping to the transformer?
    Thank you & 73

Bwhahaha, that's called common mode currentv when RF finds a path to ground. Some Dude named Lenz or maybe Kirchoff worked out some of that math. Lol but as long as the radio is fine and you make contacts good on you brother. Good on you for making this video instead of shilling for a sponsors ready made antenna. 😊

This way i only have to run the correct sections to target a specific band. This way the antenna is a 1:1 with no tuner needed.
