Lyrics:
Is there a word or right to say
Even in this old fashioned way?
Go make your move, girl
I'm not coming home
Would things have changed if I could've stayed?
Would you have loved me either way?
Dressed to the blues.
Day to day with my collar up.
Decision sits so make it quick
A breath inhaled from an air so sick
I cursed the day I had learned
Of the web you spun...
You had your hold till bleeding
Hey, Hey!
If it was up to me
I would've figured you out
Way before the year clocked out
Oh, I hope you're waiting
Hey, Hey!
If it was up to me
I would've never walked out
So until the sun burns out
Oh, I hope you're waiting Видеоклипы
their drummer always looks like the happiest person on the planet at all times
Iruparazzo I would be too. Literally the best job out there.
Iruparazzo
Do you blame him? It's a dream job.
He actually released a couple rap albums, look him up
Josh is the man. Such a cool dude
he pretty much is tbh
2:46 i just fucking love when claudio loses his shit
the fuck 😂😂😂😂😂 shit made my day!
+Cherith Teller He always did this "crazy move", but in heavy songs like "IKSS", "everything evil", "welcome home", "NWFT" not in songs of this type.
+Cherith Teller And i can't believe that took me 4 years to discover Claudio's "litlle dance move" in this video 😂😂😂
I NEVER NOTICED IT UNTIL NOW XD
same here lol and i have seen this music video a thousand times
Claudio is a hell of a story teller
These dudes need recognition
They got a lot of recognition in the early 2000s , i remembering watching their music videos on MTV. Coheed still has a decent following but to millennials who grew up in the warped tour era this band is legendary status
Hello fellow 30-somethings!
Sup
I see so many people hitting the repeat “2024” club nonsense. This was the first to make me laugh out loud.
😂haha😅
You got me
Damn soo true
Going back to gems like this, make my heart hurt so badly.
If you're young, please don't under estimate how beautiful your teenage years can be.
I just got into Coheed and Cambria with this red IV album and I'm 18 turning 19 this February. Well my older distant cousin recommended this to me, but I'm telling you that I've been so delighted with this album and really OBSESSED with this song on repeat since 2023 started (3 days). It's so nice to hear old rock stuff for me because it's just so nice to know all about different kinds of ways rock can be rock. I'm also inspired by mixing music and storytelling, not like music with weird or bland lyrics or good lyrics like poetry but awful melodies.
I don't like much rock music from my generation because idk, it feels pretty pretentious or nostalgia baiting in some ways since rock has been trending the whole 2022 yet look how it's not all that creative especially how the drums usually be hiphop with 808 drums but of course there's plenty kinds of rock so I can't really put my finger to what I'm trying to say. I like beabadoobee and Pretty Sick though. I recommend you listen to their new albums, both of them respectively
Sorry I just wanted to share that stuff, I don't have anybody to talk to about cool rock music and that's because there's sooo much scope for older music to explore and yet most rock nowadays are just noise. It's rare to find cool acts out here, you gotta dig since everything is all here online but you gotta be patient. I gave up and stuck to the Dirty Hit record label roster
@einev.1373 oh mate lol I've been a metal head (and sub genres) all my life, yet I struggle with today's music alot too.
A skylit drive was one of my favorites as a lil emo teenager. Same generation at this lot, and a lead singer that sounds girly, but with more of a screamo/emo sound.
Wires and the concept of breathing was an album that ruled my life for a while. Enjoy the journey! Some truly great stuff out there to find.
@@weeeeee374 Thanks for the recommendation! I'm gonna go check em out. Sorry it's been 8 days since I replied, but here I am still having Good Apollo I on repeat 😅
I haven't heard this song in 14 years. I just got chills
Do yourself a favor and get the whole album. One of the all time best.
Same here
goosebumps for me man, nostalgic as fuck!
@@benjaminvillarreal1499 This. They are currently up to 10 albums and each one is unique and different. Litterally not a bad song they've ever made and that is rare for any band, even good ones. My all time favorite band and this is my all time favorite album by them. And that's hard for me to ever pick one of their albums as the best.
This is a reminder to come back and enjoy it again.
Takes me back to my angsty confused depressed and amazing teenage high school years!! 🤘🏻😎
Back when I had to wait for songs like this to play on the radio. I didn’t have a cell phone. Didn’t even know what this band looked like until about 10 years later when I was able to look them up on RUclips because I simply remembered this band.
Mtv for me lol
I used to listen to a lot of Coheed. They would play this music video A LOT on Fuse TV circa 2005-2006, back then, it was a good alternative to MTV, because they actually played music videos and focused on music. Then it became pop and hip-hop only and soon enough reality tv crap, I don't even know if Fuse exists anymore.
Ten years, god dammit, time flies by.
TJC2 ...it does and plays more crap than ever! It's very sad.
TJC2 STANNIS !
It does
yea wtf how the fk did 10+ years go by
@@whiskey4609 man time flys
I'm in my 60's and my nephew introduced me to this group. It was instant love. But then, I am a big fan of Rush, Led Zeppelin, Kansas, Yes and most of the other big, explosinvely complex sounding bands. And they tell stories, to boot!
I read that way too quickly... the "I am a big fan of Rush..." part.... I thought you said "I am a big time rush fan".... I was reloading my Insult Gun...
stand down, soldier. it's all good! :)
Jackie Cassada if I'm not mistaken Claudio Sanchez the lead singer for C&C said that Rush was one of the biggest inspirations for them.
Marcus Baxley Claudio has stated that they didn't even listen to very much Rush until someone told them they sound a lot like them, and then they listened deeper and took inspiration. kind of interesting, lol
I dont think that is a true statement...you sure about that?
That was one hell of a Head and Shoulders commercial.
im fucking dead lol
+Turd Furgeson I was literally debating about making a post somewhere about this...
I'm dead....funny shit.
I was waiting for a hair joke 😂😂😂
+Roland Tellez R.I.P
It's 2022 and I still can't get enough of this masterpiece
Yeah it’s wild coming back to this incredible song in 2022
Well done, you have correctly identified the current year. Here's a medal.
Sammmmmmme!!!
Well yeah, dressed to blues day to the day with my collar up
Soon it'll be 2023 yet I won´t get enough of it.
There's something fucking magical about music videos (and music period) from the mid-2000s.
Wait long enough and people will be saying the same about music now. I promise you.
DN .Empires You took the words right out of my mouth.
P4ntless Ninja I say that about about the 80's and now they're as cheesy as f*#k.
you mean like the year 2500? when did you go there? must be nice.
+DN .Empires I'm not entirely sure, mostly because there isn't any one big 'scene' anymore like in the early 2000s. it's all so much more spread out now.
They say Claudio has a curl for every high note he's sang
END OF 2023 AND I'M STILL LISTENING TO THIS MASTERPIECE.
Listening in 2024!! ❤
I’m 31, listening to this song for the first time since I was a teenager and fuckin bawling. I’ve never had such bittersweet nostalgia from a song before. It brought me right back to those shitty amazing teenage years.
Ive been looking for this song for years.
haha nice.
No better feeling than finding what you've been looking for.
+Josh Starks oddly enough that's how i feel about this song, it's like he is suffering bc he is searching for a lost love
I heard that Carrie Fisher's last words were "g'nite, fuckos"
CptCudlScoops me too man just found it today. I think these guys started emo music with this song. I guess it was too much for the 90's cuz I never saw these dudes after this video
I'm new to Coheed and Cambria, but this song drew me in. Because of this, I've been trying to listen to all their albums for the last week. Awesome stuff.
Welcome Home buddy. Come in.
Just got Into them WEEKS ago. Beat Elden ring twice just listening to them
I’ve listened to all their albums, but this one always draws me back, its not even my favorite persay, there are just so many good tracks on burning star IV, and they all have themes that you can piece together or relate to in your own way.
Welcome to the fence! “One of us! One of us!” Haha.
You wont regret. a free treasure
That Voice must be Preserve for thousands of years
Amen

He has thousands of scream jars that will be preserved, worry not.
I just saw Coheed last night. I was so shocked at how amazing they were live. Better live than on record. I wish I could hang out with everyone who was there all the time.
This song never gets old. Ever.
To all the people bitching about Claudio's high pitched vocals, that is his style, and it's fantastic. The music wouldn't be near as good without his range. This band is sooooo underrated. I was privileged to see them live at Soundwave in 2011, I fought through the crowd to get right up to the stage, and it was well worth getting crushed, they are equally as amazing live as they are on record.
Claudio is *FUCKING EPIC* on All Levels! Fuck people with shitty taste in music
His vocals is a combo platter of Rob Thomas and Geddy Lee (of Rush).
I had the pleasure of seeing Coheed at the Showbox in Seattle. Such a great experience getting to see them live. I’d love to do it again soon! Their whole discography is an epic journey, as are the Amory Wars.
Everyone has different taste
Good to hear they are good live
Im in uk maybe one day
It's 2022 and I 100% JUST realized he said "I may be invited girl, but I'm not coming in"....you guys..all this time I would've sworn it was "I may be a Matador, but I'm not coming in"...🤯🤯🤯
I saw this video on TV 17yrs ago and it changed me forever. I introduced this band to my wife and she loves them as much as I do. So good. Changed my life.
Something so magical about this era of music. Take me back.
The most under appreciated band of the millennium. Tell me I’m wrong.
You are [not] wrong
Not wrong
is Closure in Moscow
ONE OF THEM.
They got fucking huge and were a staple in the cd binder of every (especially midwestern) 00 emo kid...that's definitely not underrated.
Such a great tune!
Good taste Suzy, damn just was watching ya before this
This one of them bands, right! something specific about you.

Pretty sure Jonah Hill is wearing Claudio’s shirt in Superbad lol
Educated guess
I remember watching this wayy back on MTV2 Rock Countdowns. Good Times.
P.S. That's the same shirt Jonah Hill wore in Super Bad!
this song deserves more credit than it actually gets
Years later this song is still amazing
Right on, dude! Recently had the pleasure of blowing my gf's mind by introducing her to this band. And her mind was adequately blown. 🎸🎸

All I see in this video is the title being "the suffering" and then the singer in the thumbnail with the biggest happiest smile on his face while looking at (what appears to be to me) a happy sunset....
hehe
First concert I went to that truly knocked my socks off. (2005 Central Park, NYC for free!) Feel blessed to have come up with them while they were in their heyday. One of the great rock bands of the 2000's era.
it is 2020 and this is still an absolute masterpiece

The prechorus to this song is my favorite thing.

Underrated comment 😂
When I was younger I remember I use to watch this over and over all the time, I thought it was such a cool music video

my brother was really into this genre of music, and for years this video was stuck in my head but I never found/remembered who sang this. thank gosh I found it!!!
How did I not know there was a music video for this classic?? Always been a fav of mine
im 21 but my brother (30) put me on to coheed years ago, best way i couldve been introduced to the band
You have a good brother.

Yes.

You got a 50/50 shot at a seahorse or just a regular human.

Do you think you will be admitted into Paradise without being tested like those before you? They were afflicted with suffering and adversity and were so ˹violently˺ shaken that ˹even˺ the Messenger and the believers with him cried out, “When will Allah’s help come?” Indeed, Allah’s help is ˹always˺ near. (TQS. 2 : 214)
turning 32 this year, so grateful for the music during my teenage years. ‘00’s like no other
it was the best time
Turning 17 this year and I absolutely love this song and this kinda music 100% the best era of music
When I was in middle school my dad took me and my brother to see an Iron Maiden concert and coheed and Cambria opened up for them. Never realized how legendary that was until I got older
So I'm an old girl. Lived through late 70s. All of the 80s and everything after. But there's something about this Era of music' that keeps me so happy to replay. ❤
This was the last era push before a lot of bands sold out
Last country stars faded into repetition
Then
Taylor swift happened
I've been searching for this song for so many years! I could never remember the complete lyrics or the band name. But i just happened to stumble upon them again while searching once again. Here i am now! So happy!!
Favorite song of my favorite band. 18 years and counting I’ve loved this song.
This song cemented my love for CoCa... had 0 idea what it was about, but looooved trying to sing along.
I don't know WHAT THE HELL it is, but I SUDDENLY, after a good ten years since I last heard it, got a very strong urge to listen to this song today! And this is the fourth time I have listened today. It's like an itch I can't scratch.
This takes me back to when i used to watch music videos before walking to high school in the morning 😌
Ambitious video.
Haha, his face when he's shooting the monster... Priceless...
Agreed
The year is 2007 and I'm 13 years old. Last christmas I was given a small black MP3 player; it had no display, about 500mb of memory and 4 hours of battery charge. I asked my older sister for some music to download since she had a job and could afford to buy CDs at the HMV in town and among the stack of plastic cases she presented me was Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV. She had bought it because she had a crush on Cladio Sanchez.
My Dad didn't really like music being played too loud and my Mum thought it was rude to wear earphones around people- they weren't harsh about it or anything but I was a really shy kid absolutely terrified of getting in trouble at all so the only time I felt comfortable listening to my mp3 player was late at night in my room, lying in bed with the light off so my parents would think I was asleep. Welcome Home, Ten Speed and of course the Suffering blasting in my ears, goosebumps running up and down my arms, and fantasies of learning guitar burning in my mind I discovered the joy of really getting into music.
This wasnt anything like the REM or Oasis my parents listened to or the indie rock on the radio. It felt like something that was just mine in a way, something more imprtant than music I merely liked, a sonic niche around which I could grow my nascent identity.
I'm sure most people have an artist or a song that impacted them at the same age, a core memory of sound, but Coheed and Cambria is mine. I would eventually move on to Green Day and Evanescence, My Chemical Romance and Slipknot, Iron Maiden and AC/DC, and although all of those bands were and some are very important to me they were pretty much the standard progression of a kid my age who liked rock music. Coheed was my thing and I revelled in the fact that no-one else seemed to get past the song titles and album names or Sanchez's singing or the weird sci-fi concept. My little private corner of the subculture.
I'm sure if it wasnt Coheed and Cambria it would've been something else but it wasn't so it isn't. This music is the bedrock foundation of all the music I listen to now, the force that shaped the lense I understand music through to this day. The man I am now at 30 years old is just a consequence of a 13 year old boy, listening to Wake Up in the middle of the night and crying.
Amazing vocals, amazing song
This video is exactly what I thought it would be when I heard the song the first time
It's 2021 & the masterpiece still holds
I was surprised when I saw the singer of C&C, especially when he has his double neck guitar out and just shredding that thing.
I remember this video coming on MTV every morning before school. Back when MTV was actually good - Room Raiders, NEXT, etc
Have you ever tried to sing this song, while playing the guitar, while defusing a bomb with your toes? It's hard.
These were the first rockstars I ever met. I was about 16. My first concert. Them and Avenged Sevenfold. I was a lucky boy. Saw them again years later with Jane's Addiction, and they blew me away. They're amazing. Thanks for the memories.
❤
Claudio's voice makes me believe that there are horns in his hair and he is secretly a mystical singing demon that only performs for Satan himself, but we were so lucky for him to take his vacation here on Earth

Cladio's a Tiefling Bard. Headcanon accepted.
Watching and listening to this music before school. I can’t explain how must nostalgia can connect you you to good music.
These Guys effen ROCK! They sound like So many Bands wrapped up All in One...becoming 1 of my Fave Groups!
2023 and my music preferences wont ever change.
It’s crazy how all Coheed and Cambria songs are based off the comic series “the amory wars” with the exception of one album, might try and read amory wars soon.
I miss being a teenager.
I remember not liking this song when my younger sister played it back in 2007, but it quickly became one of my all time favorite songs. Throughout college and the years after through all that has happened this song continues to speak to me.
I remember being in high school getting ready in the mornings watching MTV and this video would always play. Good memories.
I love that this Neo-Prog-Rock/Pop-Punk (looking at you Color Before the Sun) band with most of it's discography being part of a massive sci-fi concept doesn't have music videos related to the concept. What should we have the music video for song about the Writer and his Girlfriend feature? Centaurs and Krakens and Mermaids and shit!
I love that this vid was made in direct opposition to the concept. It was the most accessible song on the album, and they fucked the record company not only with the video, but with their approach to marketing. Love this band.
Yup. Still hurts the same. Time for another one.
I used to jam to this every morning before middle school. It was on MTV morning wake up. Iconic !!!
DAMNIT all of their songs are making me an emotional wreck. I am an adult. I have things to do, guys. I can not be a Coheed and Cambria induced mess of emotions, alright?
I love how Prog this album was. Am I the only one who thinks this was by far their best album?

their two best albums are 'In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3' and 'Good Apollo, I'm burning Star IV, Volume One'

The more I hear of this band the more impressed I am. And the singer/guiatrists hair rulez! What I wouldn't give to have hair that cool!:)

Their singer has one of the most unique voices I ever heard
Remember the day they dropped this and it played on MTV. Watched b4 going to school. Had it stuck in my head all day. Bought the album right after. That was like 15 yes ago 😂❤❤❤
