In this video, Ray Comfort responds to criticism he’s received from Catholics. He addresses infant baptism, baptismal regeneration, the myth of Jesus starting the Catholic Church, and more. He then shares footage of him sharing the biblical gospel-salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus alone-with Catholics.

I was a Catholic for a long time, but did not understand why Jesus had to die for our sins. Long story short but I left the Catholic Church and began reading the Bible on my own, and started to attending a new church, one that was biblically true. I got baptized in October this year and my relationship with Jesus has improved greatly since leaving Catholicism. Religion will not save anyone. Only Jesus can.

Awesome, I am former but now Born Again. It’s scary how the typical Catholic knows so little about God’s Word of the Bible. And the clergy will typically give women the New Testament only if they need a Bible. I thought the Old was independent of the New until I started reading it smh THEY ARE ONE The Old is full of prophecy about Jesus the Messiah. For their church to dismiss it for the most part is negligence.

@@Nicky-hr1qz I think your disagreement is based on the meaning of the word "keep". When you say that we can't "keep" the law, you don't mean that we can never do anything that the law demands, especially with the help of the Holy Spirit. And he is only saying that the law of God is to be kept; it is our responsibility, alrhough we often stumble at it. So you both seem to believe the same things about it, only looking at it from two points of view. To you, "keep" seems to mean doing the law perfectly. To him, it is basically the obligation we have toward what God says is right, and what He says is wrong, and that we are to keep His commandments about them as best we can, but that sometimes we'll stumble. I don't think you're far apart in what you believe at all. If anything, you seem to be somewhat at odds about how hard it is to "keep" it, even imperfectly.

I was born in a Muslim family. As an adult, I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I am so thankful to Jesus for coming and rescuing a lost sheep like me. Other lost sheep who come from various backgrounds like the Catholic denomination are also grateful to Jesus for revealing himself to them and telling them the truth about himself.
Coming from where I come from, I can in no way fathom why people defend the Catholic denomination. Anyone who reads the Bible and compares it with what the Catholic denomination stands for can easily see that this denomination doesn't follow what Jesus says in the Bible. Yet they are shameless and come to twist the word of God in the comments section in RUclips.
Surveys have shown in US most people who were born in the Catholic denomination later as adults either become atheists or turn to Evangelical churches. Not even 50% attend Catholic churches for congregation on Sundays. This shows really what this denomination is about.

I came to faith in Christ because of my circumstances. I am a female and I was not treated well by my family. Apparently women have only one purpose in Islam, and that is to be a baby-making machine. Produce the next generation of fighters. You'll see the results of this in what's happening in Gaza now. My sadness and despair over my life had led me to seek Jesus. In Christianity, I have freedom and purpose. I know I am loved by the true and living God. My family is not saved. On Ephesians 2:8-9:
By taking a closer look at the original Greek & expanding both Ephesians 2:5-11 & Colossians 2:11-13 you will see without any doubt then and I hope for you will clearly understand the context of both these parrell passages and that St. Paul in Ephesians 2:8-9 is talking about not faith alone but how one is first justified by regeneration in baptism [Titus 3:5]. Properly understanding Ephesians 2:8-9 is extremely important because so many have misused and misunderstood Ephesians 2:8-9 for so long its tragic. Ephesians 2:5-11-"...when we were "dead in trespasses" [νεκροὺς τοῖς παραπτώμασιν], [God] "made us alive" together with Christ [συνεζωοποίησεν]-by grace you have been saved-and "raised us up" with him [συνήγειρεν] and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus...For by grace you have been saved "through the faith" [διὰ τοῖς πίστεως]. And this is not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not from works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called 'the uncircumcision'; by what is called the circumcision in the flesh, made by hands..." Now compare the parrell passage in Colossians 2:11-13-"In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the flesh, in the circumcision of Christ, having been buried with him [in baptism], in which you are also raised with him "through the faith" [διὰ τοῖς πίστεως] in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead. And you, "being dead in trespasses" [νεκροὺς ὄντας τοῖς παραπτώμασιν] and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God "made you alive" with him [συνεζωοποίησεν], having forgiven us all our trespasses". Both Ephesians 2:5-"..when we were dead in trespasses" [vεκροὺς τοῖς παραπτώμασιν], & Colossians 2:13-"And you, being dead in trespasses" [νεκροὺς ὄντας τοῖς παραπτώμασιν] refers to when we were dead in trespasses and both use the same greek words. Both Ephesians 2:5-"..[God] made us alive together with Christ [συνεζωοποίησεν], and Colossians 2:13-"...God made you alive together with him [συνεζωοποίησεν] as you can see uses the exact same verb for being "made alive"in Christ.
Both Ephesians 2:6-"...raised us up with him" [συνήγειρεν], and Colossians 2:12-"in baptism, in which you were also raised with him" [συνήγειρεν] uses the exact same verb how in regeneration God raises us up with him and thats through baptism I've proven. Both Ephesians 2:8-"For by grace you have been saved through the faith" [διὰ τοῖς πίστεως], and Colossians 2:12-"in baptism, in which you were raised with him through the faith [[διὰ τοῖς πίστεως] uses the exact same verb for "through the faith" and what "through the faith" in Ephesians 2:8 means is shown in Colossians 2:12 that the means or instrument used to be raised with Christ "through the faith" is baptism. Galatians 3:26-27-"For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God through the faith [διὰ τοῖς πίστεως]. For as many of you as were [baptized into Christ] have put on Christ." As you can you see too that Galations 3:26-27 uses the same [[διὰ τοῖς πίστεως] meaning "through the faith" and its clearly referring to being baptized. Ephesians 2:11-"...the circumcision in the flesh, made by hands...", applying that there is a circumcision in the hearts not made by hands well what do you know in Colossians 2:11 it describes that in regeneration and justification as when "[you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands], in putting off the body of the flesh, in the circumcision of Christ"..., and it teaches that this happens in baptism. Such clear parrells there is no doubt at at all what St. Paul is referring too nothing other than regeneration and justification in baptism in these passages . Baptism is how God pours out his grace in regeneration and justification on the newly converted "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless one is [born of water and the Spirit], he cannot enter into the kingdom of God".-John 3:5, "And Peter said to them: Repent and [be baptized] every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ [for the remission of sins]..."-Acts 2:38,"...arise, and [be baptized], and [wash away thy sins]..."-Acts 22:16
"...having [been buried with him] [in baptism], in which you were also raised with him through the faith"-Colossians 2:12, "Know ye not, that so many of as [were baptized] into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore [we are buried with him by baptism] into death..."-Romans 6:3-4,
"For as many of you as have been [baptized in Christ], [have put on Christ]..."-Galatians 3:27, "For by one Spirit are [we all baptized into one body], whether Jews or Gentiles, whether we bond or free..."-1 Corinthians 12:13,...when they waited for the patience of God in the days of Noah, when the ark was a building: wherein a few, that is, eight souls [were saved by water]. Whereunto[ὅ-meaning which and is a relative pronoun clearly referring to the flood waters and the baptismal waters next] [baptism] being of [the like form], now saveth you also.."
This proves that baptism saves and is the instrumental cause of justification and regeneration and it is through the water of baptism one is regenerated and how one enters the faith of Christ Jesus as all the passages above teach.
Mark 16:16-"He that beliveth [and is baptized] shall be saved: but he that believeth not shall be damned",
If you can refute this, I mean you can try. You will certainly fail because you can't refute it. This completely devastates your whole heretical position. The Bible does not agree with you. You need to repent. In charity.

In charity.

I have already had too many signs from Christ that the Catholic Church is the truth. Protestantism came from a man that believed he could interpret the gospel better than the early church fathers and all other Christians for over 15 centuries. His path to discovering this protestant "truth" was guided by his feelings. He didn't FEEL that God could ask so much of mankind, he didn't FEEL anything when he "lived" the Catholic truth, so he decided it must be wrong. There couldn't be a more anti-gospel message than that. Love doesn't consist of feelings... the gospel itself says: "love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have? Do not the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brothers only, what is unusual about that? Do not the pagans do the same? So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect." True love consists of loving people when you don't FEEL like loving them. How could Luther say that the Catholic Church asked too much of him and that faith alone was all that was needed when God asked for us to be PERFECT!?

@@santiagovela6364so how are you doing with being perfect? Yes we are told to be perfect yet none of us are able to do so. We are also told to love God with all your heart soul strength and mind.. how are you making out with that? No one is able to observe these commandments perfectly, that is why we need Christ. You can't live a perfect life, remember what the Bible says,.. if we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. This is why we must turn to Christ in faith in Him. In the perfect sinless live that He lived, in His sacrifice upon the cross and His resurrection. It's not our righteousness that brings about salvation it's the perfect righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ. We can't do anything to even begin to come close to this righteousness, we fail constantly, every day. When you're truly trusting in Christ you're trusting in what Christ has accomplished in His finished work. It's bringing yourself to rest in your own attempts to reach God trough your own works of righteousness and trusting that God will reach you in His.
And your comment about loving others, the Bible speaks to us about that.
Loving others is found in obedience to God...
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭13:8‭-‬10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
[8] Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. [9] For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” [10] Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
You see when we live our lives the way God would have us live it we are expressing love for people all around us even if there complete strangers. When we observe the 10 commandments we are loving others as you can see in the passage above. Hope this helps. :)

I believe from my own amazing testimony, and I was raised Catholic as well. I believe that God already saved us before we knew we would be saved. It says int the Bible that He chose us and called us before the foundation of the world. I will look that up to see how it's written. I too need to get back into reading and studying because it's easy to forget much of what we learned But what I'm saying is God already knows who loves Him and who just wants His eternal rewards

I sat in my living room crying out to Jesus, asked Him to forgive me, confessed everything to Him, asked Him to take over my life and I felt His presence so strongly wash over me, the next day it was like I was a new person, my mind was clean, couldn't swear, hated things I used to love and loved everything that was about honouring God, I asked God if I needed a real bible, He made it happen 3 weeks later, an aunt sent me one without even asking, I asked if He could help me with learning how to read it and anther month later some family in anther country sent me so many Bible study guides, again without asking, I asked if I needed to be Baptised, the next week the pastor of a church i just started going to called me and asked if I wanted to be baptised. I had an active and living relationship with God through the Holy Spirit months before I was baptised.

I really enjoy this Brothers ministry. I've been saved with my wife and kids going on 7 years. And I enjoyed the videos posted but today I watched in tears as the holy Spirit convicted me. We as Christians have the wonderful pleasure of knowing the gospel and what Jesus did for us and saving us from our sins. Yet I can't help but think how many times have I reached out to a lost soul and shared Jesus with them and the hope of his salvation. We are all called to do exactly what this brother is doing. When was the last time we shared Jesus with someone. We spend so much time praying for the salvation for our friends and family members , but we can do more than just pray we can share the gospel and our testimony. Time is getting short and we must hurry. God bless my brother for your ministry and God bless my family in Christ.

      YOU'RE NOT SAVED!
      About the misunderstood Ephesians 2:8-9:
In charity.

A couple of things: Catholics never pray "to the statues." That would be sinful idolatry. Catholics pray for the intercession of whomever the statue represents. And the sacrifice of the Mass is one huge prayer itself to Jesus (underneath the crucifix) which culminates in the only true Christian worship, the Eucharist.

"For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.” John 6:40
Not sacrament, no gatekeeping by a priest, or pope. No Mary, or intercession of saint. Believe on Jesus Christ, He is the way, the truth and the life.

I left the church in search of the Truth. it wasn't until I sat down and read the Bible (as my priests had been imploring me to do for years) that I came to the realization that the truth was right in front of me all along. I beelined it right back yo the Catholic church. Everything preached and every doctrine of the Catholic church is supported by scripture. The catholic Church was started by Jesus, Mathew 16:18 "And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it". That alone should be enough for all of us to accept the Catholic Church.

The reasons the catholic church is NOT the beginning of CHRISTIANITY :
-Rome killed and burned thousands upon thousands of the followers of THE WAY... why would they do that if they started Christianity?
      Look it up research it.
-the FIRST CHRISTIANS WERE JEWS... JESUS WENT TO ALL THE JEWS FIRST..
-Acts 11:26 - And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
      -Matthew 23:9
9 And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.
The pope IS NOT THE HOLY FATHER THAT IS BLASPHEMY AGAINST GOD
      - JESUS HAD BROTHERS AND SISTERS. MARY AND JOSEPH HAD OTHER CHILDREN
      Mark 6:3
3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
-the hail mary is how they spoke in those days. It was never meant to be a prayer.
      -Luke 1:41-44
-Matthew 21:13 New King James Version (NKJV) And He said to them, “It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a 'den of thieves. '
EVERYTHING about the catholic church involves money.. you have to pay for everything..
There are so many things wrong about the catholic church.. I am not trying to be be nasty or mean.. I was there once myself.. please ask God to open your eyes and read the bible..

ALL of the apostles started churches. The Catholic Church was Constantine’s mechanism for war, that was the only reason it had legs, it was law. The gluttonous riches that is the Catholic Church is plenty of evidence that they don’t practice what Christ and His humbleness lays down. There is ZERO reason ANY church needs a $100B untouchable fund on Wall St and hundreds of billions of $ in other assets. That is not a church of Christ, that is a financial institution built for power of man.

For goodness sake, the rosary is an idol. You can also find pictures of popes kissing the feet of "Mary" statues. This is the perfect picture of idolatry.
Cardinal John Henry Newman, considered to be the greatest Roman Catholic theologian thinker in Great Britain, in his treatise called, "The Development of the Christian Doctrine" said, "At least 70% of the rights rituals, customs and traditions of Roman Catholicism are pagan in origin. Read the gospels and see how Jesus dealt with the Pharisees religious ceremonies and rituals. Short answer, he abhored them. He even told the Pharisees that the were like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but on the inside are full of dead men's bones (Matthew 23;27). Catholicism looks beautiful on the outside, but on the inside is full of dead bones.
You need your dead soul raised to life through the new birth. This is why Jesus told one of the most religious persons to ever live (Nicodemus) that unless he was born again (born from above) he wasn't going to see the kingdom of God (John 3:3). Seek the gospel that is able to give you life.

Then I praise God for His mercy and grace- 2 years after my Catholic confirmation,
a God-sent Christian witnessed to me and I became a born again. Baptised at 20 years old, not because of my parent’s desires, but my own decision to repent and follow Christ. (Babies cannot do that)

If I go out on the street and I bring someone to faith in Christ, but I don't tell them to study his Word and get baptized, I have only done him a partial service. In the same way, though Ray is right to tell people they are sinners in need of salvation, he has only partially helped them by not promoting sacrements outside of baptism. A) being born again is being baptized, if you actually look at the whole scripture verse instead of taking a tiny fragment of it, like most baptists do... then you will realize that Jesus is talking about Baptism. When we are baptized as infants we become children of God, our parents consent for us that we will believe and follow Jesus, with the the mark of God is placed on our hearts and our souls and we are born again into Gods kingdom. Not only that but all the original sin is washed away in baptism through Christ.
    B) When it comes to the ten commandments, catholics agree, the Ten Commandments must be held. God has always given us a choice to be with him or not, we must have free will, predestination is a huge heresy. The great thing is that Jesus will forgive us of our sins if we confess them and repent. Not only this, but he gave us structure and order by granting authority to his apostles to forgive sins, which was passed down to priests. This gives us confirmation that if we fall and lose sight of Jesus, that we know that we are on the right track again. Priests are acting "in persona christi" or in the place of Christ while in confession, and we believe that Jesus is working through them to give us physical confirmation of His forgiveness. Alongside this, these sins are completely forgotten by Jesus when you are absolved, and therefore to Him, it is as if you never committed them, of course there needs to be true repentance, but that is up to Jesus and the priest. Jesus says to his apostles "Very truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven".
    C) This is not false doctrine, read what the early church fathers believed, read what the saints believed. There is no way that the spirit filled apostles taught their disciples wrong right? There is no way that the church that "the gates of hell will never prevail against" was in the wrong for 1500 years right? All of these doctrines which you in the Living Waters and detesting to were practiced for 1500 years. Are you telling me that all of those people throughout all that time were all sent to hell? It doesn't make sense. There is ONE true church, which has a lineage that goes back to Jesus and Saint Peter.
Ray Comfort, I recommend you have a discussion with a Catholic priest, don't assume you know anything about the Catholic Church, the universal church of Jesus Christ.
I pray often and was led to the Catholic Church by Christ himself, every week during mass and adoration, I feel Christs true physical presence and I know that it is real.
I am currently on my way to converting to Catholicism, as a former Presbyterian who at a time believed everything that Ray Comfort is saying, I strongly recommend you all look into what is being pushed back on so much.
Catholicism is the way, through Christ.
Best Wishes and prayers that you all find the Way. 🙏

Look at the roman catholic church in Rome Saint Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City and ask yourself why they have a giant obelisk in Vatican city?
Obelisks, to ancient Egyptians, first appeared in Old Kingdom Egypt. These commemorative structures were believed by the people who made them to attract the reviving rays of the sun, thereby allowing the resurrection of the deceased.
Why would an ancient Egyptian idol to sun gods appear in the catholic church ?
The monolithic obelisk was invented by the kings of the fifth dynasty (2465-2323 BCE) in reverence to the sun god, Re.
      Among countless other sun gods.
Why would God support a church that supports idol worship?
Many Catholics may be sincere in their seeking of God, as you seem to be , but it is dangerous to do so in a church that glorifies the sun and not the Son Of God.
You'll find all over the catholic church sun idols all throughout their symbology.
I was a former Catholic and have since come to knowledge after 30 years of struggle. You should research this as the catholic church is loaded with "sun" imagery all over it's churches.
The great statue of Jupiter, which has been modified, re-titled, and seated on a throne in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, as St. Peter.
Go google pictures of St. Peter's statue at the Vatican, the one where is sitting down , what is on his head?
      A sun symbol.
      Do not be deceived.
You should study all the symbology of the catholic church. It is so loaded with pagan worship , sun worship , mary worship , rosary worship, mother and infant worship, the list goes on and on.
The Obelisk should be a MAJOR spiritual warning to you , you should pray about it.
God is not to be mocked with sun worship.

@@TheAgentAssassin I’m going to do my best to explain this to you because many Protestants get this wrong. Idolatry is genuinely and truly believing that an object is a deity, or a god, and then worshipping that item.
Idolatry would be if you had a statue of Jesus and truly believed that the statue was actually Jesus and worshiping the statue rather than Jesus.
What the Catholic Church does is worship WITH items, such as the rosary. See the difference there? We aren’t actually worshipping the items, just using them. Or, in some cases, there are symbolic things that are there to remind us of events or things that happened. Or there are simply beautiful buildings or structures that are made to please God, such as the obelisk you mentioned.
Catholics DO NOT worship Mary. I don’t know how many times we have to say it, but we honor her, NOT worship. “Hail Mary full of grace the lord is with thee, blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus” comes from the angel Gabriel in Luke. If you look in the Old Testament, I forget where, you can see how the kings of Israel were formed and what structure of leadership they had, typically there was the King, a Queen, and a prince/ son. The Queen had no power, however she could always ask the king for favors, or intercede for people. This is no coincidence, as God was showing us how his heavenly kingdom works, with the blessed Virgin Mary interceding for us. Of course we pray directly to Jesus, but she is also a powerful ally, especially in this world of spiritual warfare.
We believe in one God the Father almighty, Jesus Christ his son, and the Holy Spirit. God is the central point of the Catholic Church.
Also the Catholic Church was always oppressed by Pagans throughout their time so how would they be Pagan. We wiped out the Pagans in Rome?
Also the “sun worship” is from revelation, “the woman cloaked in the sun” (Mary btw) with 12 stars on her head (the apostles) will stomp the head of the Serpent (the devil) through her son (Jesus).
Anyways hope this reaches you well. And I hope you do some research!

Does Ray Comfort believe that you can't lose your salvation? Then, why does he try to convert Catholics? If Catholics believe that Jesus died for their sins (assuming they didn't get baptized as an infant), why does he feel the need to save them again? If all it takes is to believe Jesus died for our sins, why would a Catholic need saving if that Catholic believes that?

The big question is whether any individual (Catholic or otherwise) is truly trusting in Jesus' atonement as fully efficacious and fully complete for the remission of his sins. Or whether the individual is placing his trust in his denomination, his priests, his good works, or anything else. If we are justified before God by His grace, through faith in Jesus Christ (Eph. 2, Gal. 3) then we cannot be further justified; if God has accounted His perfect, spotless righteousness to us through faith (see Romans 4), then we cannot make ourselves any more righteous in God's eyes by our deeds, our reception of sacraments, etc. Instead of trying to merit saving grace (which places us back under the law and begs for judgment by that standard), we are supposed to let God have His way with us as God the Holy Spirit (who indwells each believer) works in us and through us to produce good fruits (John 15).
When I was raised Roman Catholic, I was taught that faith in Jesus' death and resurrection was only the *beginning point* of a process whereby I would have to justify myself before God by penances, good works, receiving Communion often, and (eventually) suffering untold agonies in Purgatory for perhaps centuries or millennia, to become infused with righteousness (justification). Now I know from Scripture that faith in Jesus' blood, shed for the remission of my sins, is the single and only thing which God looks for to bestow the gift of His saving grace upon a person. I know that I am 100% forgiven, because Jesus paid my debt of sin in full. I know that if I were to die tonight I would find myself in the Presence of my Lord, Jesus. This is true peace with God!
Eph 1:13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, *were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,*
Eph 1:14 who is *the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it,* to the praise of his glory.
Rom 8:16 *The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,*
Rom 8:17 and if children, then heirs-heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.

@@rexlion4510 You cannot keep on sinning ie. fornicating, stealing, murdering, etc. and expect to be saved. That's in the Bible too. The works that come from faith are from sanctifying grace, the holy spirit working through a person. It bears good fruit as it is said. Now, if you're living in grace, you'd want to do these works. Where it could go wrong is following these rules without the Spirit. These rules are just reminders of how to live in grace. By the way, alot of the letters of Paul were written to address the issue of Christians (who were by the way called Jews before they were known as Christians) getting circumcised, etc. to live according to God's laws (previous Jewish laws). Once, you know that, you'll understand the whole picture of the letters. The thing about believers outside of the Catholic Church is that I don't think they live out of this world like the religious orders of the Catholic Church, monks, nuns, etc. They are more prone to being worldly. Now, Catholic laity can be worldly too, but I'm saying that the religious orders give up this life for the next with Jesus. I don't see that much outside of the Catholic Church.
