    I think you put it best. These features that are supposed to teach are both a blessing and a curse. It'll help you learn what something is supposed to sound like and you can copy it, but if you let it become your crutch, when you move on to the bigger mixers that don't have it you'll probably be lost. Im pretty young, but I grew up with 1200s and the Rane 57 so I know what the early days of the tech was like. I won't say it's "easy mode" or anything but we've come a long way

    Spoken like a true OG. I just bought this mixer but it’s pretty much perfect for my styles as I’m a vinyl dj who only got serato a bit ago and have been using the scratch live box. Also I’m just starting to practice scratching and juggling more now so I’m hyped on this unit!

    • @Primesworld108
      @Primesworld108  Год назад

      Yes, it’s a real great unit really good if you need help with anything just let me know. I do I know alot of juggling patterns You can follow me a Instagram and DM me @djpriime

    I definitely agree! Also, coming from someone who has always wanted to learn how to scratch and beat juggle, this advanced technology helps me a lot but, at the same time learning the old school way is key because there are some basic fundamentals that the new technology will never be able to teach a beginner

    Having too many options can kill creativity. All those techniques we developed as Hip Hop Dj's were done on basic gear. We needed to get creative to find an original scratch/sound.

    Thanks, great words. Being from generation X I got to do with what I had, where everything was analog.
    With this mixer, does it depend a lot on Serato, or can it work fine on its own? All features like the ones you described work? Cheers

    Sometimes as a Dj you need the struggle to find your style . These things are more cheat code than tricks.

      Yep Thk GOD I STARTED ON 1200’s in 89, the technology that’s out now should be used to enhance what you’ve already mastered,

    DJM-S5 b/w headphone output with audio delay and master output, does anyone know how to fix this?

      Never had this problem, what exactly is going on?

      @@Primesworld108 I have a delay with the headphones and the master then when I turn the mixer off and on again this delay disappears, it's like I have to calibrate the mixer there are hours when I'm playing and out of nowhere this happens then I turn the mixer off and on again then it disappears ed delay, I'm trying to see if it's serato latency in the audio, but you can see on the forums for this mixer there are people with the same problem.

    What they've done essentially is taken the learning process away from the art form & this is why Everyone has become a DJ over the last decade. Sometimes it literally makes me cringe when i see videos of people that obviously never learned the Basics doing online tutorials on how to DJ & that's what ruined the art form. I guess with technology comes responsibility & 90% of DJ's are NOT true DJ's they just have fancy equipment...
