Wow what can i say Thank you for your great feedback and praise. I really appreciate that. Please keep going! It's really a shame we're so many miles apart, otherwise I'd love to show up with a couple of six packs. ;)
To answer a few questions for those who are interested:
Why isn't Starscream's frame red?
I wanted to have a consistent color derivation: wing color for the frame, vertical stabilizer for the background. To be honest: the first version was red and standalone it looked amazing. But it broke the concept. My inner Monk couldn't let that happen.
What's up with Ravage?
Perspective, lens curvature, wide angle lens, I have no idea. It looks weird in the photo. In real he is absolutely level. Should have photographed individually. My fault. :/
Where did the idea come from?
Your comments in the video already contained everything. G1 is my childhood. I love the Decepticon characters. I still had the toys in boxes, so what do you do with them? They look absolutely cr*p on the shelf. Even worse in robot mode. So I've been looking for a way that works.
Did the Insecticons come first?
No, it started with the Constructicons. Those are my favourites. But yeah, it immediately reminded me of bug collections in shadowboxes, too, so next up were the Insecticons.
Combaticons too lame?
Yes they are. Especially in comparison. I tried to pick up the shade of blue from Onslaught. Does not work well. It's too dark and drowns out the muted tones of the rest of the team. Maybe I'll look for a better solution here soon.
More calm in the frame arrangement?
Totally get the idea and it bothered me for a long time, too. But since the colors of the frames are dictated by the colors of the toys, there is little leeway. So instead I decided to have the seekers and combiners line up. Now it's colourful, restless and mixed. That's okay with me if the environment is even and calm.

Maybe olive drab/military green frame for combaticons?
@@anepicpie The aim was to be able to rebuild everything at any time. Gluing was forbidden. I also didn't want cable ties or fishing threads, because I wanted to be able to remove the figures at any time. I made some custom brackets out of sheet metal. For example, I was able to mount the front axles of the vehicles. If you look at the underside of the toys, you'll get a pretty good idea of where to start.
Yeah that first set of displays is gorgeous.

Was a patron for many months, and have to say that this channel puts out more content thats worth the money than anyone. If I ever join another Patreon, it will be this one.
Bobby's description of the G1 figures is, in his words, spot on and pretty much explains why I would never touch a G1 figure with your 10 foot pole. Trash ass bot modes, but damn if their alt modes didn't look good.
I literaly started clapping in applause yelling "YES" the second I saw that framed G1 set up, never have I needed something this immediate after seeing it.

I've been a Patreon subscriber for a few years and never regretted it. This conversation in Patreon is not an hour...it's an hour and a half. I wasn't sure what was happening or what the outcome would be for Dummies.

That first collection with the G1 framed vehicles looks amazing. I think it works becomes of the top down look. Since your seeing the vehicles from the top it reminds you of playing with them as a kid. Since as a kid your mostly seeing them from the top zooming them around on the ground. But yes the insecticon one does remind you of a framed / pinned bug collection. I would love to see more of this. From all the deceticon Combiners like this. That bottom row looks amazing.

There is a needed artistic approach to displaying a lot of people with collections lack . The passion to possess burns the gas to access creativity . I look at displaying in 3 layers , the first being the painted setting , then a cinematic aspect where angle and perspective is assumed in juxtaposition with an illusory sense of depth of space . Well I got to get to it and do it so when I take pictures the whole internet can copy me :) , flattery I guess .
