No tune is needed! The only time a tune is more required is when you get a downpipe (stage 2). Otherwise simple bolt ons like catback exhaust and intake don’t need a tune. However a stage 1 or 2 tune will make a drastic change for more HP!
Hmm, are you pushing the inlet far enough back that it feels like it connects to the turbo? It should fit in snug and when you twist to fit, should be twisting towards the back end of the car. Double check to make sure you ordered the right part that fits your car as well.
Hey! I haven’t noticed any induction noise that sounds like flickering. The only thing I noticed was flickering/clicking from the actual intake fitment in the front heatshield not being 100% perfect fitment.
Good question! You can use the stock inlet for the IE intake. It’ll fit just fine. It does come with an adapter for the IE inlet if you get one in the future.
I definitely noticed a difference! I felt more throttle and response. Not sure about HP as I never had the chance to dyno it. The intake and inlet is worth it!

I also installed the same IE cold air intake on my 21 GLI. But I cannot seem to get the "pshhh" sound like yours makes (3:05) when in park. It does make the sound when it is moving / drive but not when revving while in park. Does anyone know why?
Hey! Thanks for watching. Mine does rattle. Many other people have the same issue. Most put something under the grill to help with this issue. I find that putting a small piece of rubber under the front grill helps. I wish IE had slightly better mounts for the right side near the intake box to fix this issue.
Love the effort you put into the videos man. I have the same intake but with a CTS inlet and you can feel the diffence!
Thanks! Trying my best to make quality content! I definitely enjoy the intake and inlet. Thanks for watching!
I like the map performance intake but I want the heat shield
Just bought one myself, can't wait for the sound. Especially with already having an inlet pipe, turbo muffler delete, and diverter spacer

Yes! Totally agree. Great build quality and sounds amazing.
Just bought one! Picking up our new to us 2016 GTI Autobahn today
Same intake on my R - I would recommend putting some blue loctite on the bolts that hold the two sheet metal pieces together..
