This video is the bomb! Not only is informative and helpful, but the dramatic music and cinematography can't be beat! 😅🤣😂
Thank you !
Gonna rebuild a K24A pretty soon. Very helpful to see how things go together before getting my hands dirty. Really clear video. Keepers look like a real pain.
Like Thomas said, that sucker is really clean. It's almost a piece of art.
1:29 best sound ever, the only asmr I would listen to
Excellent! Springs freak me out whatever the size and with the scary music I feel like I've just watched a thriller movie lol 😂
Niamh Healy I feel the same way when I'm trying to compress springs to remove a strut 🤣👍
Perfect camera work and info.
Thank you
What a great video, well shot and clearly explained!!
Nice!
Thank you
This head is going to be a monster.
I appreciate any honda knowledge u can pass along, thank u sir
Thank you for watching! Stay tuned. The next video may be on installing the pistons
Nice vid buddy - very well done and precise. 👍👍
STEVE ROB REVIEWS thanks Steve! I'm still thinking of adding a hot glue gun to my arsenal of tools👍
That sucker is clean! (That's what she said)
Thomas EXOVCDS it sure is,I'm happy with how it turned out. It's a shame to assemble it and watch it get dirty lol
The mech a nic Keep it in the living room... as a 3D puzzle the whole family can enjoy. By the time your kids are 8 years+ old, they'll be able to disassemble & assemble with their eyes closed! =)
I was only able to record in the living while my gf was at work....shhh don't tell her I was working on the engine inside the house 😂💪
Hi, speaking as an old skool Jaguar mechanic. You do some good work, i would like to see more use of anti seize on threads, a lick of paint to help stop rust and would also like to see you use a brake fluid tester to check moister content. apart from that, i would not have any problem you working on my cars. as you know, mechanics dont normally allow others near their own vehicles. well put together videos aswell.
It was a great 12 minutes. The dramatic music was on point for this task. Can't wait to see the next step. Are you going with Hondata for the tune?
ADR thanks! Yes I'll be using hondata . The next video might be installing the pistons in the block... not sure yet.
The mech a nic I tried doing the k swap way back when it was new and just could never afford it. I know it's a slow process but thanks for showing us.
Love your k series videos!
bhadz100 thanks, I appreciate it 👍💪
You Know your Stuff,Very Nice
Great video
Thanks
5 years later how are the valves? Thinking about getting Ferrea 6000 for my H22
Great video!!!!!
Thank you
Nice work!
Thank you. 👍💪
I have a K24 in my Accord (Acura Tsx) and a K20 head sitting on the shelf. Great minds etc
💪💪
Thanks For The Vids Been Following The Build For A Couple Years Now, How Do You Feel About Nitride Coated Valves?
Do you know how much i can resurface k24a3/2 head? If I will use high compression ferrea flat valves? Thank you in advance for your answer.
Help me understand what your machine shop needed when taking the head in for service. You mention taking with you all the new and old parts, but you are actually installing the new parts. So besides cleaning, integrity testing, and resurfacing the head, what else did the machine shop do?
Swet little tool, excellent video Jonathan!
Big Dog50001 Automotive thanks, it's a specialty tool but I didn't want to deal with those universal tools 👍. After using it, well worth the money.
Good video
Thank you
does the kit include the spring seat , retainers and other parts that the main doubt and can you please tell me which is the best online website to buy this please , love your video so informative
Which or Where will the machine shop i can send the top and bottom block for cleaning/resurfacing? can i ship it to them? thanks
You make good videos ahaha I'm super blown and this shit has detail
Can you also make a video of when you install the cams? I’m following your build, I have the same interest as you. NA 300 HP K20.
There will be a video on that . I'm about to get the block back from the machine shop so more videos will come soon 👍300whp is beast mode
The mech a nic sounds good! I love the content keep it up.
What valve lash did you go with on them ferrea
Hey, what is the name of the tool you use when installing valves?
Valve spring compressor
Whats up man. I’m interested in doing similar build. What angle valve job did u get and how is ur pistons to valve clearance?
No issues at all with the piston to valve clearance using 12:5 pistons and dragcartel cams. The problem comes while vtc is engaged. I have my cam gear limited to 40° if i remember correctly. As far as the valve job i just took it to the machine shop n let them take care of it.
How much did you pay for the work done at the machine shop?
If I remember correctly it was about $300
Which is good for spring between 93lb or 80lb for turbo
Imagine doing this on a V12.
A ton of work! 😂
did you say why you went with a k24a4 block versus a k24a2?
Yes i have a A4 block only because it's what i ended up with
@@themechanic6117 gotcha, i guess i need to watch your series to find out how you ended out. good series.
this video was scary
I hope in a good way 😂
Did you have to lap the new valves?
No, the machine shop cut the seats. They said lapping isn't necessary
@@themechanic6117 thank you! 🙏🏽
Where did u get that spring compressor?
Search k20 valve spring tool on ebay
You can just push the valve seals with the hand.
They should "clip" in but its not easy to do with your hand. Its why they make tools for it
@@themechanic6117 I mamaged to just push them hard on an opel. You feel them better when they stop. After that I tapped them with a hammer slightly
What did the machine shop charge you?
I can't remember but I'd say around $200
No condom at 2:40????!!!! Back to watching...
Thomas EXOVCDS there's a glove on... you're seeing things 😂👍
Hey man where are you located?
Chicago
I figured, that’s why I asked. Would I be able to get in contact with you? I had some questions about my motor & I noticed that we live around the same area.
What questions?
The mech a nic I followed you on IG, can I DM you?
Sure
Did you sleeve the cylinders?
No. Just bored over .5
@@themechanic6117 How much did that set you back? Im just starting a k24a4 and the motor in the accord has 240k miles and will probably have it bored. Do you know how much hp it produced when you were completely done?
@@TexasP00nTappa I dont know how much power it makes yet but i should hit 300whp pretty easy with my build. My entire build (everything) is in the ballpark of 8k and i still have more parts to buy..if i remember correctly the block work was around $250
Great video. Very helpful. But bro, you see how everyone is passing you on the right when your driving? IDK about where you live but here that's very illegal. Left lane is for passing only. Just a heads up so you dont get a ticket. 👍
I thought you were supposed to lap the valves so they seat them? Idk does it matter if it's all new?
Everything is new and the machine shop took care of everything
@@themechanic6117 okay, did you have to take your new valves to the machine shop or did they just get the head all good and you just needed to install?
When i dropped off the head i also brought them the valves/springs/keepers
Why the build so slow
Marlon Tucker because I'm busy playing Zelda....
can you build me an engine :)
I'll think about it 😂
