The finest film scorer in history at perhaps his most exhilarating
Finally got this magnificent score by the late and GREAT Jerry goldsmith on CD today which joyfully completes my soundtrack collection from one of the greatest alltime composers! '84 was an amazing year for Jerry,this score,Gremilins and the electronic masterpiece Runaway all in that year and all 3 major works!!

My second favorite composer here nailed it again!!! I love the strong familiraty of the main theme of this great score to his main theme to his monstrous score to Star trek the motion picture! Jerry goldsmith will forever live on as a film composing legend and this score to Supergirl proves every bit of that in each note of music!!!

The Superman theme has to be one of the best themes of all time to any movie. This is not as great...but its still a very good theme for the franchise.

@@alexbastos6960 Movie is underrated in my opinion, kids love it. I know I did as a kid. We all did in the neighbourhood. This music does a LOT to make the movie, and Helen Slater ... she could read a phone book in that costume, and I would buy a ticket.

It's one of the main reasons I love movies.
Though we can probably agree this movie isn't a masterpiece or anything, I did *love* it as a kid as well.
And now that you've mentioned it, ... Yeah, Helen Slater may just have been my first celebrity crush. ❤️
Answering the question....what if Goldsmith HAD written Superman instead of Williams.
Goldsmith was choosen to score Superman (Donner and Goldsmith had a great relationship after The Omen, 1976),but Goldsmith was very busy in 1978, so Goldsmith recommended Williams for that film.
