Yep and it's amazing how the RCC gets away with IGNORING John chapter 3, 1 Peter 1:23, Titus 3:5 & 2 Corinthians 5:17 i.e the key passages about regeneration in the New Testament.
In 40 years as a lost RC, I didn't see these passages read at mass.
Because THEY NEVER ARE READ at mass!
The Bible passages the RC misses out are not ignored by coincidence.
"Born again" was something thought was "Protestant" 🤦🏻‍♀️
I had no idea Jesus says "you MUST be born again" in John 3.
And I had no idea that a child of God is defined in John 1:12-13 as someone "BORN OF GOD" i.e born anew (Matthew 18:3 is related too).
As an RC, you outsource your understanding to men in authority.
It's cult-like for that reason alone.

      Question:
I heard a radio preacher talk about the "biblical plan of salvation"--which, of course, he said the Catholic Church didn't obey. How does our Church understand the biblical plan of salvation?
      Answer:
The Church understands that we are all sinners in need of a savior (Rom 5:12-21). We are inheritors of original sin and all its consequences, and by actual sin we distance ourselves from God. We can’t save ourselves, but we don’t need to: Jesus Christ has paid the price for our sins. The Catholic Church teaches that salvation comes through Jesus alone (Acts 4:12), since he is the “one mediator between God and man” (1 Tm 2:5-6).
The saving grace won by Jesus is offered as a free gift to us, accessible through repentance, faith, and baptism. We turn away from our sins, we are sorry for them, and we believe in Jesus Christ and the gospel. Repentance shows our willingness to turn from things that keep us from God, and baptism renews us, filling us with the grace necessary to have faith and to live it. This belief is more than just “head knowledge.” Even the demons have that (Jas 2:19). It’s more than just believing you’re saved. Even the Pharisees had that (Jn 5:39). True, saving faith is one lived and exhibited daily: It is “faith working through love” (Gal 5:6, cf. Jas 2:1-26).
Sometimes the Church is accused of teaching “salvation by works,” but this is an empty accusation. This idea has been consistently condemned by the Church. Good works are required by God because he requires obedience to his commands (Mt 6:1-21, 1 Cor 3:8, 13-15) and promises to reward us with eternal life if we obey (Mt 25:34-40, Rom 2:6-7, Gal 6:6-10, Jas 1:12). But even our obedience is impossible without God’s grace; even our good works are God’s gift (Rom 5:5, Phil 2:13). This is the real biblical plan of salvation.

No, the pope never said that. That’s media spin pushing their agenda. The pope approved a document that said marriage is between one man and one woman, and if an individual asks for a spontaneous blessing (which is allowed regardless of whether or not the person is in a state of sin) you are only allowed to do that if it is absolutely clear that it’s not an endorsement of their sinful lifestyle, nor cause confusion or scandal. But go ahead and make up lies to justify yourself.

I remember going to my wife’s church and having an experience of deep grief and understanding for my sin and the free gift of God. Then my wife asked if I was baptized and I was deeply offended as I was catholic. 6 weeks later I was baptized and born again. But honestly I now see the error in my ways. Praise be to God. But as result my catholic family pushed me away, attacked me verbally and emotionally. But it was all worth it. Because what I gained was not comparable to what I lost.

Praise God. But, please realize that most regular Protestant Churches aren't "in the truth" either.
They teach license to sin with OSAS doctrine and still hold to the idea of Original Sin just like Catholics.
The truth is simply what is written in scripture. That is that we neither work for salvation nor have all sins paid for past, present and future at the moment of conversion. The truth is that a sacrifice for sin ONCE for all was provided but we must ABIDE in Christ (keep commandments - the law of Christ/Law of Liberty/Royal Law/Law of Love). If we don't do what Jesus says then we will die spiritually and the Father will cut us off the vine of Christ.
God is merciful and forgives and gives us all that we need for life in godliness but we must persevere in the faith as well...but not the silly works that Catholics do...but rather the good works such as simply loving neighbor as yourself.
Grace and Peace be with you in abundance in Christ

@uscgmom9796 - I so agree with you. I'm an ex-Catholic as well. My neighbor's nephew and my classmate led me to Christ in 1972 at the age of 14. After reading the entire Bible for myself and seeing how the Catholic Church's teachings contradicted God's word, I left Catholicism and never looked back. I was Catholic when the mass was still said in Latin. I grew up in a small town so Vatican II didn't take effect right away. I was never once taught anything resembling what the Bible teaches. As a child, I was taught the false doctrine of grace through the 7 sacraments. No where is this taught in the Bible.
I feel sorry for this man. His pride and false belief that belonging to a specific church gets him into heaven is hindering him from having a true relationship with Christ. I pray that he recognizes his need for a savior because without him, our good works are as filthy rags to a holy, sovereign God.

Pride and sexual immorality are Satan's two strongest weapons to deceive our consciousness and hearts. When we so desperately want our own deeds to be righteous we'll believe anything, even the most basic lies the Bible refutes, to justify ourselves. I pray this man has a revelation one day and breaks the chains of religious pride he's bandaged by. Religion doesn't make you righteous. Religion doesn't grant you salvation. Religion, many times due to corruption, doesn't even help you find God. Religion is simply a man-made practice, that, if Catholics actually read their Bibles, they'd find Jesus came to separate us from because He became flesh- personable, and asked us to follow Him.

I was born Catholic and was baptized as a baby. I left the church when I was 11 years old. 7 Years ago, when I was 55, I started to read the Bible. After 3 month's of reading the Bible I gave my life to Jesus. I didn't do that in a church, I did that at home. He changed my heart in one night. I got baptized 10 days later. I told my mother the other day and she reacted very disappointed. I did not expect that. Most Catholics are so much defending the Catholic church, they are so proud of that church. But in fact they are slaves. Catholics are still judging me that I am 'not good enough.' When I share my testimony and tell them about my old life and new life most of them still judge me for the mistakes I made in my old life. They just don't get it that God gave me a new heart and life. They are blinded and just to proud. Proud of the good deeds they do every day. My family just want to see 'the old me'. I can only pray and love them. God Bless from the Netherlands.

We’re in the Bible is bible alone

The Church should definitely put more emphasis on it so that the whole Christian world knows what the Catholic Church truly says and believes; sadly some Catholics don't even know this themselves. I hope that all Christians will one day be more accepting of their brothers and sisters in Christ from other denominations. I was raised culturally Catholic. I left the religion and stepped into evangelicalism. Realized it’s absurdity along with all the other 45k denominations. Sola Scriptura makes us all Popes and authors of our own scriptural interpretation. I regret saying this my friend, but protestants are in dangerous grounds. I initially left because what I had been taught was Protestant in belief. No one told me there were differences in denominations as a young boy. My catechism classes failed me. So when I realized the hypocrisy and lies of Christian evangelicals I had no reason to turn to the church, I thought it was all the same. Now that i am older, I stepped away from Satan and gnosticism. That is where my journey led me unfortunately. Now I’m back on the path with Christ our Lord. The more I struggle to disprove the doctrines of the Catholic Church, the more I realize how much it adheres to scripture. I’ve never cried during prayer or loved the Lord so much until I began my reversion. I pray that the Lord continues to guide me. I thank Jesus Christ for saving us all. God bless you. This is still a beautiful channel, may the Lord bless anyone who spreads the gospel so fearlessly.

@@PersonOfSand thank you for sharing your story. Glad to hear that you found your way back to the Church by actually learning about the Church and its history. I myself grew up Dutch Reformed in the Dutch Bible Belt, which is known to be predominantly Calvinist. Catholicism has brought me closer to the Lord and has helped me tremendously in my day-to-day Christian life.
Like you said yourself, Sola Scriptura makes everybody their own Pope (oftentimes resulting into people taking scripture out of context, sometimes to their own advantage) and just the whole Sola thing in general makes people turn Christianity into their own thing to basically put themselves first. I'm not saying that that's what all Protestants do but it's something you do see a lot, especially outside of mainline Protestantism (some even heretical or leaning towards it). You oftentimes see people leave Catholicism, Orthodoxy and maybe even mainline Protestantism because they want things their way/are rebellious (e.g. music, the 'come as you are' mentality (strong emphasis on Sola's) & having the feeling of being the one who's in control), were lukewarm/lazy or just simply not properly educated.
In my case, deciding to become Catholic definitely wasn't an easy decision I made overnight or something that seemed obvious or even likely years ago; considering my background, the prejudices I once had and me rebelling against traditions and everything else that seemed "old & stupid" to me. God's word says our works are as filthy rags to a holy God, that we must be born again, only Christ can fully absolve sins, that we must believe and have faith in Christ and him alone and we cannot earn our way to heaven should anyone boast, while the Catholic Church teaches numerous contradictions to the Bible: one must observe most of the 7 sacraments (Infant Baptism, Confession, Holy Communion, Confirmation, Matrimony, Holy Orders, Extreme Unction) to earn grace and if one earns enough grace, it wipes out venial sins; there are two types of sin: venial (forgivable) and mortal (unforgivable); priests can absolve sins of parishioners through confession and "penance"; the priest has the power to turn the bread and wine into Christ's flesh and blood and there are many more, including the Pope is Infallible and successor of Peter and cannonizing "saints." The Bible teaches none of this. Sadly, Catholics are told to this day that theirs is the only true church and by observing church traditions and teachings, they can earn enough grace to go to heaven and if they don't, they will go to Purgatory for light punishment but don't worry, someone can pay/pray you out through indulgences. If anyone claims that practice to be false... my Dad died in 1986. One of my work colleagues took up a collection to buy masses to pray for my Dad to lessen his time in Purgatory. No where in Scripture are we instructed to pray for the dead. These reasons and more are why it is so difficult to reach Catholics. Two of my siblings are still Catholic even though one knows the truth and the other isn't observant. My husband and I have Catholic friends. They were shocked to learn that they can just talk to God. They don't have to say prayers written by others. Nor did they know that all true Christ followers are called saints. The Catholic Church has no power to canonize saints. If you look up some of those saints, their activities are dubious. We must pray for Catholics just as we pray for all lost people.

I was raised Catholic and did not take sin nor the Gospel seriously because my church membership and infant baptism were my "get out of jail free cards". I had never opened a Bible in the entire 24 years of my life. I did see the hypocrisy in my own life and in the lives of those around me in parochial school and with my family, but I mostly blew that off, too, blaming it on the human condition and an impossible standard (and that part I got right), but I did not understand the cross -- and 12 years of catechism and sermons at mass did not change that. It was only when I read the Bible for myself that my eyes were opened. I could not earn salvation. That and many other catholic teachings conflicted with clear Scripture. I was baptized at age 24 and have walked in gratitude for the cross and Christ for over 30 years. I'll always be thankful for the friend who first challenged me in love andcwith gentleness and respect. She's still my dearest friend today. ❤❤❤ Our adult son is even a Bible teacher who has a heart for the great commission. His life in Christ is so rich and full.

✝️✝️ How do we seek salvation according to scripture?
Ephesians 1:13 (KJV) In whom ye also [trusted], after that ye heard the word of truth, 1️⃣ the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that 2️⃣ ye believed, 3️⃣ ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.
1️⃣Hear the gospel of salvation 1 Cor 15:1-4.
2️⃣Believe the gospel of salvation 1 Cor 15:1-4.
3️⃣You are sealed by the Spirit when you fully believe and trust in the gospel for your salvation 1 Cor 15:1-4.
      Any questions?
If you need more verses read: Titus 3:5, Acts 16:30-31, Rom 1:16-17, Eph 2:8-9, Rom 10:11-13….
Faith in the work of Christ upon the cross supplies every spiritual need required to prepare you for eternity in Heaven!
You need righteousness? By faith, not works, you are made righteous (Rom 4:5-8).
You need justification? By faith, not works, you are justified forever (Rom 3:24-26).
Every spiritual blessing is supplied by Christ through simple child like faith in the gospel of the cross (Eph 1:3-14).
No works needed, just simple faith! Salvation is a gift! Jesus paid for this gift with His blood and He offers it to you by faith, not works!!
Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV) 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the 👉GIFT of God: 9 👉Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Note: the old covenant revealed man’s inability to keep God’s law and earn Salvation by works! In the New C Jesus provided perfect obedience for us through the Cross and He now freely imputes His perfect righteousness to anyone who seeks Him by FAITH in the gospel, not works (Gospel 1 Cor 15:1-4, works free righteousness: Rom 4:5-8, Phil 3:9, Rom 4:21-25, Rom 5:9-11, 2 Cor 5:21).

      The Counterfeit Mary of Catholicism
Just as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, many are being led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ by a counterfeit Mary (2 Cor. 11:3). The blasphemies that Roman Catholicism teaches about Mary are deplorable and need to be exposed. According to Rome it was Mary who made atonement for sin and will crush the head of the serpent. She was sinless and continues to bring us the gifts of salvation. The Catholic perversion of Mary was the cause of salvation for the whole human race and she will deliver souls from death because she is the mediatrix of all grace.
The Catholic Douay-Reims Bible states in Genesis 3:15 that the woman herself will win the victory over Satan. It reads, "I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed; "she" shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel." This is a deliberate attempt to deceive because the Hebrew text clearly reads "He" (referring to Jesus) will crush the serpent's head.
There are many more blasphemies in the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC). It teaches "Mary did not lay aside this saving office but by her manifold intercession continues to bring us the gifts of eternal salvation" (CCC, para. 969). "The Immaculate Virgin, preserved free from all stain of original sin, when the course of her earthly life was finished, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory, and exalted by the Lord as Queen over all things. In giving birth you kept your virginity. You conceived the living God and, by your prayers, will deliver our souls from death" (CCC, para. 966). She is to be praised with special devotion (CCC, para, 971). Mary, "by special grace of God, committed no sin of any kind during her whole earthly life" (CCC, para.411). She was the cause of salvation for herself and the whole human race (CCC, para. 494). The Catholic Church promises that all those who seek Mary's protection will be saved for all eternity. These doctrines have robbed God of His glory and have resulted in Catholics showing greater devotion to Mary than to the Lord Jesus Christ.
In the Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma, Dr. Ludwig Ott states, "In the power of the grace of Redemption merited by Christ, Mary, by her spiritual entering into the sacrifice of her Divine Son for men, made atonement for the sins of men, and ... merited the application of the redemptive grace of Christ. In this manner she co-operates in the subjective redemption of mankind" (page 213). Here the Catholic Church is claiming that Mary, not Jesus, made atonement for the sins of men! This is pure blasphemy!
In 1854, Pope Pius IX established the immaculate conception of Mary as an infallible dogma, which states Mary was preserved from inheriting original sin. The dogma encourages Catholics: "to venerate, invoke and pray to the most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, conceived without original sin. And since she has been appointed by God to be the Queen of heaven and earth, and is exalted above all the choirs of angels and saints, and even stands at the right hand of her only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, she presents our petitions in a most efficacious manner. What she asks, she obtains. Her pleas can never be unheard."
This heretical dogma has established Mary as a co-redeemer with Christ and co-mediator with Him in heaven, which makes her an another way to approach God. She replaces the Holy Spirit in bestowing aid and comfort to believers. In effect, she becomes an additional member of the Trinity. Mary is no more the mother of God than Joseph is the father of Jesus. Scripture has very little to say about Mary. When she appears with the other believers on the day of Pentecost, she's not an object of worship or even a leader in the early church. There are no occasions of anyone ever praying to her, honoring her, or venerating her. She is never mentioned in any presentation of the Gospel. Jesus Christ alone is our Redeemer, Deliverer, Mediator and Advocate. He alone is to be worshiped, adored, honored and praised now and throughout all eternity! May Catholics comes to their senses through repentance and faith in the only sinless Mediator!

Catholics are Christians the first ones The Bible directly links baptism to salvation:
Mark 16:16 “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”
John 3:5 “Jesus answered, ‘I tell you the truth, unless a man is born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.’” (cf. 3:3: “unless a man is born again …”)
Acts 2:38-41 “And Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children and to all that are far off, every one whom the Lord our God calls to him.’ And he testified with many other words and exhorted them, saying, ‘Save yourselves from this crooked generation.’ So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.” (cf. 9:17-18; 1 Corinthians 12:13: both associate the Holy Spirit with baptism)
Acts 22:16 “And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on his name.” (cf. 9:17-18)
Romans 6:3-4 “Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
1 Corinthians 6:11 “And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.”
Titus 3:5 “He saved us, not because of deeds done by us in righteousness, but in virtue of his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal in the Holy Spirit…”
      1 Peter 3:21 “Baptism … now saves you …”
In Acts 2:38-41 alone we learn that baptism brings: (1) “forgiveness of sins;” (2) the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, which no unregenerate person could possess; (3) salvation (“save yourselves”); and (4) inclusion in the rank of saved “souls” (cf. Galatians 3:27).
Romans 6:3-4 incorporates the blood and redeeming death of Jesus into baptism by referring to his “death.” So also does the larger passage of 1 Peter 3:14-22; 4:1.

If anybody wants the truth about the Catholic Church watch Trent Horn , or Father Mike Schmitz , or Bishop Barron , X Catholics are the most uneducated about Catholics because of being poorly taught for 35 years after Vatican 2 there was miscommunication after Vatican 2 , how do I know this , I use to be one of them I was a part of the poorly Catholic educated we were not taught about the faith or the Bible in class it was read at Mass but kids are not going to take the time to learn that , but then as a adult I took the time to read the Bible and the catechism hand and hand and realize they match up with no errors , As Trent Horn would say a X Catholic does not understand Catholic language, Baptisms and Confirmation is when Catholics are born into Christ and confirm to follow Jesus, Catholics are saved grace by the Blood of Jesus on the cross , he paid for our sins , NO we’re in the catechism does it say Catholics are saved by works. , X Catholics only had bad teachings one day a week even Catholic schools were bad , if someone wants Catholic truth they need to listen to Trent Horn or Bishop Barron or Father Mike , today Catholics have Bible studies and better education , I’m not here to have people switch churches but i will state inaccurate Catholic statements (like we’re not Christians) we are., I’m saved by Jesus blood on the cross and communion is Holy and sacred because of this verse -John 6:54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. , Catholics follow the Nicene Creed - Baptism
John 3:5 - “Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Ghost, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
Matthew 28:19 - “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”
      Confirmation
Luke 24:49 - “But stay you in the city of Jerusalem till you be endued with power from on high.”
      The Eucharist
John 6:54 - “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink His blood, you shall not have life in you.”
      Sacrament of Penance [Confession]
Psalm 41:4 - “Heal, O Lord, my soul, for I have sinned against Thee.”
John 20:22-23 - “And with that he breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.’”
Anointing of the Sick [Extrem Unction]
James 5:14-15 - “Is any man sick among you? Let him bring in the priests of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick man, and the Lord shall raise him up, and if he be in sins, they shall be forgiven him.”
      Matrimony
Matthew 19:4-6 - “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
      Holy Orders
Matthew 10:1 - Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.
John 20:22-23 - “And with that he breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.’”

If you were brave enough to actually read the Bible for yourself from beginning to end you would realize just how ungodly the Popes and the Catholic church are. The Popes gave us the inquisition, they had the French Huguenots slaughtered by the thousands, they made themselves rich by the false doctrine of Indulgences which of course the Catholic church conveniently denies now. My parents were shamed into sending me for Catholic catechism instruction. We were in public school and went twice a week to the church. My Dad was a lapsed Catholic and my mother wasn't anything.
So, nervously, I went to catechism class after school. A small class, all at about the same age, eleven. I received a little prayer book but can't remember anything we talked about. Went home, threw the book on the desk and went about my business of playing. Two days later I went back for the second class. Shortly after we started the nun teacher had me stand and asked me to say a "Hail Mary." Having no idea what she was talking about I said so. Just like that, in a flash I got smacked hard across the face and nastily scolded. I was shocked. I cried and sat down. Later as we broke up, the nun used that experience to remind everyone to come prepared the next time. When I left that day, coming back to that class was the last thing I intended to do. I said nothing to anyone.
The following week I left for class but instead went and hid in the large garbage area of the local A&P. I did this for about two weeks when my mother decided to send my younger brother with me to class. Stupidly, I went to hide as usual and my brother became alarmed and scared. He didn't understand what was happening. He started crying because I wanted him to go to the class without me. Finally, I just sent him home with his tear smeared face. With childish reasoning I stayed in the dump until the time was up and then went home to face the music.
Of course my mother was waiting for me to explain what's going on. I told her the story above. Fearing retribution, I was thrilled when my mother pitied me, told me to forget that class. I no longer was compelled to go. I was one very relived, happy 11 year old. For years afterward, when I saw a nun's habit I would become terrified. I went to the other side of the street and/or hid behind a parked car whenever those doubled-up nuns would walk down the street. I was certain they would "get me!"
At age 21 I humbled myself and opened my heart to Jesus. I was transformed in a split second and knew it although I realize not everyone has this kind of new birth conversion.
My wife, interestingly enough, went twelve grades through parochial school, taught by nuns who regarded the Bible as a book of stories. She said they never used the Bible in school, even in "religion" class. She related to me while we dated that she was an atheist because when the nuns dissed the Bible to her in high school she was so confused it seemed the only path that then made sense.
The first time she heard the gospel was from me at age 27. One evening, on a trip, I sat down with her to talk about the Lord because I saw only trouble marrying her w/o her being a Christian. I told her I needed to talk to her about another relationship in my life...and I told her about Jesus being my Savior. She was so ready that I had to slow everything down, and confirm that she understood. That she wasn't responding just out of love for me. She accepted Jesus into her heart that night.
We've been very happily married 43 years. We talk of the experiences above often, thanking our Lord for his gracious guidance and care. Many other little stories were involved that equally give glory to a loving God who wants the best for us in this life, as well as all eternity, with His Son. That life we're still experiencing far above what we are able to grasp.
    Even so come, Lord Jesus.

I was raised by catholic parents in the catholic ways, but when I actually started reading the bible for MYSELF, I found A LOT of things that made me question the catholic religion. This verse was a clincher for me
    1 Timothy 2:5 says:
"For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time..."
With this I had to ask why should I confess my sins to a priest when I can go straight to the ONLY MEDIATOR between us and God. I also intentionally say priest, not "father" because Matt 23:9 says "9Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.
I had a lot of questions when I tried to go through catechism, and they basically instructed me to shut up and color. Wrong answer... I walked away from the catholic church because they couldn't answer my legitimate questions to help me understand why their ways are contrary to the bible.
I could go on and on with questions they couldn't answer, but there's no point here. Let me clarify that I don't hate Catholics, I actually pray for God to open their eyes to HIS truth. I am now a Non denominational Christian and believe only what the bible says, not religious dogma and rituals that man has added to the bible.

Report: Nearly 2,000 children abused by more than 450 Catholic leaders in Illinois
      May 23, 2034

      USA TODAY NETWORK
      $3 billion
The average settlement in recent sexual abuse cases against the Catholic Church is around $300,000 - $400,000. To date, Catholic dioceses in the U.S. have paid over 👉👉 $3 billion in compensation to sexual abuse victims.
here’s another of the thousands: The John Jay report indicated that some 11,000 allegations had been made against 4,392 priests in the USA.
A report finds French clergy sexually abused over 300,000 children since 1950.
Staggering. This is based on a very small sample size. Can you imagine the numbers if we could look at every abuse case?
In conclusion we see the fruit of such an abominable religion - Titus 1:16 (KJV) They profess that they know God; but in works they deny [him], being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

@@kristenb5177 before I will answer to that question, let me first share this with you is to where the Catholic stands for, now it’s all up to you or anybody to challenge it, Catholic and Protestant agreed that to be saved, you have to be born again, Jesus said so, “truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of god” ( John 3:3 ) when a the Catholic says that he has been “born again,” he refers to the transformation that God’s grace accomplished in him during baptism, evangelical Protestant typically something quite different when they talk about being “born again,” for an evangelical, becoming “born again” often happens like this, he goes to crusade or revival where a minister delivers a sermon telling him of his need to be “born again” if you believe in the lord Jesus Christ and believe he died for you sins, you’ll be born again !” says the preacher, so the gentleman makes “a decision for Christ” and at the altar call goes forward to be led in “the sinners prayer” by the minister, then the minister tells all who prayed the sinner’s prayer that they have been saved-“born again,” but is the minister right? not according to the Bible, regeneration (being “born again”) is the transformation from death to life that occurs in our souls when we first come to god and are justified, he washes us clean of our sins and gives us a new nature, breaking the power of sin over us so that we will no longer be its slave, but its enemies, who must fight it as part of the Christian life ( rom.6:1-22, Eph.6:11-17 ), to understand the biblical teaching of being born again, we must understand the terms it uses to refer to this event, the term “born again” may not appear in the Bible, the Greek phrase often translated “born again” ( gennatha anothen ) occurs twice in the Bible-John 3:3,and 3:7-and there is question of how it should be translated, the Greek word anothen sometimes can be translated “again,” but in the New Testament, it most often means “from above,” in the King James Version, the only two times it is translated “again” are in John 3:3 and 3:7, every other time it is given a different rendering, another term is “regeneration,” when referring to something that occurs in the life of an individual believer, it only appears in Titus 3:5, in other passages, the new birth phenomenon is also described as receiving new life ( rom.6:4 ), the circumcision of the heart ( rom.2:29, Col.2:11-12 ), and becoming a “new creation”( 2 cor.5:17, gal.6:15 ), these different ways talking about being “born again” describe effects of baptism, which Christ speaks of in John 3:5 as being “born of water and the spirit,” in Greek, this phrase is, literally, “born of water and spirit” rather than “born of water and of the spirit,” as though it meant two different births-one birth of water and one birth of the spirit, in the water-and-spirit rebirth that takes place at baptism, the repentant sinner is transformed from a state of sin to the state of grace, Peter mentioned this transformation from sin to grace when he exhorted people to “be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” ( Acts.2:38 ), the context of Jesus’ statements in John 3 makes it clear that he has referring to water baptism, shortly before Jesus teaches nicodemus about the necessity and regenerating effect of baptism, he himself was baptized by John the Baptist, and the circumstances are striking, Jesus goes down into the water, and as he baptized, the heavens open, the Holy Spirit descends upon him in the form of a dove, and the voice of god The father speaks from heaven, saying, “this is my beloved son” ( Matt.3:13-17, mark 1:9-11, Luke 3:21-22, John 1:30-34 ), this scene gives us graphic depiction of what happens at baptism, we are baptized with water, symbolizing our dying with Christ ( rom.6:3) and our rising with Christ to the newness of life ( rom.6:4-6), we receive the gift of sanctifying grace and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit ( 1 cor.12:13, gal.3:27 ), and we are adopted as God’s sons ( rom.8:15-17), after our lord’s teaching that it is necessary for salvation to be born from above by water and spirit ( John 3:1-21), Jesus and his disciples went into the land of judea, there he remained with them and baptized “( John 3:22 ). then we the witness of the early church that John 3:5 refers to baptismal regeneration, this was universally recognized by the early Christians, the church fathers were unanimous in teaching this.

Matthew 10:1 - Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.

He walked away still confused as to how to be saved. The gospel is 1 Cor 15:1-4. It does not include repent of sins. Christ saves while we are dead in our sins, by faith, not in response to us trying to stop sinning. We get saved and then thr Spirit helps us to start overcoming sin. No one has ever stopped n never sinned again. No one!!

Yes, it's repent, not repent of sins. That's the one thing that Ray misses unfortunately. Nowhere in the Bible does it say to repent of sins. And repent means to change your mind in a Godly context. Even God repents in Jonah 3:10. God can't repent of sin.@@getrit3007

It's actually the " original sin " ; it's what caused Lucifer's fall = Pride. Isaiah 14:12-14 shows Lucifer's 5 prideful "I will" boasts. The rest of the verse is GOD's response of Judgement. Sadly, this same fatal sin of " Pride " is so endemic within the Roman system, that it blinds their followers into a false sense of ignorant superiority. All praise to JESUS that my immediate family has seen the light, humbled themselves, and become Born Again and left the Roman lies and deception. One must let go of pride and become humble for the Truth to reveal Himself. Romans embrace their pride above the TRUTH. MARANATHA !!!

I remember in college someone knocked on my door and asked if I read the bible and my comment was, "I don't have to read the bible, I'm a Catholic!" Thankfully years later, I was told about a Wednesday night meeting where I could hear about Jesus and when I heard what they had to say, all the unanswered questions I had growing up started to be answered (even when I asked a nun "How could Mary be a good wife and only have one child? I grew up in a family of 14 children). After accepting Jesus as my Savior and being born again my whole 'person' changed and my mother noticed a change because I didn't argue with her anymore she still said I was going to hell because I left the church. My neighbor prayed for 7 years for someone in our family to accept Jesus--I'm glad I'm assured of my future and I like how scripture said our households will be saved! I can't wait to talk the same language with a family member!!

Former Evangelical here. St.John :: Christ breathed the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and gave them the authority to forgive sin or to not forgive sin. This authority is passed to each successive generation of priests. You people's pastors cannot forgive sin because that authority has not been given to your pastors. It has always been so in All Christian history. You Latter Day spin-offs did not exist anywhere in Christian history untill a few 1,500 years later. Now, there are 4,000+ spin-off squabbling denominations of you heretics. Your Latter Day spin- offs are IMPLYING that Christ and the Apostles FAILED to establish their Church, but you latter day spin- offs fixed for them !!!! Sacrelige!!!!!

X was one of the early Christians symbols to identify one another because X is the letter of the Greek alphabet that is pronounced "" Ch "".. Get it ? Ch as in Christ !!!! Example : When the first Christian Emperor ( Constantine ) of the Roman Empire was about to be defeated in battle by another Roman army that was trying to reinstitute the Pagan gods, Constantine had his soldiers put a sign on their Sheilds They put X p. The p ( rho ) was pronounced with a "" r " sound. Thus their symbol was CHR for Chr ist. Constantine's army defeated their Pagan enemy and saved Christianity.

I do not know you, but be careful about going from one false teaching group to another. I do not know what you mean by "baptized with the Holy Spirit", but a lot of people use this to mean they are speaking in tongues. However, the speaking of tongues that goes around today is another false teaching of yet another false group. The supernatural gift of tongues as shown in the Bible is the ability that God gives people to speak another human language. You can clearly see this in Acts 2. This gift was primarily used in the early church to spread the gospel to multiple language groups. Nowadays people want to operate in the same way that the early church operated in, so you see them using fake tongues (gibberish), fake prophetic words (thoughts and images that come to your mind as if they are from God when they are actually just from your mind), fake healings (leg lengthening) etc. Most people caught up in this do not realize they have a fake tongue or fake prophetic words because they are trained to believe in something different about them than what the Bible teaches. Even in 1 Corinthians 12-14, Paul corrects people for falsely seeking the gifts in a self-seeking way to build themselves up rather than the church. He makes it clear that tongues are not a sign for the believer but for the unbeliever.
Anyhow, I know nothing about you, but as you've left one false group, be careful about not entering another false group. Study the scriptures regularly to see what they actually say.

@@Kojow7speaking in tongues is in the list of spiritual gifts found in 1st Corinthians 12 through 14. I speak in tongues, usually during intercessory prayer. John taught that people are baptized in water for repentance from sin, then Jesus comes and baptizes with the Holy Spirit and fire which is what happened at Pentecost and still happens to this day. I experience being baptized in that fire and ever since then I was able to pray in tongues. In fact most Christians around me in my area can pray in tongues and they love Jesus and bear evident fruit of the spirit in their character and lives, and we're not even Pentecostals. My Ministry also prays for healing and casting out of devils. We are continuing the work that Jesus commissioned us to do that the gospel will be accompanied by signs and wonders to back up the truth. Jesus said we will know them by their fruit. There's a difference between discernment and suspicion. Spiritual gifts exist to destroy the works of Satan and build up the body of christ. Paul listed that the greatest gift of all is prophecy and that we should all desire it. Of course Satan doesn't want us picking up these powerful spiritual tools and weapons and wants us to regard them with fear and suspicion.

As someone who grew up in a very Catholic home, going to Sunday School, every Sunday, every "holy day" etc, confession every week - I believed it all. Purgatory, Mortal and venial sins, praying to Mary, praying to the Saints, etc. When I was in my early 30's, I began reading my Catholic bible, and began a deep search for truth. What I found was all of the discrepancies between scriptures and Catholicism. This was while I was still attending the Catholic Church. I had never been allowed to even visit any other church and had been taught that going to other churches would be a sin. As I read scripture, I was filled with sadness because I realized I had been raised with beliefs that were not scriptural at all - but by Catholic laws and tradition. Many Catholics believe the Pope is infallible when it comes to matters of the church. As I prayed about all of this and was deeply conflicted, I continued to study scripture and pray that God would reveal Himself to me and that I would accept the words of Christ as a child. During this time , I was born again (terminology I had never understood and that actually made me angry) Around this time, I had to sign my young children up for Sunday School, and so I had to meet with the Nun who was in charge. She asked me where I felt I was in my "walk of faith" I excitedly told her that I finally understood what Jesus meant to be "born again". She became VERY angry with me and shouted at me that THAT - was "protestant theology"!! I was horrified. I told her, that THAT was what Jesus said in my Catholic bible - so either SHE was lying, or Jesus was lying and I didn't think it was Jesus. I left the Catholic church that day and never went back. It was the best decision i've ever made, and I have not ever regretted it.

@@TerryN-ps3eh So sorry to hear that. Perhaps instead of witnessing, just read and study the Bible with him. If he's not open to you witnessing to him, let the Bible witness to him. He may then ask you questions sometimes. If he does, answer them by turning to another Bible passage to show him the answer. Let him read the passage and ask him what it means. Of course sometimes his Catholic dogma will get in the way. But then you just need to bring him back to the scriptures again. That way it's the Bible witnessing to him and he can't argue against that.
