Wow! What a wonderful explanation of a spectacular collection. You should be the spokesperson for Reykjavik Eyes when they would like a new video! Truly! Nice job!!! And the collection without a doubt is truly outstanding! Once you wear a Reykjavik, it's very difficult to go with anything else in the future for every reason you explained.
Hey thank you so much! It was really nice to read such great feedback. I'm especially passionate since I've got know Gunnar Gunnarsson, who invented the brand, and he's such a nice guy with enthusiasm equal to mine. Maybe I can create my own eyewear brand one day...
Really great videos like this, sort of overview of a brand. The only one thing missing is pricing. It's actually very important, if you don't know about the brand first thing is price, so that you can position and compare it to something.
Thanks! Hard to say a price when it depends on the prescription and each model is different. Plus prices fluctuate. You can always enquire about the price of an individual pair in your prescription by emailing me via rob@thespectaclefactory.com The typical price range is £400-£500
@@thespectaclefactory you've got the point, but still, when I am watching a video about a brand I hear first time, I need to put it into perspective. If a frame runs for 200 pounds that's one thing, if it's closer to a thousand, it's completely different. I personally never consider the price of my glasses as a whole. It's always price of a frame + lenses + work. I always buy a frame first, visit the doctor to make sure prescription is ok and only then I choose my lenses. Anyway, thanks for sharing!
Why is this brand not anywhere in the States? It'd be ok but if only there's a way to buy them. The Reykavik site doesn't even have pricing nor does it sell eyeglasses. There are even no videos of this brand and only you have them.
It's definitely quite a niche brand. Very exclusive. But we have clients all over the US. If you want us to ship out to you, email me via rob@thespectaclefactory.com
Love the video as I do all of your videos, you may be RUclips's number 1 style and vision consultant and have probably gained a future customer, even though I live in London...moving on, how do you feel Starck glasses compare to Reykjavik Eyes? Cheers.
Hey! That's so nice of you to say. Starck are great, but completely different, at least the models I have seen are. I'm a fan of Phillipe Starck, used to have a couple of his watches but gave them away. And his glasses are top, top quality. Shame the brand is Luxottica owned (I have a problem with their ethics) but they are still independently manufactured so a totally different factory to Ray-Ban, Prada, Polo and the other junk. I think we would stock them if it weren't for the Luxottica thing. Reykjavik Eyes are much more minimalistic, comfortable + durable but arguably not as stylish, depending on your taste.
@@thespectaclefactory I can't think of another channel like yours I've found that offers consistently solid advice on wearing glasses and the latest styles. I had my eyes tested 3 weeks ago and I'll be in touch for sure regarding a new pair, as well as a Gucci frame I'd like reglazed. The Starck glasses I've seen look decent but it's the tech behind them that interests me as with the Reykjavik Eyes frames I've seen on your channel, nonetheless I totally understand where you're coming from regarding Luxottica and their questionable business practices. I'll spare you too many questions but may I ask what you think of ic! Berlin frames? I believe they're an independent brand and the screwless design and look of their frames appeals to me, but in the UK they seem hard to find. Thanks.
@@sunnymitra2 IC! Berlin, are great! They are a bit too close to the Undostrial and Reykjavik Eyes frames we stock, and we don't have room for everything, but I would have no problem recommending IC! Berlin. You should also take a look at Mykita
@@thespectaclefactory Thank you Robert for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate it. I've had a look at Mykita and also Etnia glasses online and they're very interesting independent brands. I've also bought some Morel Lightec rimless and some new '80s vintage Omega by Brulimar frames (also rimless) this week (I spend far too much time shopping online, for my sins...) which I'd love you to take a look at and have seen some beta titanium screwless frames from 3 (Italian or German?) brands called Try, T3 and Link but haven't yet pulled the trigger on any of those! I will be in touch and a trip to Preston in the near future is definitely on the cards.
Thanks Robert. They’re really opulent to die for but I’d skip most from this collection due to high prescription. Please consider a little more frames for also those with high prescription in videos. Thanks.
We sell both and there is an enormous difference. Japanese strip titanium is vastly superior in most respects. Memory metal is good for a couple of years then tends too fail. High grade titanium like this can last 10 years if treated properly.
Your presentation on Reykjavik Eyes eyewear is fantastic. So good a presentation that I have come to the conclusion that the company you work for makes some of the highest quality eyewear ever made. The problem I am having is finding a way to purchase your product. I cannot for the life of me find an optometrist or a eyeglass store that will sell me a pair of prescription glass eyewear anywhere in the USA or Canada. I want to purchase your product and need to know how I can do it without traveling to Iceland or Europe. Please tell me there is an optometrist somewhere in the USA or Canada that can do my prescription and be able to fit me in a pair of your glasses.
You're welcome. Like many of the best things, they are quite niche and most opticians aren't aware of these frames. However we do supply them all over the world. If you need any help or advice just email me via rob@thespectaclefactory.com
Thank you for the amazing video. I wear Silhouette glasses made in Austria, they are bendable and light and comfortable, after seeing your video, I am sold on the Reykjavik frames, I live in Canada, how do I get one?
I love these glasses I’ve just been trying some of these frames on today to try get an idea of what suits me. How do they look with Photofusion X lenses? Do you have to be careful about which of this brand frames you pic for ladies ? Or would they all be ok ? I’m going to have a huge list of questions to ask you. It’s hard to choose frames that look good as glasses inside and then Photofusion outside 😬😫. I’m going to be a nightmare customer 🤣😂
I'm in ND, USA and I'm interested in getting the a few pair of them reykjavik glasses for me. Including the gold edition. Could u tell me how to purchase them.
You say they have something for everybody... But one vital point you don't mention... is the price.... Expensive ? Yes... Give some prices 😅😅.... Something for everybody 🤔🤔
Can you bend titanium nose pads without them springing back? My glasses are loose and I cant reshape the nose pads closer as they are made from titanium. Now what?
It's complicated. In my experience, most people want to fold them. Did you know that the ORIGINAL Reykjavik Eyes were *all* one-piece?! We're now on the 4th iteration of RE design which means the 'new' one piece is actually an homage to the past.
I love Reykjavik. I live around D.C. and have trouble finding them in any shops around me to try them on. I’ve only found them at a CVS (haha!) so far and they don’t have all the ones I want to try. However , last year I did get a bragi and skadi from them. I tried on a Karl today with what seemed like a thick acetate front which was very bold , and a fulla and sunna, both of which I loved , but they only had single color ways for all three. I wish I could find them around here, or somewhere online where they’d ship to me , even without lenses and I’d find some place to do that afterward if possible. :(

Such a great overview!
I like how you’ve labelled each frame in this video - makes it very easy to navigate the collection!

Eloquent presentation, always a joy watching you. The Viktor is certainly cool futuristic looking, I love it. The krafla gold is my personal favorite.
