I just read his oldest son book he talked about the substance abuse but said his dad never did have problems with drinking and that he hated being around drunk people. He also said when his dad stopped doing the drugs -Coke and speed things like that-he never went back. Waylon did not drink. Read his and Jessi’s books. His problem was uppers and starting in 1975, cocaine. He stopped all drugs in March, 1984, and never touched it again.
