These are some tips I like to give my clients! Btw I’m not sure if you mentioned any of these on your video I’m just about to click play! 😁 *sulphate free shampoo only! *No conditioner on the scalp only ends! *They need to be maintained every 4-8 weeks 12 at max. *No swimming underwater in chlorine or saltwater it causes matting *No going to bed with wet hair * silk or sateen pillow cases are best for the extensions * we recommend to put oil on the ends of hair every day * a wet brush is best to use when combing out hair (when brushing you need to be very very gentle) * no curling or flat ironing over the bonds of hair * use a leave in conditioner or detangler to comb out tangles *No washing for 2 days after application
This is by far the most helpful and informative video about tape ins I have seen. I also have curly and shorter hair, and this was SO much more helpful than any video I've seen! Thank you
This is a fantastic video! Please anyone reading this, note that you must use 91% alcohol for removal of the adhesive. The regular 70% will not work. At all. 🤗
Thank you for the time you took for this. I’m getting my first time clip ins next week and I had so many questions and not anymore ! You answered them all. ♥️
I’m getting tape ins next week and this video really answered a lot of questions I wondered. My sister is a stylist and we have a big job ahead of us but I’m excited!
Now let’s see if I can find some good curly hair tape ins! Never have I ever sat through a RUclips video with out skipping forward until now lol you are the goat, super helpful. Thank you!
Thank you for such a thorough video. I just got 200g of tape ins installed and I'm so afraid to wash them and have them fall out. So your video really helps calm me down!
Thank you for all the info. I truly enjoyed watching this info/tutorial on rale I. Extensions. The only recommendation would be to have a lighter back drop. In several occasions you were showing the audience something in your hair and it was not visible.
Hello, it's a real good idea to list all the interrogations about the tape on your description : a very good organization!! You have understood everything!! 👍😽
SO excited to try these not a fan of micro tips I have right now because of the hard plastic and the visibility of them, they also keep brushing out when I try to detangle with my fingers, my hair is really short right now so I'm hoping that these will work well while im trying to grow my hair out.
Excellent quality video 👍🏼 very informative 🙏 just wanted to know how often can I wash my hair with the extensions? I’ve a itchy scalp and wash normally every two days
Sam Vay, I love your videos - you always give me all the information I'm looking for, straight and to the point. Thank you! I was wondering about getting tape in extensions for adding some volume to my fine curly just past the shoulder hair, that I usually style wavy. Not sure if tape ins are good for adding volume but I will look into it more. Thanks!
Nice video! :) I just got mine installed and I paid $2,012.00 it did include the hair, installation, root touch up and a toner and a $200.00 tip 💕 I am located in Northern CA. I am also all new with this and honestly it was so worth it! :)
@@annabrown5435 I got them off the first time and never put them back on :( If you have time to maintain. I loved them, but they were heavy on me as well.0
You are awesome. You answered all my questions and help my confusion. What I need is a 10 inch length. Don’t know how many packs I need and the cost? I needed a good quality brand? Please help. Thx
A little late in commenting 🙈 but WOW that was a lot of info but so well done and brilliantly put across by you ⭐️Just had mine done and I identified with so much of the info you gave. Had mine put in for volume after hair thinning and loss and it’s def worth it just to feel the weight of hair again! Xx
My friend traveled whole country to have her tape hair extensions done in one salon and was disaster. Hair quality and colour matching was really good but application was so poorly made. She felt pain every time she washed her hair. She forced me to watch RUclips tutorial and after 10min video I did her hair better then overpriced salon. So you have to be carful and choose wisely some good salon.
Great video on tape in- love it - but couldn’t go one day without washing my hair- because grease will build up between the tapes, so annoying, as much as washing it. But still cleanliness is more important.
Thank you so much, I’m struggling with my hair, it’s thinning and I’ve been trying to find another alternative to getting a style that weighs down my hair ❤️
Gently separate the tapes from the top a little bit, spray some rubbing alcohol to dry out the adhesive and then use an oil to loosen them out of your hair. Or you can purchase a remover spray online. There should be a decent amount of shedding from old hair stuck in the tapes, but you shouldn't be ripping any new hair out. Be gentle and take your time.
Wow, ok, woh. These extensions you're showing/talking about are not like the other videos I've been watching to learn about this. Yours are very thin, the others I'm seeing are actually quite thick, like you cannot see through them like yours, that's how thick each one is o,o. This explains so much lol Because in those other videos (thick), they describe issues about it being very heavy and can feel them on your head, while your "thin" ones are being described as the complete opposite by you o,o Now this is getting interesting. I'll finish your vid now just had to get that thought out.
I just got mine installed a week ago. I washed and styled them last night for the first time. I got them for length but you can literally see the separate wefts in the length part of my hair. I guess it means more hair, money and time that is not abundant right now. I’m going on vacation the day after tomorrow and all I can do is put it in a pony.
How long can tape extensions be on hair before it had to be removed, can it be used again several times on the hair, how long can it last, will it hold on the hair without falling off, does it get curly when it gets wet, does it feels like our own hair when we wear it and can it make hair worn?
Watched this video like 10 times already and I still have a week to go before I get my extensions 🤷🏼♀️ love your videos (: when are you doing another follower picture comment video?
Has anyone else started wearing extensions also just because you have also had problems having short and thin hair for a long time and not been able to get long and thick hair again which you don't have patience or not even have time to wait for some special reasons as me? How long can tape extensions be on hair before it had to be removed, can it be used again several times on hair, how long can tape extensions be on hair before it had to be removed, how long do I have to be without tape extensions before I can wear it again, how long can it last before it gets worn out, how many tape exensions do I need for short and thin hair when I want long and thick hair, how can I keep it on my hair without it falling off, does it feels natural like our own hair when we wear it, will tape attachment be invisible on short and thin hair, can it make hair worn, how to blow-dry my hair and tape extensions without it being worn if tape extensions have to be blow-dryed every time I wash both my hair and tape extensions and do tape extensions need any other products than just extra tape, remover and another shampoo and conditioner?
I have really frizzy and curly hair and I get keratin treatments. I’m scared that the extensions won’t blind with my hair and it would look weird when I don’t do the keratin treatments.. any advice?
That's why you would have to blow dry your hair every time you wash it (like I mentioned that I do, because the texture of the extensions is not the same as my real hair). It's kind of a pain, but if you only have to do that once a week or less, it's not so bad.
Ya but my hair is so greasy. If u have greasy hair extensions don't make it any less greasy (roots) so trying to figure out how in the world to do this once a week
Very informative video thank you! But I still have another question.. Can you swim REGULARLY with tape hair extensions without severely damaging them and your own hair too? I swim a few times a week (most weeks) in chlorine or at the beach. I don’t have tapes and I never have so I’m not sure if I should really bother. I was just considering it because of how thin my hair is and I am getting over my clip ins that’s all.
Cee Bee No! I am a licensed cosmetologist and I do not recommend getting Extensions if you swim regularly. It can get severely matted due to the chlorine or salt from the beach. In your case I'd probably stick with clip ins or a halo to wear when going out, but no Extensions when swimming.
Hi! I have tape in extensions and I live by the beach. First is before swimming make sure you have conditioned midshaft go the ends of your hair. Then hair mask upon showering. Wouldnt recommend going often tho! So it really helps if you want you can wear a swim cap instead thats what I do. The only problem i had is that my extensions got dry but nothing a good hair mask cant fix! Good luck to us mermaids who just want longer hair!
Hello, can you tell me what the price is for the 1 pack of the extension you used? I know you have to be licensed to buy them. I have a friend that’s still licensed and I want to see what the price is before I bother asking her to order them for me. Thanks so much
If you don't want to get them at a salon, the cheaper brand that I mentioned offers 20 inches (check out the video description for the link to their website). And yes, as long as they say they are human hair, they're safe to use heat. The website you're ordering from should always clarify that in the description. The amount you need depends on how much hair comes in a pack... it also depends on what your definition of thick is lol. But I would say you'd need AT LEAST 200 grams for them to blend well.
Can SugarBearHair Vitamins still fix my hair least after almost eight months even when I have only once tried tape extensions and gently tore them off my hair insted of extensions remover?
I tried them years ago and liked them a lot. They've been around for a long time now, so they must still be good! I think their website does a pretty good job of breaking down how much comes in each set and how much you would need depending on your own hair.
I bought them a couple months ago and they have synthetic pieces in their hair. It would melt off whenever I flat iron or curled them. I rather buy Foxy Locs.
I really enjoyed this video and I have a question. I have 4c hair if I get my hair flat ironed do they make tape ins for I guess you would say black peoples hair? 🙄 not trying to offend anyone so nobody try me .
Does it still blend when your hair is straight? My hair is shoulder length and I'm getting extensions next week but my hair is so straight I'm scared it won't blend
@@blank8974 they blend so good!! I thought I'd need to straighten my hair every day as well for them to blend but the lady applied them in such s good way
I know this isn't what you do as a styist but I'm very interested on your thoughts on the best type of wigs, synthetic and real hair that look natural. I refuse to dye my hair so I'd love to know of a good wig brand or maybe even clip ins that can go over my gray.
What about if you have natural curly hair but wear it straight?? I asked a hairdresser about tape in extensions and she said I couldn't have them as it would be too much hard work when I wash my hair I.e. blowdrying and straightening??
jennahoc1 I mentioned in the video that I have curly hair naturally. One of my clients also has very curly hair and wears tape ins. It’s a little bit of a pain (part of the reason that I don’t wash my whole head more than once a week) but it’s doable.
I also have SUPER curly hair and have worn tape ins for years now. My hair is also extremely frizzy naturally, so I’ll do a keratin treatment every few months to help, but my curl pattern is definitely still there. You can absolutely wear straight tape ins in your curly hair, it’s just a little extra work after washing or if your hair gets wet- but 100% worth it!
Chloe Lauren it honestly depends a lot on the cut of the hair . Someone I know used 1 and a half packs for her extensions and she already has long hair. Sometimes people with shorter hair require more extensions so it blends easier and makes the hair look more full
QUESTION ANYONE WITH KNOWLEDGE PLEASE ANSWER !! I WANNA SURPRISE MY GF WITH EXTENSIONS SHE IS NOT HAPPY WITH HER NATURAL HAIR AND I KNOW SHE'S BEEN RESEARCHING AND WINDOW SHOPPING NONE STOP. Psa tape ins definitely cause unwanted hair loss :( my hair is so much thinner. It’s an endless cycle
3 packs !? I’m worried now, I have a little more hair/longer than yours and the lady said I only need 2 packs 😭😭

Tape ins really don’t work if you want to wear your hair up in a high pony. Low pony or hair down they’re great for 🤗
Jennifer Jason people with longer hair can pull it off.. Especially when the tapes are applied correctly by a professional.
