Great video, very useful. I have just changed mine today, did not torque with car on its wheels, will loosen the bolts again and re torque while on the ground.
Glad it helped, thanks for the comment 👍
Good clear video , thanks for taking the time to post .
Thanks for watching!
Very well explained and demonstrated. Thank u
You are welcome!
Excellent vid, TOP vid mate. Thank you very much👍
Glad you enjoyed it.. thanks for the comment, much appreciated 👍👌
Hi, great video. good advice about a spinning balljoint. My question is. See the middle of the wishbone. The blank middle bit. What is the name of the fitting/bush that this slots into. it looks like my sons one is very worn but the wishbone is completely seperate from this. Hope ive explained this question properly.
Think you may mean the anti roll bar link?
Definitely covered the basics, but those bolts are torque to yield, they should be replaced. Shop manual also states to tighten the control arm bolts with the weight on the suspension to load the control arm. I failed to do that when I replaced mine, the large rear control arm bushings lasted 6 months before they self destructed.
Thanks for the info 👍👌
Good afternoon. What is the torque setting for the bolts on the rear bushes?

Thanks clearest video I have seen, giving it ago on Sunday :-)
Glad to help 😄 thanks for the comments! Much appreciated 👌👍
@@diydaly Just changed both sides on my Fabia which is the same set up as polo. I spent an hour or so trying to get back bush to line up. Tried all sorts of rods, podgers, the bolt with mole grips just would not go. I noticed the white metal bushes are quite rough, so I used a little bit of emery and filed a very slight lead where it was catching. This did the trick and second side was fairly easy using same technique. Cheers
@@chrisdervin5420 nice one! Glad you got it sorted mate 👍👍
Thanks clear easy to follow video
You're welcome!
Have you got anything on putting a wishbone on a polo
A good video. Very informative.
Thanks for the comment , much appreciated 👌👍
Quick question what size are them bolts or where do you get them from as can’t find them everywhere
From the Vw dealer
@@diydaly I did end up finding them from a online vw dealer there also on eBay as a kit
❤Thank you
👍👍
Is the other side just as easy for bolt access and removal
No there is a small electric coolant pump you need to move to get access to the front bushing bolt. I disconnected the plug and the two clips hold it on can be just pushed off with a flat blade screwdriver.
I did the drivers side yesterday and one of the bolts can’t come out because of the oil sump. I had to lift the engine up to remove it. Simple job, just inconsiderate position of sump.
Should you not have tightened the 2 arm bolts with weight pushing up on the arm.
my wheel is massively toed in after replacement. What did i screw up?
Could just be the arm, advisable to get it tracked after replacement
@@diydaly AUTODOC sent me slightly shorter arms. Thanks for the help though. Your channel was a good find.
@@Danmaster01 I've just had the same issue but had to adjust the tie rods to their maximum position. I'll be buying from VW directly instead.
@@Danmaster01 Hi, I am experiencing the same problem.. Can I ask you where you bought the new suspension arm?
@@jensstallknecht8452 Hi I am in the UK and went to euro car parts. Part no 61544300F
The hell am i supposed to do if i have an automatic? Transmission's in the way
I had the oil sump in the way fir the right side, I had to loosen the right engine mount and jack the engine up. 🙄
Vidio is very helpful, but the ti titinig bolts should be on a driving possession not on the rump possession, because thene car is on the road the bushes will be under stress .
