This is an episode of the Office that is jam packed with amazing bits and meme-able one-liners; and also some weird choices.
"It was on company property, with company property. So, double jeopardy, we're fine."

Michael saying "I'm not superstitious. But I am a little stitious" is one of my favorite lines in the entire show. I laugh every time. It's so emblematic of the character and Carell's delivery is absolutely perfect.
Possibly my number one line, I love it so much
The one of his (Michael's) lines like that I always remember is "Maybe next time you will estimate me.."
I have GENUINELY said that to someone when they have proclaimed that they underestimated me. After seeing Michael say it in the show.
They really should have called this episode Hit and Run, I mean it's right there and they never even make the joke
They probably didn't want to risk that joke.
Bc a hit and run is a very dangerous thing, and it wasnt what Michael did.
He messed up, but not that badly
Nipple chafing is a very common problem for runners. As a runner, this is one of my favorite episodes because of all the cliche runner things like carbo loading and Andy's drafting 🤣
There's so many bits in this episode that I couldn't work a lot in naturally. I would have felt like Michael trying not to tell the camera's about his Jamaica trip with Jan.
the carbo loading bit gets me every time, and the fact michael was moaning over covering 3.1 miles. lmaooo
i think he did ok for a guy with a fettuccine rock in his stomach
@@Mulverine I think the worst scene when Jan orders Pam to stay away from Michael. I imagine Pam refused to stay away and wanted to tell the whole truth until Jan covers her ears so she can't hear her as she orders her to leave and says that she will not tell Michael about this. That's my lease scene in this episode.

For the record, I absolutely loved the nipple chaffing bit. It’s funny because you’re so sure he’s overreacting and over preparing and suddenly they cut back to him and the man is genuinely bleeding 😂
It's one of those moments that you're almost certain was put in for the fanfiction fodder.
My favorite deleted scene from this episode is when Michael suggests that Meredith must have been drunk and stepped in front of him, but everyone thinks that's a low blow, saying that 8:00 AM seems early even for her to be drinking. Meredith concurs, because "You can't get drunk on Kahlua."
Meredith is a badass and I'm glad the show finally gave her some cred in the lice episode where Pam goes out for a beer with her and tells her just that. I always thought the series dunked on Meredith a bit much by playing up the drinking/sex aspect of her life along with her looks at the expense of her other character strengths.
But you can put it in your coffee ☕️

Dwight killing Sprinkles bothers me.
Like, clearly this cat had a LOT of issues. But you don't just kill someone's cat without talking to them first. And the way he said it. "You left your TV on, and Sprinkles is dead."
Yeah, but that's Dwight lol. Anyone else would have administered the medicine, maybe told Angela she might want to think of putting Sprinkles out of her misery, and leave it at that. Only Dwight takes it to Nat Geo lengths.
Completely agree with the score. For me, season 4 is my absolute fave. Love the Jim and Pam beginnings, Michael and Jan, Dwight and Angela fights, The Toby goodbye episode, The dinner party episode, The money episode is so well done in my opinion, and just don't get people bashing on this season.

I'm just realizing that when we see Jan asleep on the bed, you can see three pillows neatly placed as a makeshift headrest so that Michael can sleep on the floor, which is why he gets that small bed/seat we see in The Dinner Party :0

The first time I heard the "I'm a little stitious" goof I screeched laughing. Out loud howling. It caught me SO off guard and sent me rolling. One of my favorite lines in the show
My favorite part of the episode is when the camera crew outs Jim & Pam dating. Also, "PB&J", though it's odd adding "What a waste!" to something so perfect, even in context.
They're adorable. Kevin's king in this episode though. He has such great moments. "What a waste" and "Are you kidding me?" are phrases that I cannot say in my normal voice.

fun run may be my favorite episode of the office for its use of scenes like every one lands imo....its for sure a top 5 written episode and being a 2 parter helps...its hilarious and not only continues stuff from the previous season but continues it in a natural way with drama and new revelations and story beats for the season to come..and its just great as a stand alone too cause its memorable as heck...if you wanted to started someone on this show this episode is a great way to do it to get them invested...heck they can watch the show from season 4 on and not miss too much...it like resets the series...

Well, technically Michael didn't 'expose himself' to Pam, Pam walked in on him while he was changing and he immediately made his best effort to cover himself up. While it might not be directly tied to the theme of this particular episode, it's definitely the kind of thing that could happen in The Office and it sets up a number of jokes and references in future episodes, always a good thing and more than adequate justification for its inclusion here.
He said “come in” while he had his pants off. That would fall into the “exposing” oneself category imo. Lots of other options to take that don’t entail showing your privates to a coworker.
Angela's love for animals was poorly written as a shit joke tbh. She constantly contradicted her own morals and just cared for her own selfish interests. Maybe that is correct..
Angela is kind of the worst, but she gets some redemption down the way. That does make her character more palatable on rewatches.

@@Mulverine The funny thing about Angela is that she actually seemed to really like Pam the most out of the office women, and always seemed on the verge of striking up a genuine friendship before ultimately detonating it each and every time. Angela must be a Scorpio (jk) 😉

Weird episode, even for the Office(Pam buying a celebrity sex tape?). Maybe because it was two episodes merged together, I still enjoyed it.... Thanks for this; I can't get enough of this old show.

It's not as if the nipple chafing is out of nowhere. It's a very real issue with running. I fixed it by changing the material shirt I wear while exercising, but sometimes it still happens. My right side is particularly susceptible. I've never put bandages and stuff on myself for a run though. I'm also surprised that none of Andy's prep worked for him at all.
In the beginning of t(e episode Andy says “did you see who did it”

This video made me happy. I’ll tell you why: judging by this critique, you have the same issues with this season that i have. So I’m not that wrong for having major issues with this season. I don’t think this is the continuity that season 2 and 3 deserved. Fees like a rupture. Apart from the Goodbye Toby two episodes, I’m not the biggest fan of this season. I have a lot of problems with it because I find myself fishing for good balanced moments or having to ignore lots of things to actually enjoy the tone that they were aiming for.
