Nice video, looks like you never got to really let it loose... i just bought an 84 model needs carbs gone through ofcourse but yeah i have an 82 v45 and looking forward to this big monster v 65 now..
that 2nd gear thing was the only plague I remember about these bikes.they were all 165 plus mph.honda v-fours could have become legends.Japan makes drasic changes in their bikes so that used bikes are not competeing with new bikes.after five years you can forget buying parts and head for the salvage yards.and then just hope you find parts that are somewhat fresh. and can be used to keep your bike running.being hooked on these old bikes has run me half crazy.most people never heard of what you drive.
😂😂The speed of these is all a myth. They are 105 rwhp and by today's standards nothing special. From what I've read from owners the speedometer is an increasingly optimeter above 100 kph. Real achievable top speed variable by GPS is no more than 137 mph or less. In terms of issues they had many problems with cams and stator output is weak. From a handling perspective in the turns they suck. Straight line one trick ponies.

What IS the speed range on 3rd Gear? One famous 80's french comic dies on motocycle accident with a vf1100. They said in 86 the revmeter was stuck and the 3rd Gear engaged. 60kmh IS possible?
Yeah im sure it does ! Also the expencif repear bills start coming in from the bikeshop... Btw i also own a Magna like the guy in this vid and taking it just as easy now with a 30 year old bike
Mine has developed a nasty rattle in the gearbox. But thats been there for a year now and its still going like hell...:))- Btw i have vids off my V65 with open tailpipes on my channel
Saludos motero.
cool bike I run a 1985 Harley 1340 you could beat me in 2nd gear on the v65 LOL . how come I see lots of pig ugly V max but only ever seen one v65 . I fany a v65 myself now probably be hard to find an 83 with lowish miles ?
+Bob Marley V65 engines got a bad reputation. Unfortunately Magnas and Sabres are appreciating in value. Last checked Cyclcetrader you'd expect to pay like $5000 for one that's over 30k miles.
I since sold the Harley because it was all conversation and not much action I was thinking about a Honda vtx 1800 but ended up with a Honda varadero 1000 fi abs . I love it to bits cruise at 90mph in the rain no bother and still good on rough roads . I done almost 1000 miles on it but now its all washed up with the battery out stored for the winter I use my Honda winter hack instead until march or april . I am over my v65 faze now . : )
I since sold my Harley and bought a Honda varadero 1000 fi v twin adventure bike . its a beauty great weather protection full luggage 250 mile tank range good fuel economy and more than fast enough for my needs very comfortable riding position and being a Honda ultra reliable . its great to see the new crosstourer vfr1200x . I love those v4 engines .
@@5440bubb Actually, yes. Thank you for asking. It could be 50yrs and your comment is extremely childish to say the least. Lost use of my left side but with therapy, my right side is on film by 6 Drs. from Italy and 3 from Ireland. English title is "Right side power after 4yr coma. Left side brain rejuvenation". Thanks. A 35ft. fall from a utility pole during a storm on a mountain in Pa. How are you doing? I can walk and probably throw you with one arm.
Christian, in California, the CHP say it is safer to split lanes than to wait and get hit from behind. I was in Nevada and a Harley Electra Glide Ultra stopped one car behind me (on Sparks Blvd, Sparks NV, near the High School). A guy hit him from behind at 50 mph (we were all stopped), the Harley flew over the corner of my right rear fender of my Corvette. The Harley guy went into the windshield of the driver that hit him and died. So, I live in CA, and I split lanes to protect myself. The culture of the car drivers in CA is that most of the time, they move over and give motorcycles room. Watch some RUclips videos of bikes lane splitting in CA and see the cars move over. Now, being an idiot and splitting lanes wrecklessly is not cool and idiots meet their fate much sooner than later! BTW, this video is probably in Europe (license plate) so "lane filtering" is legal over there. Peace brother.
These older Hondas are awesome bikes. I have a Nighthawk 750 and its a great bike. Good Video.
Was hoping you were going to open it up at some point. I have one, bought it new, still strong and fast, love it!
One spark plug was bad so iT run on 3 cylinders. IT puls a lot harder now when iT run on 4 cylinders ;-)
speedjunk1 I knew something was wrong from the noise and how slow your acceleration was. I have an 85.
83 has wide carburetor throat and big jet compare to 84 and later year, hence pull harder and accelerate faster.
Man he wasn't even getting close to redlining it. Damn fast cruiser!!
60 in 1st gear. These were rockets. I loved my 84

i got pulled over and the cop asked me what it was i have the sabre v65
I have a 30 year old V65 and lots of parts can still be ordered at the local bikestore where i bought my awesome bike

bike seems underrated as fuck. i'm thinking about getting my first bike and thinking about an older 80's v65.

why do you keep shifting at 7k RPM? that's where the power band changes from torque to HP and where the fun really starts to happen!
Yeah im sure it does !
Also the expencif repear bills start coming in from the bikeshop...
Btw i also own a Magna like the guy in this vid and taking it just as easy now with a 30 year old bike
Used to own one, still have my 700c. That things needs valve adjustment. Rattling will stop
geo rux I've got the 1100 and couldn't figure out what that was for the life of me. Thanks.
V65 have automatically adjusted valves! 700 and 750 had soft cam's that made them rattle like that i own both v65's c/s both 750 c/s
Dutch like old motorcycles and this is cool
I want a v65 in a heck of a way.
Again, for the record. The bike was running @ 3,5 cylinders, and NOT 4!!! A bad sparkplug was the problem. IT pulls a lot harder then on the video!
yes i know..it is a sports engine in a cruiser chassis..
...sinfonia...!
vi har lufttemperaturen? og hvad med giraffen?
Riding the way you do, Im surprised you lived long enough to post the video.
Nice bike though.
Pull that crap here in Georgia your butt be under the jail,no doubts!
Doing that at lights is perfectly legal in other countries (and probably wherever this was filmed)
Commiefornia is the only state stupid enough to allow lane splitting as far as I know....
You've wracked up some kilometers on that bike, any trouble with the transmission or the cams?
Mine has developed a nasty rattle in the gearbox.
But thats been there for a year now and its still going like hell...:))-

No problems!
speedjunk1 Ok have fun looking mine and leave a comment if u like..
Mooie fiets!

9000 rpm is optimum power on a V65...why are you not driving like it was meant to be? too much for you?
It was meant to rode comfortably and safely, that may be a concept that is too much for you'
@@darrellmount7020 Good one
Sorry?

"Splitting lanes" is rude and dangerous. And it really ticks off the cagers. Not recommended.
Splitting lanes is legal in some states, so do what you do but be CAREFUL.

Sorry. Can't stand it, when riders don't know how to downshift...
