Trust me, i'm a very patient and calm person but working in this industry, i meet the worst people that are beyond my understanding and pure unreasonable. I get exposed to this situations and it changed me as a person just under the course of 2 months, I can't take it anymore and sometimes i feel kinda suicidal because if i were to ever lose my cool, i will get terminated.

From the way we see how Chuan Chuan responded to these questions with intelligent inputs, it appears to be that the family will be much better off without the husband. He is like an anchor to the family and must be cut loose.
Chuan Chuan is a sensible and long suffering woman. She seems resigned to her fate having married an immature, irresponsible, abusive, violent, mentally and emotionally unstable man who has issues with anger management. He even harms his children in his anger. Clearly her husband needs help and Counselling. He lives in his own trap and is affecting his loved ones. Chuan Chuan forges through her hardships for the sake of her 3 children and is doing all she can to keep the family together. At the same time she also wants to help her messed-up husband. The key now lies in her husband to make a radical change by getting treatment and Counselling on anger management so he can start living like a true man who can provide and look after his wife and children properly.

Honestly speaking, this guy shouldn't even have a family. He is sick and no women should ever suffer at the hands of men. I am speaking as a child who lived through this nightmare as a kid and believe me when i say i was glad my mum brought us (3 kids) and left my dad for good. Through all the struggles, without our dad in the picture we became stronger and better people with all the help from the community. Now me and my sister are in Uni and my brother is in Poly and its no part thanks to my dad.

@KOTheWorld In the first episode uploaded in RUclips, the daughter actually commented here and said that the family are doing well without their father, so yeah, eventually Chuan Chuan filed for a divorce and they are living with Chuan Chuan parents and very much happy now.
I have watched this series twice and both times it is unbelievably heartbreaking because there are children involved. I hate how these people are unable and unwilling to break out of this cycle of abuse and poverty. I have been in poverty my entire life yet we live in a 5000sqft home and I some how was able to put my kids through piano lessons, take them on ski trips and put them through medical school although earning top academic scholarships really helped. I am disabled because of childhood abuse but I have not laid a single finger on my children and today they are both doctors, both concert pianists and are the most kindest, most gentle and most intelligent people I know. My son's girlfriend is shocked that they never fight which demonstrates that there is something wrong with society if people are expected to be hostile to one another where there is a disagreement. All children deserves a chance including these who are in this series but the adults are a different story.

You were the ones with nice bags and glistening watches. . I didn’t know people ate meals in the morning. Breakfast, they call it. Not till I saw kids with their packed lunchboxes, coveted models with the latest cartoon prints in bold colours- filled with loaves of bread that smelt of jam and other expensive things. Maybe that’s why I’m not very tall. Maybe. I could blame many other things about myself on where I grew up. On the rain that fell against the windows on our cold and stuffy weekends, on the belts that fell with the smell of alcohol and tins of expired biscuit. On the world, that fell on our young eyes, heavy and cruel. . My sister never turned out much better than my them. She’d spend hours shouting in the office as the principal waited for my parents who’d never come. I’d spend hours waiting at the office, which reminded me of lavender air freshener and the nice lady who smiled at my mother with promises of money. Promises. Money. Answers to promises came by as often and money did where I came from. . You buy branded products. Buy things for the hype. Buy things to impress one another. Buy things to accentuate your individuality. You write cheap captions for laughs and likes in the hundreds. Where were the frames to capture my existence? Where were the numerous eyes and hands whose pocket money could have fed my parents and I? From the way we see how Chuan Chuan responded to these questions with intelligent inputs, it appears to be that the family will be much better off without the husband. He is like an anchor to the family and must be cut loose.
Chuan Chuan is a sensible and long suffering woman. She seems resigned to her fate having married an immature, irresponsible, abusive, violent, mentally and emotionally unstable man who has issues with anger management. He even harms his children in his anger. Clearly her husband needs help and Counselling. He lives in his own trap and is affecting his loved ones. Chuan Chuan forges through her hardships for the sake of her 3 children and is doing all she can to keep the family together. At the same time she also wants to help her messed-up husband. The key now lies in her husband to make a radical change by getting treatment and Counselling on anger management so he can start living like a true man who can provide and look after his wife and children properly.

I am speaking as a child who lived through this nightmare as a kid and believe me when i say i was glad my mum brought us (3 kids) and left my dad for good. Through all the struggles, without our dad in the picture we became stronger and better people with all the help from the community. Now me and my sister are in Uni and my brother is in Poly and its no part thanks to my dad.

I was also a kid who lived in similar condition as chuan chuan's family situation except was neglected alot and in the end was taken out by the police because neighbor complain and put in salvation army for 10 years. Thankfully im out and even those years at the children's home was a nightmare. For those asking why kids don't look after their elderly parents, this is why. Because years of torture makes you confuse whether you should care for abusive parents or not

So far so good. My parents are coping well and even better. Its 5 years already. Im the twins sister.
I have watched this series twice and both times it is unbelievably heartbreaking because there are children involved. I hate how these people are unable and unwilling to break out of this cycle of abuse and poverty. I have been in poverty my entire life yet we live in a 5000sqft home and I some how was able to put my kids through piano lessons, take them on ski trips and put them through medical school although earning top academic scholarships really helped. I am disabled because of childhood abuse but I have not laid a single finger on my children and today they are both doctors, both concert pianists and are the most kindest, most gentle and most intelligent people I know. My son's girlfriend is shocked that they never fight which demonstrates that there is something wrong with society if people are expected to be hostile to one another where there is a disagreement. All children deserves a chance including these who are in this series but the adults are a different story.

i think chuan chuan deserves so much better. she socute, so hardworking and she cares for her children so much, but sky is abusing her so much i think everyone who looks at them must feel ver bad for them. she is even going through such tough times but sky keeps hitting and abusing her >:(

chand72 Hobson's choice. You don't have to be educated to have common sense. I've seen people get out of the slums because they chose to have one or two kids. Having fewer children enabled the wives to work as well and they were able to save, open a small business, saved some more and secure their own place. Yes, escaping poverty can be done by making wise choices in life, like finishing school, going to college or train for a trade before popping out kids and hooking up with losers.
