Ridge Racer 64 is available now for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members as part of the Nintendo 64 library. Released in 2000 for the Nintendo 64 console, this arcade classic takes you on fast-paced races across three different environments for a total of nine courses. Ridge Racer 64 features modes like Quick Play, Grand Prix, Car Attack, and Time Attack. You can also challenge friends in Multiplayer and take on three modes: Battle Mode, Stage Mode, and Team Mode.

Man this brings back memories, didn’t play the game myself but I distinctly remember seeing this game often in blockbusters and all the game shops when N64 was still in stores

I had this version for the N64. It was no Ridge Racer Type 4, but still not a bad amalgamation of the Playstation Ridge Racer and Ridge Racer Revolution, with some elements of RRT4 thrown in. The game does contain an N64 original Desert course. Which was a nice bonus, for some additional tracks. This version was also ported to the Nintendo DS as Ridge Racer DS.

I was thinking about this game yesterday. And today I see a trailer for it. Weird...
Anyway, this is pure racing. Just pick a car, pick a track and win. No gimmicks, just old school arcade style (not that gimmicks are bad). I think it's also one of the first games that had drifting in it?
