    Update on the reverse light issue. Morimoto sent me an entire new set as we weren't sure what was happening. I installed the new set and to my surprise... same issue was happening. I randomly switched the plug on the center section to EU from USA (my car is a US car) and both worked. Unsure if the little labels (EU vs USA) were put in the wrong spots but everything works as it should and very happy! I sent them back the other set just to be sure but otherwise, very happy with the install and product quality. Hopefully, this will help others! Cheers

      In Europe, one of the light is the rear fog light, could be the “problem” you faced?

    I installed the same smoked tail lights on my white 993. Have to admit it wasn't love at first sight. Still trying to get used to the new look.

      Sounds like some of the units have some water sealant issues as mine also leaked when washing my car for the first time. I'm letting you know this as maybe you could trade for red (rather than smoked) when they do the switch if your lights were affected. Just a thought. Best of luck!

    These look KILLER!!!! And the great thing is, it doesn't alter the car at all. So if somebody wants it stock if you ever do sell it, or you get tired of a look, you can just pop the original ones back in…..
    Great job on the video!!! This channel will be going places. You are doing an A-MAZ-ING job!!!!!

    @BryanBoardwell --- not sure if you figured out the issue with your reverse light or not...but there is a circular connector that plugs into the center section of the tail light. There are 3 pins inside. Two of them are for the reverse lights (drivers and passengers side) and the third is the ground. Maybe the pin for the drivers side just isn't making contact?

      Thanks Matt. I haven’t checked that portion for the center plug as it’s more sealed than the others were (one of the pins on the other one actually came out during installation if you were able to see in the video). Morimoto and Chris at The Lighting Guru are sending me a complete new center section which is already on the way. I think they are wanting to see what’s wrong for themselves as these are so new. Just waiting on shipment to arrive any day now and will update the post once I install the new section and hear back from them. Thanks for the thoughts though as it could be…

      @@BryanBoardwell Im actually the product director at Morimoto, so definitely do keep me posted! But for what its worth, there are two connectors tucked back there. One of them is for Euro cars, the other is for US spec cars, so the pinout is different. Its also possible that if you used the Euro connector, could end up with the same symptom. Cheers

      Thanks @mattkossoff5841 Yes, there is a US and EU connector. My plug went into the US one as it's a US car so no worries there. I will say it was tighter than the others... meaning took a fair amount of pressure to engage the locking clips but I attributed that to new weather seals on the connector itself. Morimoto and Chris at The Lighting Guru have been very helpful so thank you for the comments! I will be driving the car tomorrow to a PCA cars and coffee so we will see what several other 993 owners think of the new lights.

      Great! Hopefully just mis-connection with a pin then. As far as the light that popped out, did you get that resolved? I’d guess it was the rather tight fitting flat plastic studs that slide into the gold colored female clips that are spot welded to the sheet metal under the tail light. You gotta make sure it slides into, not on top of, to get it all lined up perfectly

      @@mattkossoff5841 In the video I explain that the center section moves a little from right to left and initially mine was to the left so yes, it was fixed and holding well. I speak about that towards the end. I'm also familiar with those tabs and proper installation... just had it shifted to one side and wasn't centered like it should've been. Thanks again.

    I recently installed these lights and have one gripe with them. The turn signal and brake light are from the same lights (one is orange one is red). When you the orange turn signals are flashing and you apply the brakes, the brake lights wont come on. This would be hazardous if you have your hazards on. Essentially no brake lights except for the 3rd brake light on the windshield.

      Thats a big issue, as you pointed out. Has Morimoto responded to the issue? Is it a design flaw?

    • @mattkossoff5841
      @mattkossoff5841 Год назад

      @@brittm3639 this is actually normal. On every vehicle that uses whats known as a "combination lamp' that uses the same incandescent bulb for brake & turn, the turn signal interrupts the brake on that side. The 3rd brake light and other side still serve as the "brake" signal on the rear of the vehicle even if one of the two turn signals is on
