- In this Chemistry video in Hindi for class 11 we explained the quantum mechanical model of atom. When we solve Schrödinger equation, given by Erwin Schrödinger, for the electron in a hydrogen like atom, we get the wavefunction associated with that electron. In this introductory video we explained what is quantum mechanics and where and how we use this mechanics.

Sir, you are an absolutely fabulous teacher. You explain the subjects with so much clarity. I just have one thing to say to you is please increase the pace of your teaching. I normally increase the playback speed to 2 to be comfortable with the pace of your teaching. I know that you have to write as well as speak simultaneously but it'll be great if you look into the matter.

What is Wave Function?
In quantum physics, a wave function is a mathematical description of a quantum state of a particle as a function of momentum, time, position, and spin. The symbol used for a wave function is a Greek letter called psi, 𝚿.
By using a wave function, the probability of finding an electron within the matter-wave can be explained. This can be obtained by including an imaginary number that is squared to get a real number solution resulting in the position of an electron. The concept of wave function was introduced in the year 1925 with the help of the Schrodinger equation
