You do not have to grab the leather trim and take a bath when you remove the plastic. just open the ashtray lid, and grab the plastic there with two fingers and pull it towards you. it's easier 3 times :)
Luckily it was compatible with my steering control unit but I have read that you can have issues with this - it plugged straight in no problem. Next step was to have it switched on with VCDS because my car didn't come with cruise control from the factory the option was turned off. Once that was enabled it started working straight away mate.
medialync best bet is look for cars that are being broken on eBay, check out the interior and make an offer that’s how I got all my parts together pretty much
@@chipphat-official3425 I didn't record that actually... but if I remember correctly - Yes to answer your question... I think something had to be trimmed slightly with a dremmel so it would close correctly - it was some time ago now.
Yeah - it was abit of a pain at times... but not as difficult as replacing a heater matrix :) that my friend is one of the biggest hassles you'll ever face with interiors...
Thank you, very helpful. I actually switched the ashtray for the rubber tray!

Cheaper to upgrade parts than buy an 8p with all options?
Yeah it is, just have to wait for the right items and price to appear for sale or source them from a scrap car 😊
@@DSEC_UK Great, thanks! Looking out for a 8pa, and then upgrading the seats, steering and these parts!

Replace the entire center console for the armrest? Man I cut a hole with a dremel and it fit perfectly.... :DD
Nice one
Second part?
For the cup holder installation?
@@DSEC_UK do you have a video of changing the drink holder? Does it go straight into the slot for the existing pointless tray?
