Vikrant Massey acted really well but his character portrayal didn't have that darkness which this role required . Needed the vibe which Prasant Narayan left us with in Murder 2 . (IMO)
I think he did well with his role. If you see the real Suresh Koli who his character is based off of, he looks like a normal guy. There is nothing eerie or disturbing about him. Most predators are charismatic, manipulative, nice looking people hence they are the last people you would suspect. I feel Virat’s character not being too dark made it 20x scarier cause that could be your next door neighbour or some person you know who seems like a nice person.
Prasant was so good in murder 2. Because of his character portrayal I was not able to sleep for days. I have not watch 32 sector yet so I can't say anything about vikrant performance.

Bro that interrogation scene just traumatized me for a day such a brilliant performance by Vikrant Massey. Like at once he acts like a very familiar person but then the words come out of his mouth just leaves you speechless
Found Vikrant Massey to be overacting a little, trying to be someone he is not. In my opinion, Vikrant Massey should have played inspector and Deepak to play Prem.

I think that because of Noida being under the jurisdiction of the UP govt, the makers adopted a safety driven choice of shifting the crime scenes to Delhi and portraying the case as being their fault mainly because of the current political environment in UP
The frustrating thing about the acquital of these two is that the lapse was not on the side of judiciary but the investigative agencies who couldn't build a watertight case.
I really creeped out by the acting of vikrant in interrogation scene damn sad movie but awesome the release of the real culprit breaks my heart if u are wealthy u can do whatever u want sad reality man
Exactly felt the same. I was in class 7th when this incident happened. NGL I was legit scared back then. This was also the first time I got to know about cannibalism (The only other cannibalism incident that I could remember from back then was one from an episode from a show on sony tv where Makrand Deshpandey played a cannibal). So, I was actually bummed when the actual facts were not shown in this movie. It somewhere did not leave the impact it was intended to leave. Also it was quite responsible on the part of makers to not show the crime & even mute the part where Prem was narrating the horrors of the crimes he committed. I think this was done intentionally so that people don’t get inspired by the same. Also, I kinda prefer (acting wise) Raghav’s psychopath character from Kill more than Vikrant’s character in this film. May be the writing or something else but Vikrant did not look as evil as he should have been.

It was like a city of hell for me and friends who knew about the case through TV news. It brought back all the bad memories and discussions we used to have.
This is one of the best films this year. The social commentary was spot on. Vikrant nailed it. The film was never about the case..it clearly differentiates between the class of society and the treatment they deserve from the authorities. How they were the soft target.
This was not a documentary but a very powerful dark film with strong social commentary. The last scene , where the lack of change of the moral compass, if not becoming worse, within the police department hit me the most.
Jammy i hear you, and im not diminishing the case by any means. But this movie is not about the nithari killings per se. It is "loosely" based on it. So the artistic liberty is understandable. Fair? No. But understandable.
The problem brother is, literally every finding of the case including those accused and their descriptions are identical to the Nithari case. Why take the creative liberty in other features when you're leaving no shadow of a doubt that this is that case

I don't understand this. In one scene prem is shown to be scared shitless when Pandey almost catches him. He makes phone calls to bassi and the compounder because he feels there's a risk of his and his boss's secrets being exposed. In the other hand there's prem revealing everything during the interrogation with copious details. It just seemed too convenient. As if the makers of the film just made efforts to glorify the interrogation scene but not the build up to it. Like how do you show a killer scared to get caught in one scene and then just the opposite in other scene. A serial killer makes attempts to never get caught
He was not ashamed of his deeds as he was a psychopath. But, even they have fear of loosing their reputation, getting caught in kidnapping of policeman daughter is something that is wrong as per his learning , at the same time exploiting or killing poor kids, and the woman he liked is something that they deserved in his opinion. He wasn't ashamed of all his deeds, but still they have a fear of getting caught in an act. It's so f**ked up in their head, that normal people don't understand why and what. They can't think rationally, feel like normal people, but based on their learning they do things, and they justify their actions throughout and can do any sort of evil as long as it is not wrong in their head.

Completely agree with your review . I felt the same, they shouldn’t have gone down the who-dun-it thriller route on this subject as it’s based on true events and the music was so misplaced, tonally jarring ! Wish the filmmaker had been sensitive and honest regarding the screenplay ! Disappointing for sure
My first intro the nithari murders was through the web series Abhay, whilst it was a fictional take also it did give me a reason to look forward to the movie to know the actual details. But the aside the perfomance and certain scenes, just knowing that facts have been changed takes away what would make the movie special
I was hesitant when I heard Deepak Dobriyal is the protagonist because his silver screen persona is more of a comedic character. But he surprised me! Little did I know he is actually very well established in the theatre scene.
I liked that part of the interrogation scene where Vikrant's goes low and Deepak starts recollecting the names of those kids. Brilliantly, avoided Vikrant's actual explanation. That also elevated the scene to a new level.
Thank you for this video… these are my exact thoughts on this case, while the reality of it is something I am actively following, this film was harder to digest…
Thank you for such a truthful review - going beyond mere movie review and talking about the reality shown in the movie. My biggest gripe with movies made on real story is twisting the truth. I feel not telling the story as is is twisting the truth. How many people who watched the movie would go and find out what happened in real life?
I started watching this movie and when the boy and vikrant came on screen I just couldn't continue watching, it was so real. Vikrant's acting is too real and the dialogues are too real.
I watched it yesterday's and omg what an acting by both the lead cast Deepak Dobriyal and Vikrant Massey......Vikrant with his psychopath demeanour chills down my spine especially in that interrogation scene ....he didn't take the larger than life villain approach and makes it more grounded which is applaudable 👏👏....... whereas Deepak Dobriyal as sub inspector pandey portrayed a very subtle performance.....he shines in emotional scenes ...his eyes speaks a lot about what's going in his mind ........one of the best movie i seen in recent times ......hope we get to see Deepak Dobriyal sir more and more
I get your frustration at the direction chosen but I also feel that there are very few films that portray a case as is for the fear of it turning into a docu-drama. Talvar & Madras Cafe are the ones I remember that tried to do so. But this movie did bring the plight of the poor & the gruesomeness of the crimes to the fore. I for one didn’t know where the case currently stands before the movie..
Buddy, at the end of the day, that is a production and feeds many families. The director WILL have to make sure that it doesn't cause problems in today's Indian diaspora. On the other hand, I commend YOU for speaking about it and bringing your audience's attention towards the issue. Your decisions affect only you (assuming you work solo, apologies in advance if you don't) .
I loved the film but it's really traumatizing!! 😭 Vikrant's character is so creepy and scary and literally gives chills!! His guilt-less confession and his past ahh everything is scary!! I can't believe he is the same guy who played Veer in BBB, he is so versatile ❤️ Also I have been Vikrant's fan like for the longest time, but this time I was just so much in awe of Deepak Dobriyal I mean wow from the start to the end, the way he portrayed the character so justly!!! Also, an observation: during the chase scene both Deepak and Vikrant's characters are in Ravana's get up signifying that both are (in diff ways obviously) unjust and evil. The interrogation scene and climax gave me chills, and ofcourse I saw it at night, haven't slept in 2 days 😭👍🏻

the principle that no one should be convicted based on conjecture or doubt. This is rooted in the idea that it's better for a guilty person to go free than for an innocent person to be wrongly convicted. While this principle can sometimes lead to the acquittal of individuals who may be guilty, it's a necessary safeguard to prevent the injustice of convicting the innocent. As you pointed out, there can be collateral consequences, but upholding this standard is essential to preserving fairness and the rule of law. It's a balance between individual rights and societal safety, often leaning towards protecting the former, even if it means some level of compromise on the lat
Thank you for starting out this video the way you did. The Justice system in India has long become a joke. It is unbelievable that a case like this, so well publicised has acquitted its main perpetrators like this.
I haven't seen the movie yet, but I did know about this Talwar's case through this national series of India Crime Patrol, so on a base of established viewers of that jig, i can say Patrol's screen play is way better then these high flying movies, sometimes it's so linear that you watch it in episode not in a single sitting, that drag that boring.
I came here after watching the movie and genuinely felt the movie didnt do justice to the real case. I was expecting a little more from the story. Maybe a series of this would have been better than a movie. Nonetheless, hats off to vikrant's acting. Thanks for your review. Love how you articulate things. 👍🏻
On the same adaptation, Prashant Narayan did the outstanding acting before ages. His character was something which gave that persona ki insan ko dekhkar ghinn ajaye.
How I wish it was only a hypothetical movie, with no links to any real life incidents. I too remember being in school during that time, and we had shifted to our new home, and the colony here was pretty silent in the day time, that horror of unsaid fear still is afresh in my heart and mind. Its tragic and disheartening to see the culprits roaming around freely or having been acquitted of so many heinous and brutal crimes. Talking solely from the movie perspective - The movie itself had amazing performances - Vikrant, Deepak, Mr. Zariwala, Ajeet Palawat(also my theatre teacher), and the pehelwans (they sent chills down my spine).
100% agree with this video. The performances and direction etc doesn't matter when you take a serious subject then it must be dealt with sincerity. You should not make a movie on real life incidents to use plight of people to make money if you don't intend to show the details. After watching the movie you will only feel disgust but you won't know anything about what happened in reality except for innocent children were abused and killed. Why ? Was there any organ racket involved ? Why there were let go free ? Etc thsi is doglapan.
I heard this case during my school days. I used to go BBPS Noida until my 9th class later we moved to South delhi. All these stories mentioned actually happened during the 20s.
I was too young at that time to follow the case and went in only knowing the bare bones, but still, although a lot of important aspects of our society and justice system were highlighted, it felt a bit oversimplified - now that I've done my research, it feels even more so. I understand the choice to create a protagonist for us to follow, at the same time, it dilutes and disrespects what the parents experienced to take one of the police officers that dismissed and neglected their pleas to help find their missing children and make him have a change of heart to become the unsung hero of this case. There were no such heroes for them, and there might not even be justice.
Wealth is only with politicians, sportsmen, filmstars and business men in this country, rest are all doomed. Its always better to move to a country where human rights are taken seriously. Cant imagine the horror and trauma victims went through in these incidents
Hmmm agree with your point of view but this could have been addressed simply by a caveat by the makers on the lines of “that what we have shown is what we expect from our force “

Vikrant Massey acted really well but his character portrayal didn't have that darkness which this role required . Needed the vibe which Prasant Narayan left us with in Murder 2 . (IMO)
Even though I agree with the same , he did a good job but it wasn't as nerve chilling or scary as it should be.
I agree.. The character was tooo dark, but he couldn't portray to that level.. It was average..
I feel the same
I think he did well with his role.
The judiciary and police of this country to almost every institution of this country and the leaders are rotten to its core. It gets more depressing with each day. Jai Hind.
What about the POLITICIANS which WE elect ? WE are the CULPRITS for electing such criminal & racist politicians as they are the one's who decides the judiciary & police enforcement in our country.
When WE as a country without any prejudices elect a leader then they should be OUR servants but sadly in INDIA it's the other way round WE are behaving like their servants.
Bro that interrogation scene just traumatized me for a day such a brilliant performance by Vikrant Massey. Like at once he acts like a very familiar person but then the words come out of his mouth just leaves you speechless
And the sheer cluelessness! Almost shocked that he will be punished for such a thing!
Found Vikrant Massey to be overacting a little, trying to be someone he is not. In my opinion, Vikrant Massey should have played inspector and Deepak to play Prem.
@@ProudIndian6450😂😂 I agree. Love him as an actor but the interrogation part his acting was lil bit cringe and sloppy. This is my personal opinion no hate towards the actor. I love him I have been rooting for him since his tv days “baba Aisa varr dhundo “.
This movie reminded me of another horrific film I saw called Silenced. The film got so much attention that it changed the South Korean Law! I hope this film can do something like that as well and it serves some justice to the parents who lost their kids. Hope they reopen the case or bring some change in our country's justice system!

its actually crazy to think that without nationwide protests,a victim can't seem to get their justice.

There is no hope for our country and the children. How do people close their eyes.
I think that because of Noida being under the jurisdiction of the UP govt, the makers adopted a safety driven choice of shifting the crime scenes to Delhi and portraying the case as being their fault mainly because of the current political environment in UP

@@kritipant9041 well I have but honestly he went on a next level on this if you remember the starting scene
…nithari kaand ko copy kiya lekin dark movie banane ke guts nahi thi unme

Dark toh lgi muje movie but the actual case is even more darker.

I was not able to sleep after watching this film. Hats off to vikrant massey and that interrogation scene. Deepak dobriyal no matter what he is doing in a movie, just never fails.
Talking about the real events, for a person living outside UP and Delhi, this case signified the city of Noida to me. It was like a city of hell for me and friends who knew about the case through TV news.
It brought back all the bad memories and discussions we used to have.
Bhai main to 10-15 min bhi nahi tik saka....aur violent movies to kaafi dekhe hain waise.
Deepak Dobriyal death sean was just heartbreaking 💔
That interrogation scene was the highlight of the film for me.
Both of 'em fkin' nailed it!!!
I agree with you brother sudden disconnection I felt with the movie after climax...I mean why you suddenly show that everything is okay and justice has been served...climax of this movie is very bad example of open end movie@@TriedRefusedProductions
@@shaolinAlexander ...on the contrary it shows the system allows corruption by showing the informant of the upper crust becoming the head of the police dept and implies things will go on as they did before. I cant see any served justice in it.

And what was the need of that post credit scene!!!
like wtf is the point of that CD now. The accused are acquitted aur yahan inka apna sequel ka plan chal raha hai. Hence my gripe with the creative route
While Vikrant was great, i feel Deepak stole the show with his restrained and nuanced performance
The confessing scene omg ..it was so horrific and i know the actual case and there was details given by that monster more cruel ..and knowing that , seeing the confession scene at the movie gave me more goosebumps 😨

I ever wondered how a serial killer or psychopath justify himself. Now I got the answer. They never find themselves as guilty
I cannot dare to watch this real life crime thriller but can you tellwhy he did all this@AryaAms
No to mention the thing that he kept doing to his hair during the interrogation

Completely agree with your review . I felt the same, they shouldn’t have gone down the who-dun-it thriller route on this subject as it’s based on true events and the music was so misplaced, tonally jarring ! Wish the filmmaker had been sensitive and honest regarding the screenplay ! Disappointing for sure
My first intro the nithari murders was through the web series Abhay, whilst it was a fictional take also it did give me a reason to look forward to the movie to know the actual details. But the aside the perfomance and certain scenes, just knowing that facts have been changed takes away what would make the movie special
Well narrated. We could feel your pain and emotions! Very sad this is.
I was hesitant when I heard Deepak Dobriyal is the protagonist because his silver screen persona is more of a comedic character. But he surprised me! Little did I know he is actually very well established in the theatre scene.
Getting justice in India is the most difficult thing...period!
I liked that part of the interrogation scene where Vikrant's goes low and Deepak starts recollecting the names of those kids. Brilliantly, avoided Vikrant's actual explanation. That also elevated the scene to a new level.
Being a baby girl mom, it pains me, gives me chills and I feel scared all the time as I don’t trust anyone with what is going on in this country.
The movie is so good and the brutality of the pschyopath shown disturbed me. I couldn't watch beyond 40 minutes. World is so scary man😳
Loving how you're bringing yourself into the reviews more, but not letting it completely cloud your judgement.
Loved the sensitivity with which u opened this episode
Yes I completely agree with you. Bollywood is totally lost making movies on real events and that is why I hate watching Bollywood movies.
Jammy please review Shekhar Home. It's a series that should not be missed. I loved it.
OFF TOPIC
Films aside, one thing is quite evident and clear no matter where one resides. Justice is for those who can afford it. Simply put.
Totally agree with you Jammy. If someone is tackling such a sensitive incident they shouldn’t take the easy way out and make a regular thriller.
You could have recommended the documentary- “the karma killings “, gives gruesome insights and did justice to the narrative
I loved the film but it's really traumatizing!! 😭
Vikrant's character is so creepy and scary and literally gives chills!! His guilt-less confession and his past ahh everything is scary!! I can't believe he is the same guy who played Veer in BBB, he is so versatile ❤️
Also I have been Vikrant's fan like for the longest time, but this time I was just so much in awe of Deepak Dobriyal I mean wow from the start to the end, the way he portrayed the character so justly!!!
Bruh where did vikrant land himself after 12th fail felt exactly the opposite emotion in this one. When the interrogation scene came up ijust told myself damn this guy is living the character🗿

So awesome to see Deepak Dobriyal as one of the lead and Vikrant, as usual, raised the bar of his acting skills. My prayers to the victims' families and hoping them to receive justice and inner-peace.
@Anmol, it’s first time when I found you review heart felt! I can relate the pain as I stayed in Delhi NCR at that time and used to work in Noida. However, I feel with current political situation asking questions can reprimand the creators and it’s a fair ask from them not to indulge in showcasing bureaucratic complacency! It’s good that people have started to talk about the horrific events due to this movie. Being a parent, my heart goes out to those who are family members to these victims. Hope they find peace in this life after what they have been through🙏
the principle that no one should be convicted based on conjecture or doubt.
Watched it last night. And agree with your conclusion.
Hats off to your narrations making our comments . Keep up the good work 🤍
I came here after watching the movie and genuinely felt the movie didnt do justice to the real case. I was expecting a little more from the story. Maybe a series of this would have been better than a movie. Nonetheless, hats off to vikrant's acting. Thanks for your review. Love how you articulate things. 👍🏻

I dont care about the plot, story or anything, all I SAW WAS THE VIKRANT MASSEY!!
The judiciary is corrupt from top to bottom 😢😢😢 No money no justice
It is not high court's work to collect evidences
I am not going to watch this. This is not meant for me 😅
I was too young at that time to follow the case and went in only knowing the bare bones, but still, although a lot of important aspects of our society and justice system were highlighted, it felt a bit oversimplified - now that I've done my research, it feels even more so.
The performance by Vikrant in the interrogation scene had my jaw on the floor. 😮
Hmmm agree with your point of view but this could have been addressed simply by a caveat by the makers on the lines of “that what we have shown is what we expect from our force “
Thanks for reminding everyone the truth, going above and beyond a movie review ❤
