To make it feel more MMO/community centered It would be super cool if they added a section to the town for a player led farmers market. You get your own stall, bring crops you’ve grown on your home plot, random supplies, and furniture to sell to other players! Maybe even make a haggle option. I really hope the game devs continue working on this game, me and my fiancé have lots of fun playing together and I would be sad to see it go..
No Man's Sky was able to turn around their Steam reviews from mostly negative to very positive, but it took YEARS. But they are proof that a game can have a massive turnaround. My biggest issue with Palia is they are relying on grinding and rare drops as a way to retain players, and to me, grinding is a means to an end, not the actual engaging part of the game. The reason why hot pot is so loved is because it's the only co-op activity that is NOT related to grinding and it's just for fun with friends with basic rewards everyone gets with no pressure to win. There needs to be more player interactions not tied to resource gathering, like item trading, more mini-games like hot pot, and group expeditions where a group can have an instanced map where they can work together to gather resources (which is the core gameplay of MMOs, the raids and parties). I think Palia can turn things around, but they have a lot of work to do, and like No Man's Sky, the PR and marketing team has done a disservice to the game with false expectations.
Don't buy new games. I bought NMS 1.5 years ago and was able to create a status device farm after about a thousand hours. Even old games like Kenshi still has TONS of bugs and silly mechanics. By silly mechanics, I mean silly mechanics that makes the game silly in many ways. BUT its concept is insanely good that keeps me going back to it after playing Palworld for 500 hours. I now have 1700 hours in Kenshi. I just avoid all the dumb mechanics and ignore the bugs and play the game the way I want it to be and make it a challenging game. LOL
Honestly I'm happy with the multiplayer aspect as it is, as I would like to keep the ability to play solo as well., and to get to meet people on the fly. I honestly don't have many complaints about the game, I love it for the most part. The plushies as an incentive for grinding are a great idea, but the ridiculously low drop rate is discouraging enough to cancel it out, unfortunately.
Yeah, it sucks. I also feel so rude for not talking to anyone. Considering joining the Discord and seeing if there's a voice channel or something. Firing a flare when you see something good tends to bring people pretty quickly. The game is so good on PC though
I ended up connecting a keyboard to my switch for chat. They had helped me immensely. Still not as ideal as using a PC but at least I can take less theñan 2 minutes to respond now 😂
I always think it’s important to remember that this game is still in beta form. I think that when they update the game they are taking players input and trying to make it a better experience. I hope they make it. This is one of my favorite games!
They will never get a high rate of gamer retention. Their method of keeping us on the server and playing is strictly through grinding. This update was exellent and I'm loving it. However, they offset that by introducing an extremely low rate of drops for plushies. They know we want those plushies and it's like they're punishing us instead of rewarding us. The devs seem to think that making us miserable is the best way to keep us playing. I'll keep playing for awhile longer, but when I leave, I'll never come back.
omg THANK YOU , the plushie thing is really irritating me. if they were rewarding us, it wouldnt be as difficult so that we could collect a bunch! i want so many! ive gotten ONE so far. ridiculous, let us create palaces of plushies. it is punishing and im annoyed
@@QUEERVEEART I’ve got a few mainly from the machine and lucky to get 2 paper bugs and the fairy moth & a muujin dropped. Other than that I have one sernuk from killima, so now I’m trying to get some of the others and getting bit fed up I I’m honest. I’ve gone through over 3000 arrows trying to get an elder or proudhorn plushie & that’s on top on 574+ hrs I’ve never seen a ruby!
I played this when it first came out and I loved it, then the grind set in with no rewards. Then I realised it was not an MMO where you get to interact, join guilds etc with other players. I left after about 2 months and haven't been back since, but I would love to try again, so I will continue to watch out for updates etc and see what happens. Tfs
Yup I definitely with it was more like a traditional mmo with guilds and stuff. Especially with the flow and learning about where humans come from. There could be different guilds that feel different ways about the useage of flow and have a different story path and missions.
This update brought me back to the game after months (before the Christmas update) I truly enjoy playing right now and thinking they are going in the right direction. Flow wood is so easy to get now, although I think pallium could still use a boost. The premium shop isn’t a concern for me but I would like to see more low cost outfits to balance things out. I also don’t care too much about playing with others but that’s just me. I would rather play solo but do like seeing others around.
I think they should let pets be for free, basic ones ofc. And they should allow pets grab loot, when you hunt, catch bugs or mine. Should be amazing for players.
there is one thing that i miss...swimming. it's one of my fave things to do, and it bugged me no end i couldnt swim in palia. even if you cant swim past certain depths, and past certain ponts (marker buoys ect) it would be good to be able to swim. make that pond in our plot somewhere you could decorate a little maybe (a couple deck chairs, a parasol or a seat...they could sell swimwear, tho please give us a basic swimsuit free that we can just simple recolour lol)
Honestly none of these changes matter to me at all. We have plenty of aesthetic things, what we NEED is more content and things to do. There isn't anything to do---it feels liek a game you play, beat, and nothing else bc there is no more content
The chat bubble "WHERES KENLIS SANDWICH" I always joke on discord that there's so many problems, people have died, sadness and loneliness.... but the one that drives everyone loopy in looking is KENLIS DARN SANDWICH!!!!!
I’ve been binging streams of Palia for a couple months now. It’s the main reason I finally bought a computer! I really hope they can turn it around. It’s a gorgeous game!
I'll still be creating Palia content, but I will be diversifying on Twitch and with other games. I feel like the economy calibration was needed badly, but I'd wished it had happened sooner than later. That being said, the next thing they need to overhaul is the premium shop and separate the items. I feel like people purchase items for a single part of a set rather than the set itself. They can keep the items' prices the same, but they need to allow you to earn Palia coins through in-game activities and increate the amount of Palia coins you get with the monetary value being spent. It's very hard for many to justify spending money on cosmetics as awesome as they look when they could invest in a new game instead. Spending $2-3 here and there for parts of an outfit would be ideal while you'd save the most buying the set.
Definitely don't stop creating content for it, Commit! Love your plot tours. ;-) I also agree diversifying is a great idea too. Thanks for stopping by!!
I was one of the people that was lucky to start playing on the late Alpha stage. While I loved the game and have been following it for years even before release, the marketing team did it bad. The expectations were all over the place, which meant they attracted the wrong type of player base! They simply found the keywords that would attract all frustrated players from the genres of online and casual gaming, promised the world and under delivered. Now I am not saying the game is bad, on the contrary it is a very fun and promising game! Their problem is that they don't have direction. They have collected such a wide range of different players and they just slapped together popular mechanics without much direction or care for the soul of the game. Is it a storytelling game? A Stardew Valley clone? Animal Crossing? What is the goal of it? Normally the mechanics are means to an end goal, they need to be fun and attention grabbing, but they help you reach a goal! That is what the game is lacking. Because of all that and many more points, the game will not manage to retain players. While everyone wants to mess around and check games, the lack of any substance will eventually make everyone move on. If they focused on making the end goal a cozy mmo experience (back at the start there was a promise of building neighbourhoods together so that would justify all mechanics and feed a co-op cozy goal) they would be able to get a set player base to stay. For now their strongest base is the Stardew Valley/Animal crossing players that are waiting for the next big cozy title, but once that drops they will have nothing left. Also as an MMO veteran, it is common knowledge that once a game drops a hello kitty skin, it always means that they go into life support. I truly wish I'm wrong and they actually find their soul and have a more targeted development, but for now it doesn't look like it will live long enough to get a new land update.
Couldn't agree more with dropping the "hello kitty skin". While it's cute for tons of people, it's definitely an MMO killer. It's a shame this game didn't take more of an MMO route. Coming from playing WoW, I had high hopes for it.
Also been in since alpha. Loved the game at first, but more recently I grew extremely bored of it. There's literally nowhere new to go and nothing new to do. Only 2 small regions and a few small temples? Other games I play are big enough so that I could walk for days and never get bored of the scenery (LOTRO, for example). I realize that the game is still relatively young, but I feel like I'm not alone in wishing for more content. Also would be nice to have more than one character to play.
Only just started playing the game a few days ago, on PC, so here are my thoughts so far. firstly the nitpicks: 1. xbox controller support is a bit wonky still, and not always consistent. I'd like to see this fixed, as my wrists aren't what they used to be, so controller is my preferred input method. 2. I'd like the storage to be searchable. there's a lot of junk and scrolling all the time is annoying. 3. I agree that a pet or two should just be earnable rather than needing to dish out a the price of a new game to buy. 4. If flow trees are going to be a central high demand item(especially early on), it just needs to be a regular spawn, perhaps in it's own dedicated area/worldspace. it didn't take very long before I was given a quest to make a bunch of stuff requiring it, and I was well below level to be given such a task. It just feels like artificial scarcity for the sake of it. 5. it does start to feel like an endless fetch quest after a while. 6. kinda wish the metal nodes spawned a little more frequently. 7. people for some reason will just randomly add you after absolutely zero interaction... I suspect bots. 8 we don't get to adopt the adorable kitsuu? aww....😿 9. why can't we swim? like, seriously.....I know it's an endless beta, but come on. 10. sometimes NPC icons, just disappear off the map with no explanation. 11. I've noticed that people who bought the catgirl outfits, their tails kind of just freak out and start flailing everywhere. They've gotta get their physics under control. I've seen that thing trail or fly ahead quite a distance. Now for what it seems to do okay at. 1. it's a fine 3d stardew clone. it very much feels like stardew, just less tedious, and mostly gets the things it got right, right, such as the fishing and farming. 2. it's not nearly as grindy as every other MMO i've ever played. 3. rewards seem mostly fair so far. 4. it's kind of enjoyable, which is kinda rare for an MMO that is free to play. I could probably come up with a bit more, but, I don't have that much in the way of complaints yet.. it's mostly things like not being able to rebind controls, some minor polish and QoL issues I would personally like the game in an offline form. I'm just one of those weirdos that logs into an MMO, and immediately disables chat and proceeds to play everything solo that the game lets me. 🤷
Thanks for all your input! The flow trees have a grove that spawn at midnight every Palia night that everybody can go meet up at and chop. You can party up with others that have upgraded axes so you can get the loot for that as well. :)
Hi there, 3D animation student here. The Palfox is definitely its own 3D model, not a reskinning of the Palcat. It is however, similarily designed. I feel they went the safe direction and designed something they knew would sell instead of innovating a pet design and making something completely different
Whether it's a new 3D model or not, it's still too similar. Considering all the backlash the original Palcats received, they should have been smarter and introduced something completely different to make it more new and shiny and introduced a way to earn free ones.
Great video. Thanks. I dropped out months ago. There was so much rancor over the palium drops. I couldn't seem to accomplish much. They opened the new cave adventure and I had so many problems following the quest. The super expensive clothing kept grating on me. I wasn't able to cook the more complex recipes. I remember trying multiple times and asking myself, "Why am I doing this?" I'm just describing the variety of negatives that came together. And the devs seem controlling. Increasing the cost to craft and lowering the rewards. It seemed like they didn't want us to get too much. Like, "hey, don't have too much fun." It does sound like the game may have improved. It amazes me that the devs were surprised by the problems with lowering the fun quotient.
I don't think the game's going anywhere, I love it. I've not noticed any of this hardly. I have seen some complaints, including what's in this video. But for me at least it's easy to look past.
I say this because the game is developed by Ex RIOT and Blizzard Devs. So it gives me pretty high hopes. RIOT makes LoL, and Blizzard makes Warcraft. Both companies have huge success, I think Singularity 6 will end up having the same.
Palia (in theory) is such a great game. It's original, the character relationships and progressions are engaging, it has a cozy vibe while still being an MMO, could go on. It's genuinely such a unique and wholesome game. However I feel that it's riddled with elements and issues that don't make any sense. While the game can't be criticised too heavily as it is in beta, they're not going to retain players the way the would've planned. Hopefully the final product has a good marketing strategy so that the game can be loved and appreciated when it's been fine-tuned a little more.
My main issue was palium and purple wood was incredibly hard to get but required for pretty much everything... It's a great game, I might check out the update
I've been able to get tons of palium now that they changed the spawn rate and where they spawn. And now with the flow tree grove, you'll always have tons of flow wood. Definitely recommend checking it out again. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
I just started 3 days ago and I have no trouble getting palium and flow-infused tree wood. I have still my iron tools and I am a noob, but many people shouting out pal deposits and floating trees. I downloaded the game and expected nothing, but I like it. Only gripe are that the outfits are very expensive, thought about starting with 5-10 bucks, but there is nothing good there in this range I think.
The game has prety much fixed thsoe 2 issues. I have so much flow wood, literally 500+, palium anyone can mine the same node now so no more people fighting over them and its much easier to find out in the wold now.
I may check out the new update, but reality is that most of the things that cause my love/hate relationship with Palia still exist. It still doesn't feel or play like an MMO to me. Relying on various Discords to find a group to party up with is not good for a game that advertises itself as an MMO. The tools to find and make parties should be in-game, easy to use and intuitive - a Group Finder. No offense to all the content creators out there trying to help the communities and players - if anything you all are SAVING this game from a death that would have happened long ago. My other pet peeve is the cash store. I love spending money to help support a game I enjoy playing!! But the selection of clothing options just don't fit the world of Palia. As an example: The Fairy outfit is sexy cute but doesn't fit the aesthetics of the game at all. The few that do have components that I like, are not things you can separate out. Give me some separates! Nice boots like Kenyatta's, some dresses similar to Tish's (minus the apron with her tools), maybe some jackets/coats similar to Jina's - All sold as separates so that I can create something "Palian" that suites my character. I would spend a small fortune if they did that! 😀
Couldn't of said it any better myself! It is 100% not an MMO and needs to implement more MMO style features to rank even close to being one. I truly hope they bring more of those aspects to the game.
@@LiaBluBootsiii I have submitted suggestions - problems and possible solutions. You are right in that they do listen, we've seen some of those changes people have requested gradually get implemented (like sitting, chat functions and so on). However, since feedback is in such a vacuum, it's hard to know what they are actually listening to or have the programming dollars to actually implement. It's a wait and see situation. I really wish they would have a suggestion forum in the Discord, but I kind of get why they don't.
I played the game at launch but didn’t play a ton beyond that until recently. Recently I’ve really gotten into it and find myself telling myself “just one more thing and I’ll take a break”, but then an hour later I’m still playing. The game is still buggy some, but I still think it’s a lot of fun. I’ll have to brainstorm some suggestions for the discord feedback channel. One thing I think would be nice is a mount of sort if you’re only wanting to travel to another zone without doing any material farming. They should definitely bring all building timers for houses and such down to 30seconds
Honestly don't get people's obsession with plushies. I mean, they're nice and so but - plushies? Seriously? The thing that had me pause playing was the lack of new questlines. Or in general new stuff to do. Plushies? *shakes head*
A lot of us are neurodivergent and plushies are quite comfy for sensory input IRL, so having this reflected in-game is a great feature for us. It would be better not to be judgemental next time and simply end your statemnt with your question.
i love the plushies and I WANT THEM ALL but i want SO MANY and it’s ridiculous how difficult theyve made it. they are kinda being bttheads! D< yet i will still play cause its my hyperfocus again but i just wish the drop rate was better ):
Same I don't have any at all from hunting. Granted I don't hunt all day every day or I would hate the game. But seeing some people get multiples of each is painful. Also I have zero ruby and that is locking up 3 quests. I can't request it since I never found one myself after about 10 ore compasses and countless hours of mining since they added the gems.
I gave up completely trying for the plushies. Have no interest in stuffed animals in any case. My biggest complaints are that the main quests are a tiny bit too difficult to complete and if the devs are going to leave one stand alone random flow tree then make it so one person can chop it down.
@@Janet-nn7tc I like the plushies, they are cute and fun to place in the house but yea, not gonna grind for them. The main would be difficult yes for players that started when they were all in the game. For me, it was ok since I have been playing since closed beta and had almost all the items for each bundle as it was added. Lucky me hehe. Too bad the luck has left me now. I can see how they are crazy tough now. I haven't gotten an unicorn fish or a giant stingray in so long and only had a total of 2. The idea is, I think, to keep players from going too fast which is valid for a live service game but the balance is off. The RNG chances are just not good. I am not hunting shiny pokemon lol.
I JUST started playing Palia a few weeks ago, and I love it, so I hope it survives. There are some things that bug me about it, though. 1. I don't like that I'm limited to 8 storage chests, nor the fact that fished up chests are unusable for storage. One thing I've found about many of these games from World of Warcraft to Stardew Valley to Minecraft is that stuff builds up FAST. You can place as many chests as you want in a little game like SDV (though it may affect your framerate). Same in Minecraft. Problem solved. WoWhas that issue, though. They added void storage and, more recently, warband bank tabs for more space while making transmogs possible so that your favorite outfits don't clutter up your bank space. I quickly hit the cap for storage in Palia, and I'm constantly rearranging and selling stuff I was saving for gifts or recipes. It's very frustrating. 2. Same thing with garden plots. If I want a farm field, let me make a farm field. There's a limit of 9 plots. 3. I haven't quite reached the flow wood part yet, but it's starting to look like something you HAVE to do with friends. None of my friends play Palia. Most of them don't play video games at all. I'm a solo player. It's my little retreat, and I don't like games forcing me to group up. GTA Online used to do this a lot. They've changed it so that you can do more in a private session, now, with different kinds of sessions depending on your situation. But you can't do everything, and some missions would be eay easier with a friend. There's a lot of things you can do by yourself in WoW these days (maybe too much), but most of the end game stuff requires groups. I don't have a problem with groups; I just don't group up a lot. (And I don't have anyone to group with). 4. I wish there were mounts, but your character runs pretty fast, and there's some fast travel options, so it's okay if there isn't. BUT, if Sing6 puts them in... I wanna ride an ormuu! 😀 5. I wish they hadn't laid off those people. That sucks! 😕 I hope this game doesn't die. I just started and I like it a lot. I'm excited for Elderwood!
I haven’t checked out the update myself yet, but have seen Steph and K playing it and it looks amazing! The thing holding me back is I don’t want to get addicted to a game and spend my money on cute cosmetics when it could be gone in a year I guess. I just feel like I’ll be disappointed and my time building up my plot and stuff would have been wasted. But still kinda wanna check out the update for sure. ❤
Why didn’t they give us more farming plots? Also the fishing is what’s killled the game for me. I’d tried for hours and hours to get fish for the bundles but they’re impossible….
Yeah fishing for the bundles was so difficult until I found this great bundle guide on yt, it made the process alot easier as I knew exactly how best to fish for each fish
I wish they would separate back items from outfits like they do for hats. If I buy the fairy outfit I should be able to wear the wings with whatever clothes I want!
Great summary of the changes and how the community feels! For me, I love this update but I can see myself falling back out of the game in a month or two if more is not added. The building blocks I could play around with for HOURS, so that is a major thing they added to the game! I've never felt like multiplayer is lacking, but that is probably because I always play with a community / streamer. I can see how just playing solo all of the time there may not be much benefit to coming back. As for the comments on the premium shop, it doesn't bother me at all. The game is free to play and I have purchased quite a few things because I want to support the development of the game. I really hope they keep listening to us and it takes off like it could!!
100% hope they do keep listening and making everything better. It's time to really make Palia great again!! Thanks for watching, Brooke! And congrats and starting up the new channel! Proud of ya!
yes you are right with the 30 sec thing. to be honest when i build my house and it said 8 hours i logged off and never logged in again. mayb i take a look again. but i am not sure to be honest
I love the game and we have a great community on discord in the Netherlands were many players play together . I hope they will make it cause i realy enjoy the game like i do dreamlight valley.
Being a multiplayer game, it should have more of a community within the game rather than discord. Discord is still a great place to meet new Palians but it needs more in-game options to meet and build up a community.
I just started playing and went looking for patch info and impressions on YT out of curiosity. I can't believe all this stuff wasn't done a lot earlier. I take it for granted as a new player appreciating how loot is shared and whatnot. IF it wasn't, I know for sure my boyfriend and I would have immediately dropped it. That's how big a difference doing stuff together is. And yet, agreed, I think being able to tackle quests together and whatever other party content would be great. We were just talking about this last night after a few hours of cycling btw doing gathering together and parting ways for quests and exploration. The cash shop, for the most part, doesn't bother me. I think it's way too much money for skins but at least you get three different (mediocre) color schemes to go with each outfit. I don't need the stuff in there. However, it's a real shame that a whole Skill area based around Tailoring isn't a thing at all. There is so much room for potential in letting players design clothes in-game somehow and trade them and even do in-game fashion shows in a game like this. There's even Jel who I only just met 2 days ago and it's obvious he's the perfect NPC for this. Ugh. In other words.... I'm brand new and I already see cool stuff this game doesn't have, but I hope that's a "yet" and great new stuff will be added going forward.
For players that want to do feedback it’s on the Palia website. Once you login you can find it and follow the instructions. Hope you submit your ideas they sound great.
Hello! I'm very late to the game, really sad to hear of the layoffs, I truly hope they are taking care of their humans, I'm really liking the game and want to keep it that way haha. I find some value in the buildtimes, but certainly not 8 hours! I had no idea about that, that's insane! Everything being 30 seconds sounds pretty solid to me, but maybe for some of the really large show pieces, up to a half-hour build time might provide build-up of anticipation and the feeling of reward when it's finally done and that can be very intoxicating, but definitely no long build times!
Just started playing this today, was trying to find something that my daughter (7 years old) and I to play. Have only put maybe an hour into it, buy I was disappointed that we can't share an area, like stardew Valley multi-player. Then again, maybe you can... Im still learning. I was shocked to see how long it takes just to build the first house, ok not build, but to create the mats... 100 planks, 1 minute a piece... I know that's not bad, but my daughter doesn't have the patience as some younger kids, lol. I'll probably end up just buying another copy of Stardew Valley and playing that together
I absolutely love Palia, but in the last couple of months I feel like there is nothing to do anymore because the thing that keeps me playing the game is the characters and the stories you learn along the way now that I've completed all of the quest and the main story I feel like I don't enjoy the game as much but this update may change that because another thing I love to do in Palia is build, I do agree with you that they should have had this update sooner and it would have had a stronger impact
i need another zone so bad with a new town hub to chill at and some new npcs... who knows how long that will take when they have all these layoffs :/ i want this game to succeed, just looking rough right now
Even though the value of thw starstones have reduced a little ive found theyve dropped a ton more. Esp starstones i got like 4 the other day and like 5 normal stones. Build times for housing stuff has decreased majorly also. I love the game so much and am so glad for most of the changes
THANK YOU JADE! (Yes, the caps are necessary to express my gratitude). This video has given me a reason to actually log on to the game and start enjoying playing it again. #Jade4PaliaPartner
Having a building built quickly will not cause burn out. Grinding out resources for hours and hours with no end reward is what will cause the burn out. There's absolutely no reason for 1 hour wait times for a building.
Not enough in the way to increase the income. Yes I watched your other video showing how to make money, but I don’t want to spend eight hours grinding to get money so I can either buy or make furniture to utilize the cozy game principles. I don’t see a lot of people coming back to this game.
I loved Palia when it first came out but I personally found some of the quests hard to complete as someone who can only play for a limited time when a fish or something is only available to collect at a certain time it means I have to wait a lot longer to try and get it and then also I found the community incredibly selfish and not helpful. I would love to get back into the game and try again but I’m not confident
I 100% had the same complaint about the new foxes. They absolutely are just palcats reskinned. Im usually a huge pet collector in other games but im certainly passing on these.
Ive not played in ages but eh mabey ill give it a shot. I played in alpha and on day 1 of the extra early access deal but got bored real fast partially due to constantly being broke and a lack of things that I found interesting to do. seems like they may have fixed one of those things so yeah. Thanks for the video id heard about this update but didn't know what it involved so glad to hear it explaned.
Grinding for materials and then waiting for something to be build or make? I do not like that at all . I played a few games like that and I enjoyed them, but after a while this game mechanic became so annoying that I stopped playing those games .
Hot Pot was the only thing I needed from this update to get sucked back into playing lol 💜 all the new stuff is definitely keeping me busy between night markets though! 😂
i wish there's a single player mode bc i hunt all by myself most of the day. plus the buffering is annoying (i get it's probably bc of my wifi connection, but it won't have to buffer if i play offline) 😭😭
I've seen the words, MAJOR and HUGE but have yet to see any changes that match. We got a few tweaks a house model and some basic building things.. games heading to the grave for sure.
Most of the major changes are with the economy changes that have restructured a lot in the game. I can definitely tell the difference. But I completely understand your view as well. Thanks for watching!
I've been playing this with my Boyfriend and enjoying but I agree the Co-Op and Multiplayer interaction a Non-Existent. Should we continue to play it or are there better alternatives out there that are like this game and have more Co-Op features? Love your videos by the way. They've been super helpful and informative!
Thank you!! I still think it's a great game to play together. Hunting, cooking, bug collecting, etc.. are all great as a party so still recommend playing it with your boyfriend. Happy Gaming!
This video is a good starting point for me to maybe get back to the game, but you said there will be a new area? Maybe I will wait till then instead. This game was insane for making you wait 8 hours to build your house. I can't remember 100% but back in beta there was a quest where you had to build the house and then you were stuck waiting till it was done? Massive improvement with those 30 sec. Nonetheless, the points you made are there, and it's not bad. It's just the grinding mindset is too strong and it repels more people than it should.
There's no confirmation on when the new area will come just yet. It's mentioned in the wiki page as not implemented yet in Palia so we are still waiting for confirmation on that. I recommend giving it a try already. It's free so there's really nothing to lose. ;-)
this game asks for WAY too much grind and its all RNG... It gets boring sooooo fast. I lost interest. Everything they "added" just added more grind and more resources that I dont have the room to store. Its not better, its actually worse
this game looks cute as fuck, def going to give it a go! cant believe i didnt hear about it before, maybe they need to put a bit into their marketting haha
I had to stop several months ago and move on to something else.. In my opinion, They kept making things like Palium and some other items so hard to farm it was stupid to even think to play the game any more. They nerf everything that made it satisfying to play so there is no longer any point.. But I have to say for a while and in the beginning it was great fun so its not all bad. Hope there are still people out there having fun with it though.
Always love your content Jade 🙌 I played loads when I had covid and was stuck in but now I only dip in and out occasionally. It’s a shame, a great game with lots of potential but I’m not putting any money into buying a animal unless the game looks to have a positive future.
I dropped the game in the beginning due to the issues, but I hope they update how useful multi-player is, and make things a lot easier to collect from the beginning. The beginning is ROUGH and I shouldnt need 100 YT guides.
I do wish we had the elderwoods or some more main storyline quests. I'm tempted to start romancing more people JUST to have more quests & gameplay, but I really don't want to do that. Like why romance people I'm not actually interested in? Maybe I'll just watch RUclips vids of the other character's romance storylines
The game is far to glitched and they don't fix them, yet they have the staff and time to put out products they want us to purchase in the premium shop. Nope, not giving them another dime of my money unless they fix all the glitches including those that prevent players from collecting the rewards which we have earned from hunting and quests.
They *need* to make the game multiplayer. Given that it is supposed to be a "cozy mmo" - The fact that my wife and I can't build upon a plot, together just defeats the purpose, imo.
You can build together. You just have to set the permission for her to be an editor. She just can't use her own furniture on your plot. You can place down all your items you want her to user and she can move them all around and design it the way she wants.
I absolutely love playing this game but wish I had someone to play with, occasionally I’ll tag along with someone but think they must think I’m strange following them 😌
You can always ask in chat if someone wants to go fishing, mining etc. sometimes you get a couple players and other times you may not but that’s how I met players and made friends in game. Discord also helps
The spring update completely broke some of the quests making the game somewhat unplayable for me. Also the flower on the ground around the world were so lazily put? Like they were literally inside other objects or just throw across a walking path. It felt like they didn't playtest or look at their work. After a week or two of the quests still being bugged I just lost all motivation to play.
Update looks great. I can finally make my Spencer Mansion. 😭 But sadly my pc is broken and I'm too broke to fix it and I don't have a switch. Smh. 🤦♂️
I absolutely LOVE this game. It's majorly better than that horrible Dreamlight Valley that I'm trying to quit with my FOMO addiction. lol Now if they want to talk about Palia being a mobile game. ... I don't see it AT ALL (other than the time limit on the houses, but you can't PAY to speed it up like in a mobile game.) DDV is literally an old mobile game (Sims mobile) that they put Disney objects in and released for PC and console. I used to play that SAME game years ago. My bet is on Palia surviving, at least I hope so. I care nothing about the MMO aspect. I know that's a big thing for kids these days though, and if they are going to market it as such they should work on that aspect for those that need that. I honestly think they need to add a battle pass system to the game... and I've never said that before! I hope it survives.
DDV being an old sims mobile reskin isn’t true btw lol. I went and verified every sims mobile game and none of them are at all similar… unless you have a name of the exact game?
I wish they fix the steam achievements too, 2 of the temples are not being granted even though I finished them a while before. I have seen people saying their entire builds with the new blocks have been destroyed upon relogin (or coming back to plot) and they found them all at the entrance after hours of building with them so I am waiting for a fix for that. I do love the game and it's so pretty so I really hope they fix the stability issues and these long standing bugs before 1.0. I also want the super rare stuff drop rates increased. There is literally no point to them being so low. If players do not get them, they will quit. I never hunt for shiny pokemon...this is similar and it's annoying.
My chests keep moving and spawning at the front of my plot which has been so annoying! I can totally understand the frustration from hours of building only to have things move around. Thanks for watching!!
Is the game pretty social or is it multiplayer in the sense you see other players but have no reason to interact? Edit-just got to your section regarding multiplayer haha
@@JadeMistGaming fingers crossed. Working full time makes it bloody hard to socialise in real life 😂 I love the concept of the game so far, I really need to give it a go
Is it enough... no. Their biggest issue isn't just player retention, but also their store. Everything is over priced, and, imo, most aren't worth buying at all. The clothes in the game are one of the things I dislike most about the game, outside really bad character dialogue. The lore drives me crazy how bad it's written. Pretty much everyone, including yourself (the PC), is very unlikable.
So I did the grind and have hit between levels 20-45 in all skills. I have caught all the bugs and fish, maxed my tools and until nov, had the max plot. But that took maybe 3 month of game play, after that I ran out of things to do, the game got boring. Why catch fish when I have all the fish and money is no longer a motivating factor, why collect pallium or flow if my tools are maxed out and my plot is full so I cant continue to decorate? playing feels pointless and although the last few updates have use for entry/mid players I feel like those of us in end game content still are left with no choice but to restart with a new character
Hence "saving the game".... Wouldn't go as far as saying it's "healthy" as you can see from the tons of comments complaining and stating otherwise. But thanks for dropping by, watching and commenting! Appreciated. ;-)
@@JadeMistGaming There are problems, but i feel the community around that game keeps it alive to the extend that the majority of players still enjoy the game and get new people in. We're on a long road but i think there is light at the end of the tunnel and the recent changes were in the right direction.
The problem isn't with getting the new players, it's keeping them. Unless they make some major changes to eliminate the constant grind and lack of content aside from updates giving us new decorating stuff, premium shop items, and more things that require grinding, people will get tired of it and move on to something else bigger and better that actually gives them what they want. The economy update is definitely a step forward but they have ALOT of work to do to really get it to flourish and thrive for as long as they want it to. Trust me, I want it to survive. I personally love the game. But I do have to call it as I see it. ;-)
@@JadeMistGaming 100%. I'm also looking forward for some kind of jobs (trading with pets between cities, economy stuff, something other than gardening). But i really look forward for the studio to evolve. They are understanding what players want but as always, development takes time. So i give them the benefit of the doubt for now. Trust has to be earned so yea - lets hope for the best :-)
Actually, there is a too late when the game depends on a mass of people to play in multiplayer since it markets itself as an mmo. No players equals dead servers in turn resulting in shutting down the game. Now that it's been bought out though, it should be able to sustain itself to at least get it to full release and then just steadily maintain itself.
Palia being MMO being online only with microtransaction you feel like you don't own the stuff you paid for with real money singularity 6 need make a offline solo player option or version without the MMO server
To farmy, Would be fun if there was more animals to hunt and actual battle would be REAL fun!!! I might not be the one for this game xD It felt like a snore fest.... And it felt like a "build a house" simulation............
Simply expressing my concerns that obviously tons of others agree with. It's called constructive criticism. But thanks for watching and commenting! Have a fabulous day! ;-)
Did you actually watch the video?? Sure, the title feels that way, but once you watch it you'll see the love Jade has for the game and honest concerns/criticism.
Yup I wish I could interact with players alot more
No Man's Sky was able to turn around their Steam reviews from mostly negative to very positive, but it took YEARS.
Yes I want item trading so bad!
They aren't getting to that part by removing so many devs... Also, No Man's Sky got free updates, but the game was not free. That works.
My biggest issue as a switch user the chat box is a pain to use and I hate that I have to have someone help cut down flow trees lol
Yesssss I play alone in spurts and don't have time to sit around waiting for everyone in the world to arrive before we can finally cut the tree.
Yeah, it sucks. I also feel so rude for not talking to anyone. Considering joining the Discord and seeing if there's a voice channel or something. Firing a flare when you see something good tends to bring people pretty quickly. The game is so good on PC though
Same here its such a pain to chat om switch
I ended up connecting a keyboard to my switch for chat. They had helped me immensely. Still not as ideal as using a PC but at least I can take less theñan 2 minutes to respond now 😂
they should make some premade text for people, like "ft flared" , then maybe you could just type in d3 and itd be easier? (idk tho i play on pc)
I get TONS of plushies, but I also have some other consistent plater friends and we do hunting parties
My biggest issue is the item limit on my plot. I wanted a cluttered look but now my plot is full and i still have many empty rooms to fill..
Absolutely!!
Yep. I hate that they introduced flowers, so our home lots looked similar to the outside worlds and yet! ,The limit makes it look so barren in places.
So glad to hear it's brought you back into the game!
I think they should let pets be for free, basic ones ofc. And they should allow pets grab loot, when you hunt, catch bugs or mine. Should be amazing for players.
Yes! The grabbing loot thing would be great!
there is one thing that i miss...swimming. it's one of my fave things to do, and it bugged me no end i couldnt swim in palia. even if you cant swim past certain depths, and past certain ponts (marker buoys ect) it would be good to be able to swim. make that pond in our plot somewhere you could decorate a little maybe (a couple deck chairs, a parasol or a seat...they could sell swimwear, tho please give us a basic swimsuit free that we can just simple recolour lol)
id love this!
With the new builders set, we can build out of bounds and finally make a place to sit, decorate and stand to fish.
I'm confused, I only started playing recently but the sandwich was easy to find, did it used to be harder?
Only just started playing the game a few days ago, on PC, so here are my thoughts so far.
firstly the nitpicks:
1. xbox controller support is a bit wonky still, and not always consistent.
8 we don't get to adopt the adorable kitsuu? aww....😿
9. why can't we swim? like, seriously.....I know it's an endless beta, but come on.
10. sometimes NPC icons, just disappear off the map with no explanation.
I have so much flow wood, literally 500+, palium anyone can mine the same node now so no more people fighting over them and its much easier to find out in the wold now.
lol. Say you don’t play the game without saying you don’t play the game.
@@Truthorlier "was"
I may check out the new update, but reality is that most of the things that cause my love/hate relationship with Palia still exist.
It's worth submitting this in a feedback form! They do listen to us!
I love this game, I will never give up on it. My forever comfort game
We love our plushies. ;-) Ya either hate them, or love them. ;-) Thanks for watching!
A lot of us are neurodivergent and plushies are quite comfy for sensory input IRL, so having this reflected in-game is a great feature for us. It would be better not to be judgemental next time and simply end your statemnt with your question.
@@therealzahyrawhy are you offended 💀
i love the plushies and I WANT THEM ALL but i want SO MANY and it’s ridiculous how difficult theyve made it. they are kinda being bttheads! D< yet i will still play cause its my hyperfocus again but i just wish the drop rate was better ):
Yes on earning pets , save the nice ones for the premium shop .
Thank you so much for this! I may need to start playing Palia again!
You definitely should!! ;-) Thanks for watching!!
I have been trying for so long to get the sernuk plush that I have lost all interest now. I wish they had made them easier to get.
The drop rate is definitely extremely low. 100% wish they would raise it a bit.
You dont have to feel alone. I struggle as well to get the sernuk elder and the sernuk disco plush. I wish Palia can increase the drop rate.
Although I'm still having major problems on PC with planting seeds in my crops , sometimes I might can get 2 planted but its just not letting me.
5. I wish they hadn't laid off those people. That sucks! 😕
I hope this game doesn't die.
The shop is definitely VERY tempting. Especially with the new stuff but it's just TOO dang expensive. LOL Ya gurl's broke! LOL
Why didn’t they give us more farming plots? Also the fishing is what’s killled the game for me. I’d tried for hours and hours to get fish for the bundles but they’re impossible….
Definitely need more farming plots!! And yes, those bundle fish are killer!!
Highkey wished the farming option or plot had more expansion options cause I wish I could spend more time in it, cause it's so relaxing to do.
Well, it made me come back :D
@@JadeMistGaming True Your right and they said they will in the future? Thats what i heard.
Truly hope it's a "yet" as well. It definitely has so much potential for being even better. Thanks for watching!!
You're ideas and feedback are great! It's worth submitting a feedback form to the devs as they really do pay attention to those!
For players that want to do feedback it’s on the Palia website. Once you login you can find it and follow the instructions. Hope you submit your ideas they sound great.
A way to help multiplayer is to add a small bonus to your party for increased resources and drop chances.
It better be enough! Totally love it!!
I absolutely love Palia, but in the last couple of months I feel like there is nothing to do anymore because the thing that keeps me playing the game is the characters and the stories you learn along the way now that I've completed all of the quest and the main story I feel like I don't enjoy the game as much but this update may change that because another thing I love to do in Palia is build, I do agree with you that they should have had this update sooner and it would have had a stronger impact
i need another zone so bad with a new town hub to chill at and some new npcs... who knows how long that will take when they have all these layoffs :/ i want this game to succeed, just looking rough right now
I want more storyline… I personally don’t want to play with other people…I want more map areas, storylines and things to work towards.
Agree, Peaches. I am honestly worried they're gonna push this into a game that leaves solo players on the sidelines, like so many others.
I recently started playing
I do think the next update should be a major community update and the one after the edlerwoods, once those are in i think alot of players will return
We should definitely be getting a summer festival now so hopefully after that they continue with new content relatively soon. :)
Even though the value of thw starstones have reduced a little ive found theyve dropped a ton more. Esp starstones i got like 4 the other day and like 5 normal stones. Build times for housing stuff has decreased majorly also. I love the game so much and am so glad for most of the changes
I have definitely noticed way more drops of them as well. :)
THANK YOU JADE! (Yes, the caps are necessary to express my gratitude). This video has given me a reason to actually log on to the game and start enjoying playing it again. #Jade4PaliaPartner
You're so welcome!! I'm so glad to see you wanting to jump back in!! Let the plushie hunting commence!! lol
Why can't they be like Blizzard and have a like a twice a year sale on there store items like mounts , pets or gear .
Also i thought the purpose of the wait times was to make sure we did come back to the game & keep us from burning through gameplay too fast
I don’t see a lot of people coming back to this game.
if sims4 , animal crossing, etc can exist for 10+ years im sure they will figure it out, hopefully 🤞🏻 the potential is there for sure
I need more storyline to make me come back.
Randomly decided to download the game for the first time time today. I guess I picked a good time to check it out :D
Anything worth knowing going in?
Definitely a good time to check it out! Welcome! There's lots to do so take your time and just enjoy it. ;-)
This is by far the best game I have ever played. I see the game only getting better from here. 😊
Grinding for materials and then waiting for something to be build or make? I do not like that at all . I played a few games like that and I enjoyed them, but after a while this game mechanic became so annoying that I stopped playing those games .
If it would give a option for non fighting or shooting animals. I won't play again. I loved the set up and the visual beauty
Hot Pot was the only thing I needed from this update to get sucked back into playing lol 💜 all the new stuff is definitely keeping me busy between night markets though! 😂
I have finally played Hot Pot and can confirm it's so addicting!! LOL
I've uninstall back then. After update im give it a second chance and now im addicted to this!!
i wish there's a single player mode bc i hunt all by myself most of the day. plus the buffering is annoying (i get it's probably bc of my wifi connection, but it won't have to buffer if i play offline) 😭😭
I personally like the multi-player aspect of it. It wouldn't be much of an "mmo" as they market it as if it wasn't multiplayer.
This will forever go down (for me) as the game that had the utmost potential that devs just absolutely fumbled. Such a shame!
I loved Palia, but I just can’t bring myself to play again… :(
I've seen the words, MAJOR and HUGE but have yet to see any changes that match. We got a few tweaks a house model and some basic building things.. games heading to the grave for sure.
Most of the major changes are with the economy changes that have restructured a lot in the game. I can definitely tell the difference. But I completely understand your view as well. Thanks for watching!
They need to make twitch drops also available in the game because not everyone uses twitch .
It's free so there's really nothing to lose. ;-)
I just found the game and live it.
That's great! So glad you're loving it!
this game asks for WAY too much grind and its all RNG... It gets boring sooooo fast. I lost interest. Everything they "added" just added more grind and more resources that I dont have the room to store. Its not better, its actually worse
I liked the game, but the team didn't fix my bugged quest. So I dropped it out. I was frustrated.
Oh no! I'm sorry to heart that. :( What bug are you experiencing?
this game looks cute as fuck, def going to give it a go! cant believe i didnt hear about it before, maybe they need to put a bit into their marketting haha
Thank you so much for watching! Glad to see you're enjoying my content.
I just started playing recently, and I'm upset that you can't earn any basic pets 😢
I dropped the game in the beginning due to the issues, but I hope they update how useful multi-player is, and make things a lot easier to collect from the beginning. The beginning is ROUGH and I shouldnt need 100 YT guides.
The raids and parties. This is what this game is missing.
Do it, you will get some cool items from romancing different npc
The game is far to glitched and they don't fix them, yet they have the staff and time to put out products they want us to purchase in the premium shop. Nope, not giving them another dime of my money unless they fix all the glitches including those that prevent players from collecting the rewards which we have earned from hunting and quests.
They *need* to make the game multiplayer. Given that it is supposed to be a "cozy mmo" - The fact that my wife and I can't build upon a plot, together just defeats the purpose, imo.
You can build together. You just have to set the permission for her to be an editor. She just can't use her own furniture on your plot. You can place down all your items you want her to user and she can move them all around and design it the way she wants.
i can never find anyone to party up on in palia :(
Feel free to join my discord and post when you're looking for a group. :)
I absolutely love playing this game but wish I had someone to play with, occasionally I’ll tag along with someone but think they must think I’m strange following them 😌
@@0nlyme-r5n add me Empz join up in a party and we can hunt and whatnot together and share loot
@@JadeMistGaming im in the discord, i just dont understand discord much lol
You can always ask in chat if someone wants to go fishing, mining etc. sometimes you get a couple players and other times you may not but that’s how I met players and made friends in game. Discord also helps
The spring update completely broke some of the quests making the game somewhat unplayable for me. Also the flower on the ground around the world were so lazily put? Like they were literally inside other objects or just throw across a walking path. It felt like they didn't playtest or look at their work. After a week or two of the quests still being bugged I just lost all motivation to play.
I get you, they have fixed those decorative flowers now and have fixed alot of those spring bugs so maybe try again?
Update looks great. I can finally make my Spencer Mansion. 😭 But sadly my pc is broken and I'm too broke to fix it and I don't have a switch. Smh. 🤦♂️
Oh no! I hope you'll be able to get it fixed soon!
I truly hope more multiplayer aspects are introduced into the game. Thanks for watching!!
I looked at the store and was like wow they want that much for THAT!!!! I'd rather pay for something smaller and nicer. It was really ridiculous.
i was over it after learning you cant play the game and unlock outfits. but hopefully they fix it. but... ehh...
"Save the game". Lol. The game is getting more and more players and is healthy.
Great video! I’m starting to lose interest in the game it really could do with a trade function instead of the daily requests. Am I alone here?😂❤
Definitely not alone!!
There's no "Too late" for Slow life non competitive cozy game.
Hardly a major update that changes much.
Sorry you feel that way. Thanks for your input and thanks for watching!
You may enjoy the elderwoods whenever that comes to the game hopefully in the next few updates. Deffo check back when it drops
Is it enough? No.
Being a negative Nancy for views sucks. Palia is going strong and thriving.
What
Simply expressing my concerns that obviously tons of others agree with. It's called constructive criticism. But thanks for watching and commenting! Have a fabulous day! ;-)
Did you actually watch the video?? Sure, the title feels that way, but once you watch it you'll see the love Jade has for the game and honest concerns/criticism.
