    I have been using Ravenscroft for about 3 months now, practicing and recording the pieces I learned. I got PurePiano two days ago, honestly I think it’s fun to play around with it. But it doesn’t sound as real as Ravenscroft to me. I use my own settings that is perhaps based on Mona Lisa, but I’m not sure now 😄I play with headphones and this setting is the one the feel the most “right” and comfortable to my ears

      Yes you are right, in terms of real piano sound Ravenscroft still has the crown. So for solo playing I also think it’s the best. Pure Piano is great for producing though because it’s so versatile!

      @@FlorianRachor1 I also just bought AUM and Blackhole Reverb because I saw you mentioning them in other comments 😃

    Excellent! I really like Pure Piano.. All the extra sounds you get directly in the app.. and using the morph pad to easily adjust the balance of those great tones.. maximum versatility for any sonic exploration.. 👍
    Absolutely loved the Cinematic/Reverse blend with Blackhole.. Delicious!
    Thanks for taking the time to highlight Pure Piano.. 🙏 just what I needed to make my decision.. Pure Piano it is.. 😁

    Great review many thanks, I use Ravenscroft among others [ including a Yamaha C2 grande - real wire and wood 😊] , intrigued by this PP for the reasons you state. Regardless I prefer the timbre tone production of your analogue cats more than than all the options you present. Please provide the link to download them.

    I’ve been enjoying Ravenscroft for almost a year. Using it in live performances at church. Didn’t know about Pure Piano. I think it is an amazing option and I think I’m gonna get it to have more sound options in my iPad. One more thing, I’m also using AUM as my app mixer paired with a Korg nanoKontrol. I’m interested on those effects you’re using. Would you care to share the name of those apps?

      Sure, in this video specifically it's Eventide Blackhole for the long lush reverb tail. My favorite iOS reverbs are: Eventide Blackhole, Fab Filter Pro-R and Audiodamage EOS2. Those are the three I use the most.

    I tried the ivory American D and the Ivory Grand German. The velocity on the American D its awful in my opinion. I decided to get the Grand German. Sounds lot better.

      Yea, that would be great for playing. So far, I still use my desktop VSTs for practice and playing, but still, it's amazing how close it comes considering the price and size.

      It's called AUM: apps.apple.com/de/app/aum-audio-mixer/id1055636344 If I had to define a single must have app for music on iOS, that's it.

    Nice review!
    How do you compare the sound and response(velocity curve+velocity gain+latency) from those apps with Yamaha internal samples?!

    • @FlorianRachor1
      @FlorianRachor1  2 года назад

      Personally I think the sound of Pure Piano and RS might be better, but overall my Yamaha just is better to play. It has very good resonance modeling and also all three pedals work properly and with high detail.
      The only thing that can really be better then the internal sounds are some deeply sampled or modeled desktop VSTs like Pianoteq and the ModelU by Vi Labs. Those are definitly better then the internal sounds.

    Hi, could the app work on my piano (Roland GP-609 GP). This is a digital Grand piano. Unther the lid there are a few speakers. Do I have to buy other soeakers for this to work with the app? Is there going to be a conflict between the new speakers and those of the piano?
    Thanks!!

    • @FlorianRachor1
      @FlorianRachor1  2 года назад +1

      Hi Marc, sorry for the late reply. First of all this is a very nice piano. And to answer your questions, the piano has an USB type B port called a "usb to host" connection. When you plug the iPad and the piano together, the piano should be recognized as an audio interface. So the app will regognize you playing and the sound will come out of the speakers of the piano. (At least that is how it works with my Yamaha). Make sure you have the right cables and dongles. I have another video on my chanel about that.
