hi guys in this video me and Jase replace the coilovers on his Audi A3 they were long over due as you will see in the footage. The parts we fitted are FK Coilovers off eBay.
I also explain what happened to the land rover in the accident.

Get yourself a pair of jack stands. Hydraulic jacks can fail which is likely deadly.

Great video, will use your training for my wife's 2012 a3 that needs springs! Please invest in a good set of jack stands. I've worked in the industry a long time on the commercial side and jacks fail more than you think.

I’m looking at getting some coil overs for my A3 sportback. Why didn’t you not just take the bolt out of the bottom control arm on the rear axle to get the spring back in. You might need to check the trailing arm bush to see if it’s damaged.

    Would mk4 golf coilivers fit Audi A3 8P? 2008 1.9

Shouldn't you have put the metal adjustment for the spring at the top? The way it is now, the adjustment screw is set into the axle where you can't even use the adjuster tool. If you flip it so it's on top, it gives you easy access to adjust without having to take everything apart. Both sets of coilovers I've installed for my A3 8v recommend you install it this way from the manufacturer installation directions

If I remember correctly, this was a while ago now they didn’t fit properly at the top, they were moving and weren’t a snug fit but was on the bottom

All the difficulty in this job ,is at front strut ,at the point to take out the shock from strut ,and after at assembly.
The key,is to succeed to opening very very well the strut. But this It is not feasible always...
There are a specific tool for this (to avoid chisel in the slot)with name "Suspension Strut Spreader Socket "
but-is-not-so effective" especially when the strut material is made from aluminum(see.S3 8p).
In my opinion the manufacturers are a bit silly in this point.
It could ,the one side of the hole was threaded(in aluminium strut, with steel sleeve).
When you wanted to open the strut ,very simple put a small piece of sheet metal,or a washer (2-3mm)on the slot-to tap the another hole-and after with the same bolt at opposite direction ,simply screw the screw, and the strut opening very easy and "healthly".

Ive got blue line jom coilovers on mine n makes a clunking noise when going over bumps and that, had new anti roll bar links bottem ball joints and new top mounts, however you did mention about the arrows on the top mounts why is that?

    • @tabb8872
      @tabb8872  6 месяцев назад +1

The top mounts are meant to go on a certain way they’re probably tilted slightly for the geometry of the suspension

why didn't you take out the bolt at the rear you could do it alone hihi it would fold right open!

Hello I just found this video looking around for A3 vloggers I seen you have the honey comb grille, does jase remember how much it was and where he got it if he did buy that. They are heavily expensive and I suppose I tend to be late when there are 100$ deals for honeycombs, Now I see $200+ grilles on eBay
