I've been running pure Sunlu ABS for a while, and I really enjoy it! I love the black version the most, since it doesn't need any mixing regardless of how long it sits out, as opposed to the greys. I do have a bottle of Tenacious though, I should give the 10% a try.
Just got my Mars 4 9K Ultra up and running, still working on the resin it came with (which I am quite happy with). Was looking around for "hints and tips" on 3D printing and alternate resins and this video popped up. So I just ordered a bottle to see how it works.
Thanks for the review! I ordered a bottle using your link, and I'm excited to give it a whirl. I, too, have been using a 10% Siraya mix, and a cheaper one-bottle solution is attractive to me.
Siraya Tech recently introduced a Fast Tough Gray to the US market. Like the Sunlu, it is a mix of their Fast ABS-like and Tenancious. You should do a comparison of the Sunlu vs. Siraya Tech Fast Tough.
I have some of the Tenacious resin. It's good, but I've found it has to be 30-40% of the mix to make a difference. Looks like that Sunlu Toughness resin will be a better value because Tenacious is $$$.
I think the flexibility with Sunlu Toughness actually wouldn't be good for ball joints. Tell me if my assumption is incorrect, but I would think you want stiffness without being brittle. Maybe experiment with combining ABS-Like with Toughness to get a little flex but have more stiffness?
@@gaminggeek241 I JUST got into 3D printing so honestly its all new to me. I still got the resin to try out and if anything will use for mini's. BTW- Its David (the Beholder artist). Hope you are doing well. ;)
@@BluelineDesignStudio Of course I know it's you! How can I forget the artist who brought Bob to life? Feel free to reach out if you have other printing questions.
@@gaminggeek241 Thank you my friend! I'll for sure reach out as I'm on this 3D printing journey. Glad to see your channel growing. You work hard at it.
Actually the sunlu high tough 3kg is cheaper about €20 per kg I also like the Siraya fast but that one is too expensive. Unfortunately, the sunlu tough dimensional accuracy is low just like any standard resin, I still prefer the abs-like
Anyone having issues with the toughness parts getting soft weeks later? I think its absorbing water, I am going to try and clear coat it and see if it helps.
It's not even more expensive though. Sunlu sells most of their Resin in 2 or even 3kg bottles, which are a lot cheaper per kg + they have regular sales, where you get pretty big discounts. I just ran out of Resin when my usual wasn't available (Anycubic ABS Like V2) and since I heard good things about this resin, I got 5 bottles for 21,40€ (that's like 23USD) each. A 0.5kg bottle of Siraya Tech Tenacious is 35USD alone. That's ~7 bucks you need to add to every kg of the ABS-like resin.
I bought a liter of Sunlu Toughness after watching this video and now it now my go to resin for all miniatures.

This and the Jayo resin have been my go-to for several months now. It's super cheap and has yet to fail me outside of my OWN mistakes.
Thank you, very useful. This might well encourage me to try the resin printing again as I was always disappointed with the brittleness of my minis.
Thanks for the review! Been looking to upgrade my resin from the elegoo pla like and it looks like I need to do some experimenting!
Interesting, sounds like this is a good resin without having to mix and worry about separation.

i use anycubic uv tough and I've bent spears completely looped over 180 degrees without breaking as a test.
Good stuff! I loved you in The Goonies and Indiana Jones 2!
Wait, you didn't see me more recently on Everything, Everywhere, All at Once?!😜
😂
I sue the toughness fornmy 6mm minis. Ive had wings bend alot and not snap. Needed to clamp them to restraight them out but they held up.
Do you think the Sunloo would be good for something like an action figure will ball joints?

Have you tested Sirayatech ABS-like fast + Tenacious?
Or something like the Phrozen Aqua 4k + Tenacious?
That's an upcoming video for the Siraya Tech resin!
Great video
use Warm Water to get your Supports Off cleaner so there is less cleanup.
those are brutal.
How about Nylon-Lyke?

I haven't had this issue but you can mix some ABS-like or even Standard if you want to add some stiffness to your models.
Thanks =)
Did you change your exposure settings from ABS Like to Toughness?
No, I have the same settings and they work for me.
I had tested this sunlu toughness resin...but seem rubber & soft....not hard or solid....may i know what your setting?
Try increasing your exposure time. I'm running 1.75 seconds per normal layer at .03 height.
Honestly, even though it's a little more expensive, I'd rather just buy toughness for everything to avoid mixing or replacing the resin.
