I've been living in Charlotte my entire life. As all people who have lived in the same place for their whole life, I wanted to get out as soon as possible. However, as I've gotten older, traveled, and done more research into other places I could live, I found that Charlotte strikes a pretty good balance. While Charlotte is far from being an exciting place to live, the lower-than-average cost of living and beautiful scenery while still offering the basic hallmarks of any large American city make perfect middle ground between exciting and realistic. I know that might not be what a lot of people aspire to (I sure don't, I'd rather live somewhere more exciting), but I feel like I have to give Charlotte credit for the great deal it does offer. I've heard from many people that move here that Charlotte quickly begins to feel like home after moving here, and I could not be more proud to be a part of that welcoming atmosphere.
If you want to move to Charlotte, live south of the city, the safest locations are all south of the city. Ballantyne and Providence area is a good area to live.
@Cel.northeast96 Northeast side of the city is nice like plaza midwood area, very close to the city with lots of restaurants around. Very traffic heavy, especially using route 74(is a nightmare to drive on). Anymore north of plaza midwood like around Noda and more north is where you enter danger terrority. Shootings and crime happen more frequently, more homeless people around the more northern east areas. If you are looking into Charlotte, South of the city is typically the way to go. Starting around SouthPark and more south, SouthPark is good if you can afford it(very expensive). Anywhere stretching Ballantyne, through Providence, and into Matthews is very good. More safe, more laid back vibe, and is around a lot of stuff and near the main highway of Charlotte, route 485. Providence and Ballantyne would be my first looking choices, more youthful. Matthews is more of an older scene with youth mixed in but relies on route 74 which is a traffic nightmare.
@Cel.northeast96 check out Matthew's nc. Uptown Charlotte is nice too tbh. Stay out of all the sides, unless you're cool with negative elements. I lived eastside and Southside. Eastside is Spanish. Like legit i was the only white dude speaking English. Got messed w for a bit but once they realized I wasn't a snitch, my pit likes to bite, and I carry. Stopped getting messed w but they would break into my car on the regular and rip all my usmc shit off it. 🤷♂️ Def get your ccw asap, anywhere you move to in NC, cause it's a right afforded to us. Southside was American people and Haitian. I felt more welcomed there. They have the light rail that goes to uptown all the way to the northside, unc clt campus. Actually just don't go eastside or Westside. If you go Northside check out Concord nc. I lived there too. 15 min outside Charlotte, but still small town life and countryside if you want it.
@@drewbienewbie03xx81 Is a pretty good rule of thumb for Charlotte, stay away from the sides. Uptown Charlotte is a decent option as well. One con with it is you have to deal with a lot of traffic and having to cut through the city or go around the city to access a lot of things. The other con is the dangers of charlotte are more easily to spread into uptown rather than south of the city. I would just have the guy check out Ballantyne, Providence, and Matthews areas. More safe and easier to access a lot of things.
@Justin_black_leviathan That's what I heard. My gf lived in Charlotte several years ago, and she said her rent was so cheap. She said the rent has now doubled. That's horrible.
After watching this video I don’t have to watch another video on Charlotte. You hit everything! This is a very well put together video. I’m sending this to anyone who’s interested in moving to CLT. I’m coming back and I can’t wait!
Thank you so much for the kind words! Can’t wait to help you and any friends of yours make this place home. Best decision I ever made. Thanks for watching and again for the kind words!
Thank you for the video, one of the best I saw about Charlotte. I was ready to move 3 years ago from the state, better not to be mentioned out loud, but my wife graduates this year. Hopefully we will make it this summer despite the best moment already passed. NC seems to be almost ideal state, everything we are lacking here is great there. Couple of things are still a bit confusing when I was visiting Charlotte last time, suburbs are kinda dark, no lights or walkways, downtown is not very ‘active’ during weekends - not much working early not much late. The big amount of N power plant combining in SC + NC is worrisome, maybe it can be considered as a good sign of stable weather and geodesics.
Thanks for watching! Excited to welcome you to the Queen City soon! Suburbs all have a very different feel - if you’re looking for more of the prototypical suburban feel and less of a rural suburban feel, suburbs like Pineville, Huntersville, and Cornelius will be more your vibe. Different parts of downtown (or ‘uptown’ as the natives call it lol) are active or not during the weekends. The east end - in the center of the banking district - is very dead during the weekend, but the west end is very active especially towards South End, Ashley Park, and Dilworth. You’ll also hear me talk about the crazy weather here, but you are correct that it’s very moderate compared to most other places. Being this far inland behind the mountains has spoiled us. As far as geodesic activity, when you get into South Carolina down into Columbia and further south, there will be a handful of minor tremors per year, but my understanding is that Charlotte is close enough to the mountains to get none of that. Happy to answer all your questions and help any way I can with ensuring a smooth move. Call or text anytime! (980) 449-3750 Cheers, Lukas
The only advice I'm going to say is that getting your license is terrible here. Ive lived in Dallas/Austin/Miami/Phoenix and the DMVs there were a breeze compared to NC. Appts are nearly non-existent and walk-in appts don't really happen. We went to Asheville and ended up getting out licenses in Hendersonville. We stopped at a few places and they wouldn't let you walk-in until 1, and the line starts around 11. They only allow ~10 walk-ins a day. It was one of the worst experiences Ive ever dealt with.
How does Charlotte compare to Raleigh NC? I lived in Raleigh and loved it, I foolishly moved to Buffalo NY but the snow and the strictness of NY is awful. I have family in Charlotte and am considering Charlotte as a place to live. Just wondering how Charlotte compares to Raleigh. I'm big into the outdoors, are there cool parks in Charlotte? Does Charlotte have farmer's markets? Where is the best BBQ in Charlotte? How hard or easy is it to find work in Charlotte? Thanks for any of your answers in advance!
Charlotte is a bit bigger city than Raleigh. There are a few farmers market in and around Charlotte. Jobs are available, mostly in finance, retail and teaching and yes in health care too. So it is not very difficult to get a good job. Traffic is getting chaotic all around during rush hours. Weather is quite good year round, not tend to go to extreme. 3.5 hours to the mountains and about the same to the beaches. But I suggest you stay where you are. We are full to the brim. Just kidding. Been here for 25 years, we developed a love for the city. So good luck.
I would move to charlotte but the main thing that holds me back is that it isn’t very walkable (outside downtown) or at least bike friendly. The tram barely goes very far and there’s not much public transit since it’s so car dependent. I’m saying this as a North Carolinian who hasn’t lived in walkable cities like up north. I’m kinda tired of having to drive everywhere and charlottes traffic isn’t the best
I really hate driving in Charlotte because of how confusing our road network is and how crazy and aggressive people are and our traffic is reaching Atlanta levels so I see what you’re saying
I work in Charlotte for 30 years. I've watched it do some major growing. It got to crowded for me so I moved to the Eastern part of the state not far from the beaches.
I'm from Toronto and looking to move to Charlotte. I'm in tech (working as a data analyst) and have noticed quite a lot of IT job postings, so it seems the city has opportunities. Is it seen as a competitive job market? Toronto is pretty much so competitive and expensive, that if you're not lucky here, it's hard to live well. I was lucky to get my current job here through connections... which is now the norm in Toronto
Lots of great IT jobs here! We have a ton of relocation to the area - if you are looking for any specific sorts of roles let me know and I can put out feelers. Text is the best way to start a conversation! (980) 449-3750
The 85 south and 485 interchange going out of Charlotte towards Gastonia is congested because the roads take all inner and outer traffic of 485, merge it down to one lane that ends when it slots in to 85 south. If 85 south were narrowed down by a lane and the 485 traffic was given a free flowing lane it might be better, but there are no plans for this.
Preaching to the choir - I drive this intersection 1-2/wk week and it's insane. There's only a couple backroad options to get around it. I just tell myself it's still so much better than Atlanta traffic. Lol.
Very informative video 💯. I would agree with the points you made in terms of the increased cost of living & the competitive job market in Charlotte. However, I couldn’t see myself moving back there I’m from Lincoln Heights off Beatties Ford Rd, and even lived in Double Oaks & Sugar Creek before gentrification revitalized those areas. They were pretty rough back then….😕 I do remember the 704 having beautiful areas in the 2000s & early 2010s though.
been living in Charlotte for 20+ years, 8/10 experience, I just wish they rebuilt the roads more, Roads in the UNCC/Reedy Creek area have only been redone 2 times since I been here
My husband might be accepting a position and moving. We are from louisville ky. I feel weather wise it would be an improvment. For travel too. But the rest i am not so sure. How are allergens there? Do a lot of elementary schools provide lunches?
I used to live in Louisville so I can give a pretty direct comparison! Weather is a HUGE improvement. If by allergens you mean pollen etc, the first year is usually a little tougher than most people are used to. The pollen is different anytime you move regions. Second year is a lot easier, just eat locally grown honey and you’ll be fine. Travel is a MILE better in every way. As far as elementary schools, not 100% sure as I don’t have kids personally, but I’ve never heard of any schools NOT providing lunches. We have some of the best rated school systems in the US, and many New Yorkers move to NC specifically for the schools. Excited to welcome y’all to the area! What are your biggest questions remaining after watching the video? :)
@LivingInCharlotteTeam I'm having major anxiety as my husband will be moving and hopefully staying with friends until we can work on some goals and finances. We are moving with my mother in law so have to have an inlaw suite with its own restroom, we can build her a kitchenette and it would be amazing to have 2 sets of washer and dryer hook ups but not necessary. I have mobility issues so I prefer the hook ups to be upstairs. Here the housing market we would plan for around 250k. I do not want to live in the city. I can say my hubby would be working at clt if he gets accepted and I would hopefully be transferring with AAA. So we would need to be close to those, good schools and shoppable neighborhoods. I'm glad I found your channel. The research helps with my anxiety. Thanks for responding.

If you are interested in moving to Charlotte please do your homework, I suggest that you live as close as possible to your job. Charlotte is a fast growing City and the roads, school ‘s and healthcare are struggling to keep up. If you are young and want excitement move close to uptown, if you have kids in school then stop and do your homework. Do not buy a Townhouse unless it is in Town, they are building them everywhere, I live in Gaston Co. and people are paying $ 399,000 for a new Townhouse plus the HOA. Careful of planned communities the HOA will eat your lunch. Buy in a well developed area because the City is growing so quickly that where you might think is a little rural won’t be for long. I will not tell you where to live, you need to figure that out based on your job and schools. Crime is something that all Cities have, a realtor can’t tell you not to buy in a certain area, but ask locals that have been here a while. I have lived here almost 35 years and I have seen it change rapidly. There are a lot of videos on RUclips from realtors, who need to make a living, you should try to get here and spend a week which is not enough time to figure out the City but would help if you spent at least 8 hours a day driving around to all parts of the city. Good Luck 🍀
As a musician in Charlotte. Great video. There is however music every night in many places in Charlotte. Maybe not so much uptown but many other great places
I'm a 30-something musician considering moving to Charlotte, would love to hear more about which areas of town are good for gigs / spots that have live music / where I might be best situated to get to them. South End keeps coming up in some videos I've watched as an area that might be nice for young professional musicians.
I have been living in Charlotte, NC since 2015. The cost of living has tripled in the last 10 years, but I love Charlotte. However, I will be moving in the next year because I am so bored, and many of my friends have had to move to other areas due to the high cost of living. As a result, I have no social life anymore.
I just used to tell people "30 min to an hour" when they'd ask how long it takes to get to x place. Felt like it all took 30 min. Lol. Traffics bad for nc standards as it's the busiest city as far as traffic goes in nc. They probably haven't experienced larger scale cities.
I mean I get it, if you lived in the DMV, no traffic will ever bother you again. Miami is horrible too. Charlotte is not the worst but I would imagine people from smaller sized cities could be overwhelmed. Edit: Also I've been around Houston and it was packed for sure. Atlanta is also a true nightmare but if it's moving I don't care, LA seems to just stop 😂
@lovejones1897 Fair enough, I'm from across the river outside Union originally but I only remember driving into the city a few times and it was bad. We would just take the train when I was little.
Cool. Idk if you’ve visited lately though but there is a lot of change and it’s grown a whole lot with so many building projects. Wonder how it’ll work out for you
You forgot to tell them about: Carowinds & Lake Wylie which are located in NC AND SC... Lake Norman Wildwater Center 5 states within 5 hours driving...SC, FL, GA, TN VA...
I moved to Charlotte with my family from Connecticut in 2004 when I was 16. I found almost all of what you said to be true, and it made me proud of my city! One thing you didn't mention, which I found interesting, is the fact that Charlotte is kind of a melting pot, and a unique place in North Carolina. I'd say 90% of people who you talk to are not from Charlotte. Almost all of my friends are from other states. Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, Florida being ones that stand out in my friend group. It's pretty rare to find somebody who is from Charlotte, which Charlotte natives are very aware of, and usually think is funny. And while southern hospitality, or friendliness is definitely a thing here, you're not going to find many southern accents or traditional southern culture (besides biscuits, sweet tea and grits) unless you travel outside the city. You don't have to go far too find it though, haha. Oh I live in Pineville by the way, south Charlotte. Cost of living is rising and I'm not a banker, but I think it's a great place to live and raise a family.
100%! And the sweet tea and grits love is wild here. I’m originally from Indiana, and I feel like I got bullied into liking both grits and sweet tea within a couple years of moving here. Great place to be for sure! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I live in Steele Creek now off of Dixie River Rd about 2 miles from the River District and I am beyond excited! I wanted to grab a one bedroom apartment for my mom in there- so she'd be close to me. I know that they are also supposed to have a 55+ Active Adult community in there as well. I mean, it looks like renters and buyers will live together, single family homes, apartments, townhomes, a small retirement community and a designated area for affordable housing- best neighborhood ever! I LOVE that they will have an orchard and farmer's markets on the weekends for the surrounding community, so smart! I am all over this and cannot wait to hear more. My house is in Berewick and the value has literally gone up +$245k since 2017. I LOVE Steele Creek and looking forward to TRD opening soon!

Retired Banker here, with Bank America, why do you think when they took over Nations, Bank, they chose to call Charlotte as the headquarters, lower cost of business and low salary's unless your way up the line.
Moved to metro NYC area from CLT 19 years ago and still drive through the area 4 times/year. CLT traffic is WAY worse, primarily because people don’t want to leave their cars at home.
Charlotte traffic is pretty much on par with Atlanta traffic in so many aspects. Absolute nightmare to drive here. Charlotte isn’t walkable, and it honestly isn’t drivable either
Correct, the toll road is $2-$4 depending on traffic. I’ve never even noticed much of a toll bill on my credit card. Thanks for watching and commenting!
My favorite part of moving to charlotte was how many people you meet moved here as well. It’s unusual to find someone who was born here and you can find tons of people looking to meet new friends who are new to the area.
@@RunswithWolves11 I'm from Charlotte. Most people here now seem to be transplants. Charlotteans are moving outside the city because with this massive growth have come bad drivers and traffic, high cost of living, gentrification, litter and crime. It's not the lovely little midsized city I grew up in.
That was one of the most thorough and detailed videos about the Charlotte metro that I’ve ever seen, thank you! Overall I think Charlotte and NC on the whole checks a ton of boxes. There’s no perfect place obviously. We’re wanting to relocate from SW Florida next year, and I often think that Florida is truly a land of extremes. I’ve been here 13 years, and I think NC will be a welcome change in so many ways! We’re hoping to land in Ballantyne, but realistically prices there might push us slightly west or south across the border. Is Steele Creek area considered to be one of the areas that originally were landfills? My ears perked up when I heard that and that would certainly make us take pause.. thanks!

@@LivingInCharlotteTeam thank you! We aren’t able to move until at least summer of 2025 due to my husband’s son not graduating high school until then (custody situation) and predominantly, the prices. We loved some of the Ballantyne neighborhoods that are zoned for those amazing public schools such as Hawk Ridge Elementary, Community House Middle and Ardrey Kell High, however we realize competition in those neighborhoods are stiff and right now at least, the prices are out of our reach. I’ve been researching Fort Mill and Rock Hill, and also Steele Creek but don’t have specific addresses there. The one thing we’ve noticed however are the schools don’t seem very good near to Steele Creek. We have twins that are 2nd grade right now so schools are a huge concern for us. The public transportation is not that efficient in charlotte. The light rail is really only an advantage if you’re in Southend, downtown, and NoDa, and only if you’re only a couple blocks from the mainline. The city isn’t really that walkable. Unless you are making enough money to live in the better neighborhoods, like ardent kell or providence, you’re not really going to be able to take advantage of the better char-meck schools. You can always tell when someone isn’t from charlotte. Crime is steadily on the rise here, like any growing metro in the US. But it’s mostly safe. The biggest crimes here are mostly property crimes and not necessarily violent crimes although those are on the rise as well. Charlotte is conveniently located to everything which is cool.2-4hrs to the beach, mtns, and other states. Always things to do, but if you’re in for the nightlife you gotta live in Southend or NoDa. It’s not really a club vibe city. More bars and brewery type places.
For entertainment you left out Carowinds (amusement park), the Whitewater Center, Carolina Raptor Center, Discovery Place, Carolina Renaissance Festival (seasonal), and I'm sure a few other things.
Carowinds is a great one! For anyone who wants to learn more about Whitewater center I covered it in the Mount Holly video. Thanks for contributing to the discussion! 😊

I think it’ll be effective as someone in New York City, is to work remotely or work for companies based in nyc coz I assume that the salary is going to be lower
I was born and grew up on Providence in South Charlotte. It was a great location until everyone decided to move there. It's still nice, but it's becoming just as congested, if not worse, than the "older" areas of Charlotte. Drivers on Providence have the audacity of thinking they own the road because they have money. Jokes on them; it's not theirs, it belongs to us native Charlotteans.
I lived in Raintree on Ballantyne lived in Charlotte NC since 94 and I remember everything was wooded back then J.M. didn't exist Tom Short wasn't there Providence R.D. ended at Ballantyne All of Audrey Kell Didn't exist 521 had only 2 gas stations Pineville didn't have all those apartments so much has changed and Yes you better know how to drive because other drivers do feel entitled on the roads
@@EmpireStateExpress01 It's an honor to help welcome y'all to the Queen City! What's your biggest question or concern coming to Charlotte from Michigan?
Don’t widen roads, the problem just gets worse build wider sidewalks and bike lanes. It’s the only way to combat car traffic. Widening roads just makes more people driving cars which means you will have to widen the roads again very soon. 😢

Dear lady, I'm a black man and I have lived, worked and been educated in mostly white areas in New England and the Northeast for many decades without any race problem. I've stayed out of Democrat-run urban areas, because that's where most American violent street crime and property crime occurs! Look up actual crime stats going back for six decades, if you don't believe me. The West is the least racist region in the world and America is the best of the West, whatever color you are! If NOT, why are so many non-white illegal aliens flooding into Western countries, including the US, like its going out of style?! I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't understand this, but I don't lose any sleep worrying about "white racism", which has never stopped me, or anyone in my family, from reaching any goal. I wish you good luck in your search for a new place to call home.
The cost of living in Charlotte, NC is your sanity. You will go insane due to the traffic and stupid drivers. You will have morons driving in the far left lane going slower than the speed limit.
There’s always a close call on the road. I went to Scottsdale, Arizona recently and my mom and I were relieved that we didn’t have the urge to cuss out a driver every five seconds like we do here in Charlotte.
I am born and raised in Charlotte, only south of the city is worth moving to for safety and quality of life. South Park, Ballantine, Matthews, Pineville, Mint Hill, however the pricing is not for the light of wallets. Anything else you are risking your life. The crime rate was improving until their got rid of police chief Monroe. The sheriff, county commission, city council and mayors are a complete joke and very soft on crime and constantly release dangerous criminals back on the streets and advocate policies to continue such and ponder why we have a crime issue. The traffic here is terrible and the mass transit is laughable.
I spit my drink out in the first few seconds when you said crazy weather. LOL. What? I’ve been here 8 years. What crazy weather? Everything about the weather here is mild. I moved here to get away from extreme weather. Sincerely, a Floridian. 😂
I’ve been here all my life and crazy weather does exist here. I met some people who live in the northeast who have said that they have driven through Charlotte and have been caught in what they quote “the most intense thunderstorms they’ve ever been in” which is just normal for me. While we don’t get the worst of the hurricanes we still can get it bad. Hurricane Hugo was still a category 1 hurricane with sustained winds of 80 mph with gusts of 100 mph for multiple hours when it came through Charlotte and the city did not have the infrastructure for that. Hurricane Danny in 1997 poured over 6 inches of rain in Charlotte in a single day causing massive amounts of flash flooding that caused a train to derail, fall into a flooded creek, and spill thousands of gallons of diesel into the creek causing evacuations of homes around the area where it occurred. The freezing rain of the ice storm of 2002 caused an inch of black ice to form which effectively paralyzed the city for a very long time. Southern parts of the Charlotte area got up to 20 inches of snow during the blizzard of 2004 with the airport confirming over a foot of snow in just a few hours. In May of 1989 an F4 tornado with winds likely over 200 mph occurred in Indian Trail (right outside of Charlotte) and in 1994 an F3 tornado went right into the city limits of Charlotte and caused significant damage at the airport. In February 2020 a tornado outbreak occurred with something like 6 tornadoes happening in the Charlotte metro area in a single day, including 2 EF2s and an EF1 that went through Matthews. We can see temperatures up to over 100 degrees with humidity that can cause even higher heat indexes and there have been a few times where temperatures have fallen below zero (our record low is -5) with likely wind chills of much lower that can happen. And we have droughts that can lead to possible wildfire risks (not a massive concern but can be an issue in charlotte), and flooding is very much an issue here. And most recently in April of this year, one of Charlotte’s suburbs, Rock Hill, got a thunderstorm that produced hail up to the size of softballs and straight line winds of 90 mph. In conclusion, Charlotte weather can be quite extreme. I have seen some crazy stuff while living here. It may not be as extreme as other places but it can still get crazy here. It is usually mild but we have our moments where weather can get really bad.
My spouse and I are interested in moving to Charlotte from Pittsburgh, PA. We’ve lived in a total of 3 states and traveled half of the US. We’re planning to visit this year and take a road trip down. You can’t find a house anywhere close to $360000 in South Charlotte. I wouldn’t live anywhere else, especially if you send your kids to public schools.
I lived in Charlotte 20 years ago in the Ballantyne Commons area. it was very upscale and safe with good shopping, but far from downtown. But at that time, the job market was horrible.
Everyone coming from the northeast isn’t coming from NYC. I personally kno ppl who’ve moved from Philly, B-More, Buffalo, Syracuse, Boston. So to make the blanket statement that moving from the northeast you’ll be saving a significant amount of money is a bit misleading. The cost of living in those cities is nowhere near what it is in NYC n their in the NE n I can argue Charlotte cost of living might higher than Buffalo’s
I used to live outside of Syracuse (B-Ville) and Charlotte is significantly cheaper - taxes, housing, etc. Love the finger lakes and much of Upstate, but you couldn't PAY me to live in Buffalo. 😂 Thanks for watching!
That’s why there’s imminent domain laws to allow for infrastructure expansion. My family actually went through that back in 2001 when we sold our old house to the state for an interstate expansion. We were able to afford a big beautiful NEW home from the proceeds that was 1000x better than our first home. 🤩
Yep, as you pointed out there’s a lot of relocation from northeastern states because it’s a great place to live. Most people move here FOR a great paying job offer, which as you pointed out over time raises costs because everyone is making more money. As I mentioned before, still not sure why you’re heckling me? Still flattered though, thanks for engaging!
Yes. All this ‘relocating’ has really hit people native to their states HARD. People are getting priced out of their own cities, counties, and neighborhoods. It’s really sad.
I’ve been really annoyed with how many people say it’s “cheap” to live here. I understand compared to the bigger cities, it is. It’s just really frustrating because this is making it harder for people who have lived here their whole lives. I was born in Winston-Salem, NC but have lived in Charlotte since I was a toddler.
Charlotte used to be nice then a lot of people from out of town moved in and the housing market got expensive to the point that people from NC can't afford to live here and crime is ridiculous I'm live in concord and you couldn't pay me to move back to Charlotte
1000% - the moment I visited Charlotte I was sold and never looked back. Moving here was the best decision I ever made. Thanks for watching!
@LivingInCharlotteTeam
Where are you from?
TRY LIVING IN TOLEDO BUDDY!
Lmao, so the most expensive place outside Charlotte. Heard. Matthew's is a much better option.

That's what I heard.
As I am thinking of moving to Charlotte, I found this video greatly useful. Thank you.
@@JesseTrammellThx
@@JesseTrammell I agree. NCDMV is the absolute worst. HORRIBLE
Are you going to answer my questions? I need to know please so I can know more about what to expect from Charlotte. Thank you!

I heard Buffalo is declining because of job losses from auto industry got shut down back in the old days
Yeah Charlotte is just not there on transit. America as a whole is way behind on transit.
I work in Charlotte for 30 years. I've watched it do some major growing. It got to crowded for me so I moved to the Eastern part of the state not far from the beaches.
Smart..ENC is beautiful.
Now everyone will join you there 😊
I'm from Toronto and looking to move to Charlotte.

Toronto is in Canada. Are you eligible to emigrate to the USA?

@chickenfeet9558, you can't tell someone where to move. Lol
Where are you moving that isn't boring?
Having lived in L.A, DMV, and Houston, Charlotte is by the far the best place I’ve ever lived. The traffic here isn’t even bad.
The driving is horrible

NC, no tornadoes, no hurricanes . Would be great if i could live there.
Hurricanes in the East and Tornados in the Center to Center Right.
Both of them exist in NC coming from someone who has lived here in Charlotte my whole life
We’ve had both
I live in Cincinnati OH and think of moving to Charlotte NC
I moved here from Indy! It’s absolutely the best decision I ever made
What made you consider making a move?
Moving from Nashville Tennessee…. This don’t sound bad at all….. I’m a realtor as well in Tennessee. Did my research and love charlotte so far!!!!
Great video. Fantastic info!
Thanks Bryan! Pleasure chatting with you last week!
Don’t widen roads, the problem just gets worse build wider sidewalks and bike lanes. It’s the only way to combat car traffic. Widening roads just makes more people driving cars which means you will have to widen the roads again very soon. 😢

It's crazy to live here, organic good on every corner and low schools
Thanks for great content and honest explanation.
Considering Charlotte and Chicago. Moving from San Diego California.
Charlotte is getting more positive points
Appreciate the kind words! I grew up near Chicago and decided Charlotte had more positive points than Chi-town as well. :)
What's your biggest consideration between the two?
I say go to Charlotte a well! I'm from Chicago, born and raised. My wife and I are looking to relocate to Charlotte. We've visited Charlotte a couple of times already. It's refreshing and much needed change of pace.

No it is not safe in Charlotte and more. Crime is rampant
20:32 Charleston is in SC.
Yep, thanks for watching and commenting!
@LivingInCharlotteTeam I am certain you knew that. I was just saying for editing purposes 😁👍
It is usually mild but we have our moments where weather can get really bad.
well done sir, great info. ty
Thanks for the kind words! Happy to be of help!
My spouse and I are interested in moving to Charlotte from Pittsburgh, PA. We’ve lived in a total of 3 states and traveled half of the US. We’re planning to visit this year and take a road trip down. Crime is a big concern for us so if you could recommend a few safe possible areas to visit that would be great! So far online searches make it seem great so we’re ready to see in person if it’s the right place for us.
Hope to welcome you here very soon! Many clients enjoy staying in Ballantyne or Myers Park areas if you’d like to stay in close proximity to the city. Huntersville, Cornelius, or Weddington may be better if you’d like to explore the suburbs. Either way, you can call/text me at 980-449-3750 or scan the QR on my channel page to schedule a time to meet on zoom. Look forward to meeting soon! -Lukas Rohler, Realtor
Move to charlotte stay on the south or an outskirt and you better choose the right area. Suburbs mixed up with the slums 💯

I LIVE IN CHARLOTTE. MY NEIGHBORHOOD IS THE F$@CKING WILD WILD WEST!!!

I miss Charlotte.
Charlotte Knights?
Over stating the traffic I take 77 everyday it's never a "parking lot" might add 5-8 minutes to your commute in and out of the city. Also we have a triple a baseball team, why didn't he mention that? They play at truist field an amazing park just outside one of the best neighborhoods
Hey brother...how can you be a Charlotte resident and NOT know about the Charlotte Knights with that GORGEOUS stadium RIGHT less than a tenth of a mile away from BANK OF AMERICA STADIUM?? Are you sure that you live in Charlotte? There is NO WAY that you could have missed that...especially when you mention Romare Bearden park which is DIRECTLY across the street from Truist Park WHERE THE KNIGHTS PLAY! LOL
Hahaha I’m more of a Kannapolis Cannonballers type guy 😉 thanks for watching and I’ll be including the Knights in future videos 😂
I was born here and now with so many people moving in it doesnt feel like home 😅
Do you help with rentals as well ?
I can't believe you talked about baseball and didn't mention the Charlotte Knights. You must live in the Northeast area.
🤣
We have the Charlotte Knights for baseball. Still not major league
And the Kannapolis Cannonballers too!
I was looking at Asheville. Drug infested and for hippies. I am Florida boy. I don’t want snow. So looking southern NC. Mom lives part time in Dunn NC . Near Raleigh which has a high crime rate. I am looking around lake area like Tilray.
We have tours of homes on Tilray coming very soon! Already recorded and should be live in the next week or so. What sort of budget were you looking at?
Happy to help you find a good place to move to, many Floridians enjoy SC because it can be a bit easier transition depending on area. Southern NC also offers similar, especially lake Tilray area for what you're describing.

You can’t find a house anywhere close to $360000 in South Charlotte. I wouldn’t live anywhere else, especially if you send your kids to public schools.
All depends on what you’re looking for - you can even find condos in Myers Park for under $200K if you know where to look 😉
I have to agree...Charlotte's skyline is 🤩
I have a really good picture of it at night on my Instagram from an aerial view
Also they won’t have anymore room to widen all of the lanes due to the increase of congestion.
That’s why there’s imminent domain laws to allow for infrastructure expansion. My family actually went through that back in 2001 when we sold our old house to the state for an interstate expansion. We were able to afford a big beautiful NEW home from the proceeds that was 1000x better than our first home. 🤩
Well done!
Thanks for the kind words! The team and I put well over 100hrs collectively into this video so I hope it's helpful and enjoyable to watch.
Great video---thanks
Ahahahaha…. Bumper to bumper traffic. There are some spots that have traffic but not comparable to Atlanta GA or even Los Angeles
Oh yeah it’s nothing comparatively 😂
Its a beautiful city, its too expensive for me.
So true on the roads. They never had a plan and they keep making the same mistakes as they continue to build.
So.... a 2 inch spider is big in Charlotte? Sign me up!
Pretty soon the cost will rise to the point where it does cost as much as if you were living in New York City. You shall see one day.
It already is
I came from Los Angeles. I promise you, this “traffic” is so nice compared to LA.
People don’t realize how good we have it here!
Public education should be researched in Nc. Leaving that here 🎤
Thank you!!!
