Airline: Flybe (operated by Loganair)
Flight: BE6851 (callsign 'Logan 86BX')
Aircraft: Viking DHC6 Twin Otter G-HIAL
From: Glasgow (GLA)
To: Barra (BRR)
Seat: 6C/3C
Our flight today begins outside the terminal at Glasgow Airport. We enter the terminal and head through security, before heading to the Loganair gates.
Before long we are called to board and make our way out to today's ride - Viking Twin Otter G-HIAL. We board and take our seat in row 6 on this tiny aircraft. We soon get ATC clearance to power back and taxi to runway 23, where we make a powerful departure towards the west climbing out over the River Clyde. Glasgow Departure clears us to our cruising altitude of 6,000ft and we head towards the Scottish coast. We are soon over the sea and commence our unique approach into Barra, swinging round over the island and touching down smoothly on the sandy beach, splashing through giant pools of water before we come to a halt and shut down the engines.

That landing seems smooth for an uneven surface!

What a coincidence as I left Glasgow yesterday to go back to Dublin
Awesome! Hope you had a good flight :)
inflight Video Landing was bumpy due to a crosswind but apart from that it was grand
inflight Video the Twin Otter is a very beautiful plane, I'm going to fly to Kansas City to see my grandma on a Southwest 737 hype about that!
Flybe/Loganair could use the seaplane version of the Twin Otter if the tide is in at Barra.
Beach landings are class!
I have always wanted to do a beach landing!! You're a lucky man!
I like to see these " smaller " planes flight videos. Ty so much for all the ones you uploaded.
You're welcome, glad you enjoy the little ones :) They are good fun to fly on too. I have a couple more DHC8 videos coming soon :)
Obrigado, por mais este excelente vídeo! ~~ Eu me imaginei, exatamente fazendo essa viagem e filmagem espetacular que fez! ~~ mais uma vez, obrigado.
Very nice video! You have almost covered a full stack of aircrafts - from tiny props to big jets! Keep it up!
Thanks Leonid! I have another 777-300ER flight coming in the next couple of weeks too :)
relaxing video
did that plane do a push back with out a tug
if so i nrvr seen them do that is was coo.l
Yes it did surprise me I have only ever done this once before, many years ago onboard AirTran's Boeing 717 at Atlanta!
This video actually reuses footage from the flight that diverted back to Glasgow (an earlier video on this channel)
You are quite right, I was way kindly provided the rest of the footage from another flight by Sierra Romeo Tango to complete the flight I never got to finish :)
What I can see on this channel is absolutely magnificent and I was wondering whether you could fly to Poland on LOT Polish Airlines. The crew is very kind and I'm sure that you'd love this airline. I've been flying for a bit now and this is my favourite airline so far. What's more LOT is launching 2 new flights to the USA: to LAX and EWR in April so you might fly on one of these flights on dreamliner. How about something like that?
Thank you Adam, I have replied to your email - I'm hoping to do Poland at some point later this year or possibly early next year. Watch this space :)
OK, thanks. However, I have got a question on your website inflightvideo.tv there is a possibility to watch a flight from amsterdam to leeds whereas it's nowhere to be seen on RUclips. Is it on purpose or it's just an internet mistake.

you should fly aberdeen to lerwick it can be very turbulant though when windy
I am indeed flying Aberdeen to Lerwick in September :) Going out on a Saab 2000 and coming back on an E170 :) Then in October I'll be doing Aberdeen to Kirkwall and back, on a Saab 340 each way. Looking forward to both :)
enjoy it :)
And will be inverted flight from Barra? Interesting how there's a Beach Airport and take off from it.
Good job great to landing on the beach right. Thank you :).
Thank you Bret :)
Great video!
Thank you!
Finally you got there :D
You should do the Westray-Papa Westray flight in Scotland. It's the worlds shortest scheduled flight and I think it's about a whole minute long.
I had planned to do this instead of the Barra flight but sadly you cannot book a day return in advance, you have to basically show up at Kirkwall and take your chance. I like to have a plan set before I go so I opted for Barra.
Hi How fast is the departure and landing speed of the planes?
Takeoff speed is around 85 knots (157kph) and landing speed is around the same usually, but stall speed is only 58 knots (108kph) in landing configuration, so they can land as slow as just above that.
How is the situation for Boeing style planes?
boeing 757,787
incredible !
Thank you!
Aww I was really looking forward to your next batch of flights the other owner of this account is not nearly as good as you Noel in that he doesn't film boarding and alighting.
Thanks dude appreciate your comment, I do have a couple of flights without boarding coming up but of course everyone has their own style. I hope the content of the flights makes up for it as they are really nice flights, Dallas to Denver and a long one Birmingham to Dubai with Emirates are both to come ahead of the next flight I've filmed, Doha to London Heathrow in business class on the Qatar A350 :)
Where does pilot land if the tide is in or how does he know tide times
26:42 Damn 3 point turn in a Twin Otter
nice video
Thank you!
max speed ?
Max cruising speed with the P and W 750 shp is 180 knots
Did it pushback itself?
Powerback, indeed.
wow cool!! nice video. It lands on the beach?!
Thanks :) Yep there are no runways at Barra, you land on the beach :)
That is fantastic! I'll try that later in my life :)
Bello!
Is this more expensive than an ordinary flight because it's s small jet ?
Awesome short little hop, really unique and nice to see it. Did you fly this one Noel ?
Thank you, appreciate your comment as always :) Sadly not. This is a collaboration with SierraRomeoTango (link in description) who filmed the latter half of the flight on the same aircraft a few days earlier. So the first half is mine and the second half his :)
Huh. I thought it was changed back to solely loganair
It did, as of September 2017. This was in 2016 when they flew for Flybe.
No problems this times ? ;)
Wait wheres that tall lady gone i think we call them a flight attendence were is she.
She is not there on the plane
I didn't watch the video but I've taken the flight and she is the pilot too
barra c pas un des plus petites pistes au monde?
ah non j confond
Il n'y a pas de piste à Barra;) L'avion atterrit sur la plage :)
Non, c'est un aéroport avec la piste plus petite que ça. C'est un Saba.
do you fly for work?
No, I only fly to film the flights for inflight Video :)
wow. that's dedication :)
I actually have my first flight of the year 2 weeks from today :)
Awesome! What route are you taking?
