    Thank you for the review. I'm about to purchase this and had to do some research. Thank you for the thorough review. I'm going to use it on Garageband mostly, and am really excited to use it for my channel!

    I also have this Piano and although it's good I find it lacks depth primarily because of it actually only being about 1 gb in size and having limited velocity layers. I also do not like the built in reverb at all.
    I find the Colossus Pianos better especially the more expensive ones. Yes, I get that they are expensive but the extra sample size and velocity layers make for a more authentic sound and feel. The only thing I don't like about Colossus is the lack of a global eq built in as the pianos are quite bright.
    With Pure Piano and Korg Module Ivory, great concepts but small sample size and lack of piano feel. Because ipads now have way Moore storage, companies should either redo or launch newer versions with a bigger sample size for a reasonable upgrade fee.

    Just a tip: place the keyboard a bit lower and place yourself a few inches farther away from it.
    Then your body is no longer in the way

    Hi~ I just purchased the Ravenscroft 275 app. After watching your video, I have some questions that I would like to ask you. Thank you very much for seeing me and replying to my questions. In the process of using it, I have not found a way to shoot videos that can directly use the Ravenscroft 275 app to output the sound source while playing. I would like to ask how you record the video? Do you need to record the sound and images separately and then edit them together? Do I need to buy other converters? I am currently using a Roland FP30X, and I use the MIDI output cable to plug it into my iPhone to record videos, but I still only have the sound of the piano itself, without the sound processed by the Ravenscroft 275 app. It’s so sad. Thank you very much for answering my questions.

      Hi. So to record the video it’s as simple as screen recording the iPad. It will record the screen and the audio as one video. Nice and easy.
      This will record the sound of the Ravenscroft. Simply add recording as a control centre button in settings of the iPad and then you can record what’s being shown and heard.
      Hope that helps.

      Thanks for the reply. Next, I will look for where the control centre button in settings of the iPad. I have used GarageBand before and I didn’t get a good solution. Next I will try your method. Thank you and best wishes.@@JohnPaulMusicUK

    Is it just ears or is ravencroft a bit over rated? I have the app and it’s sounds a bit like cheap casio piano. The sound is thin and has no body or woody tone to it.
    To my ears the korg Synthogy ivory piano sounds better.

      Yes. Checkout the Apple system called IDAM
      Plug your phone or iPad into a Mac and boot up the app, then use idam to bring that sound into GarageBand. Check this out (not my video but explains it really well): ruclips.net/video/IXmP938brnc/видео.htmlsi=sLpli5oYBRI6uun_

    gave it a try. i don't like it. the timbre sounds weird. and the velocity control is pretty bad no matter how soft u set it, it just kills the volume instead of actually choosing different samples. idk, not worth the money imho.

    Can I ask if the sustain setting can be fixed as you play as after a series of strokes my leg is uncoordinated using a pedal. I use an IK Multimedia I/o 49 key midi.

    Question, if I want to use this but add a pad along with it, what's my best option? I'd rather not have to go to a computer if possible.

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  2 года назад

      For using with an iPad, make sure it's running in something like GarageBand or another DAW if you are recording and then you can lay down another track with the pad. If you are just looking to play live, then make sure 'run in background' is turned on and use another app in split screen mode with the same midi channel.

    I don't understand the point of an iOS piano. Can someone explain how you play piano on a phone?

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  Год назад

      Very difficulty 😂 but you can hook up a digital or midi piano and record in a DAW. I plugged my iPhone into a pro 88 note Digital yamaha piano to play and record with the full sensitivity of the keys. Alternatively you could record with a different piano, EP or even synth in a DAW and change it to this piano later on. It’s all about versatility. 👍🏻 😊
      There are people making EP’s and even full albums on things like GarageBand and AUM with their iPhone. It’s a brave new world. 👍🏻

    Hi, could the app work on my piano (Roland GP-609 GP)? This is a digital Grand Piano. Under the lid there are few speakers. Do I have to buy other speakers for this to work with the app? Is there going to be a conflict between the new speakers and those of the piano?
    Thanks!!

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  2 года назад +1

      First of all.. wow! The GP-609?! What a machine! So.. I know the piano has Bluetooth and MIDI. If it can then yes you would be able to use it with the internal speakers. You would set the iPad as the main brain for the sound engine and the piano would be it’s controller. 👍🏻

      @@JohnPaulMusicUK Thank you for the reply. I have purchased the app. Everything is plugged but it seems that the app is not controling the piano at all. When I play, my piano has always his original sound but simultaneously my iPad plays with the Preset sound selected. I have tried all the possibilities in the setting section (Active MIDI inputs & MIDI output) and my piano still playing his original sound.
      The GP609 shows connected.
      I have tried with Bluetooth and with wire and no result.
      Don’t know what else to try…..

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  2 года назад

      So what is the reason for the Bluetooth? Is it just to play songs or backing tracks over the top? Will the midi transmit via Bluetooth from the piano for the iPad to receive?
      You might have to reach out to Roland on this one.
