  • For the 반별테마활동날 when we first got to the location I was like wow this kinda sucks, I should’ve just stayed at school to study (because the teachers were just all staying in a room all day) but then I went to the student activities and ended up having a lot of fun building stuff with the wooden blocks. xD
Another reason I’m glad I stayed for a 3rd year is that it’s really nice that former students come back to say hi to teachers… This week some students came and I chatted to them for almost an hour about how college is going and it was so nice. And they remembered the s’mores I made for their class over a year ago!🥺 I literally never went back to any of my schools to visit past teachers… 😅
This week some students showed me a variety of iPad games and I was amazed at how fast their reflexes are… It also made me want to play pool again. xD And one of them was a mental math/quick reflexes game which I failed MISERABLY at it was hilarious and I laughed a lot. It was a fun day. :D
Today was my last time at one of my favorite school events, the 벼룩시장 (flea market/games/food booths fundraiser event) which kind of has a school-festival feeling. So many students and teachers shared snacks with me and this time I spent a lot of money playing the bottle-cap pushing game and the lucky draw game again hahaha. And I tried the baseball throwing game for the first time too. I’m pretty sure it was my first time throwing a baseball too… I don’t think I ever played baseball during PE before. I threw it at a speed of 62 kmh. xD AND one of the students bought at X skateboard thing at the auction and one of classmates taught me how to ride it… it was so much fun. I think being around young people gives you more opportunities to learn new things… hahaha. And one of my students did a ballroom dance performance and it was amazing! And all of his friends were cheering for him and it was so wholesome. I feel like it takes a lot of courage to perform ballroom dancing in front of your friends at an all-boys school!
Also I feel like my Korean reading comprehension has suddenly improved so much… I think it’s because I’ve been writing practice essays every day for the past month in preparation for the TOPIK. At first the essays were so difficult to write, but now I can write a 600 character essay in about 20 minutes! Writing really is a muscle that you need to exercise… Last weekend I took a full mock test created by former TOPIK test-writers and ended up scoring a 279, which was 49 points above my goal score so I’m feeling pretty confident for the test. Fingers crossed that the real thing goes just as well!
I’ve also really been enjoying flying yoga lately now that my teacher has been giving me sequences with where my thighs aren’t wrapped so it’s not as painful anymore. I think my life satisfaction really goes up when I’m trying new things and seeing improvements…
