At the end of the day, the bottom line is no matter the category (Entry level, beginner, performance, professional etc) Pioneer gear will always be significantly more expensive than WHATEVER counterpart you pit them up against. You pay for the name, even if the opposing gear is technologically superior (ie; Denon DJ gear). Thanks again Sensei for comparing and letting everyone know the similarities, pros, cons & caveats of both pieces of gear.

I started out in the 1990’s on Technics, then Pioneer came and I’ve always owned Pioneer gear but for the first time there is better mixers and decks out there that offer way more features than Pioneer, I hated the lame excuse Pioneer came out with why they wasted the opportunity to innovate with the CDJ3000’s. Seriously considering changing over to the Denon X1850 and SC6000’s way more fun to play on!

@@rkashby78 what's crazy is I had the SC5000M's & X1800 setup. I sold them originally in favor of their replacements, but caught the Pioneer bug & got the 3000's/900NX2. I don't regret it, but the Denon gear definitely offer more.

a few years back i needed a Serato Mixer and i was on a budget at the time and thats when the Numark Scratch dropped.I .am not a scratch dj i just needed a decent mixer with some control functions that would not break the bank. The Numark was and still is great value and i am keeping it for a secondary setup when i find somewhere to put my stuff in the UK.The Pioneer does more especially on the pads but is a couple of hundred pounds more.I am wondering if Numark will update the Scratch at some point to maybe improve the pads and update the usb connections. That would be cool.

Nice comparison video. If you are into scratching the way to go is Numark scratch . I had it for 5 months as my serato mixer . Then got a used S9. The S5 has a lot of features but it is $200 more than it should be. Street price of $599 will be a perfect.

Right now street price for the Numark in germany is 450€, the pioneer is 900€. So yeah…hard to justify.
The Numark‘s value is fabulous. You get full Serato pro plus DVS license which is around 250€. Innofader alone is a 100€. So you get a very decent and capable mixer for 100 -150€ (kind of 😄)

I want to upgrade from a controller set up to a dvs set up. As im on a budget, im taking into account the three mixers that are below the 1000 euro range: numark scratch, pioneer s5 and the traktor z2. At the moment i want to go for the z2 as it uses the software that i use: traktor.
However as it is a mixer that has been around for 8 years in the market i think is a little bit too old.
