Hey brother how are you I just started going back on your videos nice work by the way... got a quick question for you... is it OK to buss both lead vocals, doubles and stabs all together ... because I hear you have to process the doubles differently from the leads ??? Please help thanks ❤
Ahh, Thanks Sean! Applied this step by step and finally i'm on the route to the vocal chain I need! Turns out I've been applying too much processing and pushing things too hard. I loved how much more subtle your moves were but had MUCH bigger impact on making the vocal sound full. Niceone!
One of, if not the best music tutorial channel on YT. I've learned a lot from Sean over the years, but half the time I just throw his videos up because the man speaks well and is relaxing to listen to on top of being very informational. Kudos as well for having a great balance of articulating and showing what you're doing without it getting boring like a lot of channels suffer from, while at the same time not being over the top flamboyant and fake like a LOT of YT channels as well. Great work Sean. I've watched just about all your videos several times and will continue to do so.
@@SeanDivine hey wassup I just subscribed to your channel very informative I just got bought a apple labtop with pro tools on it but I have no idea how to get it up and running if it's a way we can communicate directly to see if you can help me I would be extremely grateful. I've been reaching out to different on RUclips but I haven't gotten a response yet
Hi,thanks for the tutorial, knowledge is to be shared, and that being said i would like to add some tips as well. 1.record in standing position-you have more air in your loungs 2.record with no compressor-if you dialed wrong settings the take is ruined and cant be fixed, better add it after so you can change the settings anytime if you dont like something. 3.record in -6 db and mix in -6 db becouse plugins work better so,and becouse -6 db vocal + -6 db beat = arround -3 master , and in the end bring up the volume with limiter to -1 db from clipping. 4.when mixing always first gate than lowcut than deesser and then compressor , try and see, lows and esses mess up the compression, after the compressor you can boost the highs
This is a unique approach to getting a clean sounding track fast. Ive never seen anyone route a vocal stack to a send and process the group as one unit like this. I also liked the sidechain EQ on the 2-track... Money, I dont know why I never thought of that! Great video! As someone who records with less than adequate hardware and in a less than Ideal space I can definitely make use of these tips. Keep grinding and Stay Blessed!
Thank you for helping the community fam. Keep making it simple please so i can replicate it. Im not an engineer. I want something easy that I can understand.
A REQUEST Sean! Please can you make a tutorial how to basic make a Track and mix it to a 2 track before dubbing the vocals. would really appreciate that, like this trutorial above
Thank you for this video I’m so glad u showed me how to make my sm7b sound 10 times better I love this mic it’s top notch especially if you are recording in a untreated room salute to you
Great Video. Not sure if you've discussed this already, but it would be good to see a in depth video about working with the newer M1 Pro/Max laptops, the ups and downs specs etc.
My guy but why u pushing the lead post fader past unity ??? And why u tracking so low ??? Atleast -18, I be hitting noise floor with -25 ??? Lit anyway 🤝🏽
Man!! This is the second time have watched this video. It does not get old. Thank you, so much!! Musical naughtiness personified!! Thank you, so much, for sharing.
Man how can you just hear your vocals and know exactly what frequencies to cut like 90 percent of my mixes are spent trying to find what is making the vocal muddy box sibilant and you made it look so easy that ssl ev2 is 🔥🔥🔥🔥 you should try that blackbird n 105 modeled after the neve 31105 sonically it’s really good… btw great video and my mixes have gotten drastically better because of your content

Even though I've come a long way in my learning, this video has provided some enlightenment on what I'm not doing. I'm not adding enough compression on my vocals to get that full-on commerical sound. I'll keep referencing his video.
Love this video! I really need to get f6, very versatile. I've been using the stock pro tools compressor with the filters set so its individual bands like a multi band, just had to use 2 maybe 3 of them set to different bands (on a 2 track to make room for vocals). F6 would be way easier lol
Bro, thank you for these tutorial types of videos. I have gotten a lot better with mixing and just setting up a vocal chain with your helpful videos. Keep being successful brotha.....Bless

If your studio dont give a good acoustic isolation uses Poltergate for Denise Audio to remove noises, thats good!!!

Studio rack is underrated and its free from waves. You can use it to make sure all your sub frequencies are in mono by creating a multichain.

No rules, whatever sounds best 👍 I’d reach for a dynamic EQ or multiband comp in that case to add it back with more control!
