Moved here from The Bronx over a decade ago. This video is exaggeration at best! The Eastside is no way the worst hood in Charlotte! Nor is it a "Hispanic neighborhood". Hispanics are all over Charlotte as well as Black people! We live side by side in all areas! Charlotte is the #4 fastest growing city and a big banking city! If you're scared to get out of your car because you see a black person just say that. Charlotte is a great city to live and raise children in. My husband and I have raised 4 productive black citizens here, in the same area you're calling "a hispanic area"/hood. Please dont believe the hype, Charlotte's got a lot!

As a resident of East Charlotte who has lived in one of these so-called "dangerous" neighborhoods for 15 years, this is literally the silliest video I've seen on here in a while. I REALLY hope nobody takes this video seriously. 5 minutes of research on the internet would have told them all of the great places they could have stopped at while they were driving around in the "hood" (they drove past Lang Van TWICE, thought maybe I saw them drive past Manolo's too)
I skimmed through it for a while, but I had to stop once they got to what they called a "low-income suburb" because it "didn't have any big trees" (it doesn't have "big trees" because it was literally just built like 2 years ago, and the houses there are selling for $350k-$400k. That's a "low income suburb"!?)

Yeah these are honestly the nicest hoods I’ve ever seen. I live an hour north in GBoro and Our hoods here are far worse in the east but not necessarily dangerous just in bad condition. Just never go out at night in Greensboro.

I've lived in Charlotte most of my life, 30 plus years. I've worked in a lot of cities in the south. It's really not that bad. i'm a cyclist too. I've ridden all over Charlotte. Never had a problem. Charlotte isn't a hood!!

Exactly I was born and raised here since 94 I have never left Charlotte now back in 2000 -2005 there were very bad parts of Charlotte but as of 2015 most “hood” places have been gentrified and most hoses in those used to be hood areas are going for half million plus !! So Charlotte does not have any real hood ghetto or bad places now dirty yes but Charlotte is the safest !!

Many years ago, we(me and my wife and 2 small kids) moved here from up north. We didn't own a car, we moved by train. We stayed one night in Charlotte in a motel before heading to an apartment in Belmont. When the cab driver picked us up, he asked why we decided to stay the night on Sugar Creek Road. Truth is, we had no idea what we were doing, we picked it off a road map. Even though "technically" we were staying in one of the bad sections, everyone we met was so nice Maybe we were lucky not to run into trouble, but no matter what the neighborhood is in Charlotte, by far most people are great.
That’s basically all of North Carolinas cities.
This video is very much inaccurate… The majority of the Hispanic population is on Central Ave.. African American families are the majority of the east side of Charlotte.. Also Beatties Ford is NOT the most dangerous part of the city.. While I appreciate the videos, I can’t rely on them… Maybe stopping and talking to people would be ideal to get a better understanding of parts of the city.. Oh and I doubt they were going to carjack you lol… If you were scared just say that instead… Probably something sketchy but carjackings aren’t too common here…

I just moved to Charlotte 2 years ago. I live in Greiertown. I'm from the Bay Area and compared to cities like San Francisco, San Jose, Stockton and Oakland...Charlotte is not bad at all. Is a lil brazy for such a lil country ass city but its nowhere near as bad as the real thing. It's the quietest big city I've ever been in.

Grier town is where I went to school in early 80s - it was much worse back then. A lot of new houses in there now. Great people there too

TOTALLY B.S. Bro! I lived in Charlotte for 10 freaking years and never witnessed a single serious crime!, and I lived in the Genesis Park/Lasalle Ave. area before all the urban renewal. I often heard about crime second hand. Quit trying to hype crap that ain't even happening! Dude & Dudette, you all are straight up foul! Charlotte ain't perfect, but you are safer here than in most cities! (and I was also homeless in Charlotte for two years!)
Crime rate isn't insane for a city, but it's still there. CMPD are very busy, just listen to their radio traffic.
You need to stop anyone traveling to a unknown area don't park behind a building unless you're looking for somewhere to do something sketchy

First off... most people in any environment or situation if that's all you know, then that's all you know. I think that this video is very biased. I have lived in East Charlotte since 2005. My kids have both attended and graduated from school in East Charlotte. To continually use the term " hood" in the way it was delivered in this video was nothing but negative. That intersection of Shamrock and Eastway. I remember in highschool when we saw a guy in a Honda Civic crash and die. His homie went out the front windshield, somehow I think he survived. I grew up going around a lot of these areas and I actually drive through here everyday when I go to work.

Two Hispanic kids probably a year or two older than me at the time. I was probably in like 11th grade at the time. I think. If that’s the case then it’s been almost 15 years since. I went to Independence.

As someone who has been in Charlotte for 22 years and have spent time in other major cities, Charlotte is soft in comparison. I love my city & it’s not perfect but this is an exaggeration. Gentrification brings people who should honestly stay wherever they came from.

I was a collector for an auto finance company back in the late 90s and early 2000s. I knew this area well, because I had to go there to collect on past due accounts and to look for cars to repo. I know first-hand that this area is no way like it was back then. Most likely the guy was just getting out of his car and meant you no harm, and the area is pretty much safe today. But back then I would not have parked where you did. In fact, I would not have even got out of my car unless I absolutely had to. As a white man, I had to keep a low profile, and a few times, a gang would surround my vehicle and demand to know why I was there. The funny things is that when I told them I was looking for cars to repo or to collect money, they would let me go on my way without another word.

I currently live in Cincinnati Ohio, stayed in the Bay Area such as Berkeley, Oakland for Raiders Athletics and Warriors Games, San Francisco, Went to school at San Diego State, been to USC games in LA and visit my mom in Memphis and I've gotta say those places make Charlotte look quiet and far more peaceful. Crime is everywhere across the country, but I've been through Charlotte to visit with family and have to say The Queen City of the South is far more cleaner and nicer than the Queen City of The West Cincinnati, Ohio. I'm from Charlotte...interestingly enough I gave you your 705th like (which is coincidentally RIGHT after our area code of 704). Charlotte is a WONDERFUL City hands down as I've spent the majority of my life here. Is it free from problems? No...but like every major City in the United States, it certainly has it's advantages and weaknesses. Overall...you should be here year around and ingrained within the complete fabric of the City in order to rate it on an overall fair point of view.

I'm from p.r lived here in Charlotte for alil over 2 years. And I've walked through all these places dressed clean with jewelry. Buying stuff at stores and even with whip. Never had a problem. N I lived in the supposedly worst area. Just can't be scary. It's a vibe. Probably the least hostility out of anywhere I've lived. Also crazy things can go down anywhere js.
